The car let out a screeching sound as she parked her car in the villa. Emily waved at the guards and walked into the lounge. She was going to talk to the CEO about his documentary and she was going to make sure he gives in, no matter what.
“Deo! It was you I saw in the boutique right?” Danielle stood up on her feet as soon as she noticed Emily step into the lounge.
“Nde?” Emily arched up her brows.
What was the lady talking about?
“You’re not deaf, are you? And that car, why did you ride it?” Danielle scowled.
“Is it yours?” She folded her hands on her chest.
“Yes,” Emily let out silently.
“Mbo?! Yah, do you have a death wish?!.. that car belongs to Joel.” Danielle sneered angrily.
Emily fidgeted nervously.
“Who is the insolent fool that handed the car key over to you?!” Danielle thundered.
“I am,” Joel replied as he climbed down the stairs.
“J-dg-Joel…” Danielle stuttered.
“Do you have any problem with that?” Joel asked sternly.
“Oppa, why did you give her the exact model you use? It’s expensive, you know?” Danielle puckered her mouth.
“Leave!” Joel’s cold voice was directed at Emily.
Emily bowed slightly and dragged her feet up the stairs.
“Danielle, don’t ever talk to Emily the way you just did. She is not a maid here.” Joel’s dark expression made Danielle tremble.
He had never talked to her with that expression before.
Who was that girl, anyway? Danielle watched dumbfoundedly as Joel climbed up the stairway.
Joel’s tensed-up shoulders released a bit. He was the only one that could talk to her the way he liked, if anyone else dared to try it-even if it was her father-he didn’t know what he would do to the person.
Joel opened the door and walked into his room. He shut the door behind him and walked further into the room; he stopped in his tracks as he noticed something, there was someone else in the room.
“Kumawo.” Emily smiled from where she was standing.
Joel turned around and swept his cold gaze over her.
“I didn’t do it for you,” he replied coldly as he walked to his bed.
“Joel,” Emily began to say something
“It’s CEO Joel to you!” He shot her a call cold glare.
She blinked her eyes rapidly for some seconds.
“CEO Joel,” She called.
Joel looked away from her and carried his laptop on the bedside table.
Receiving no response, Emily took that as a ‘go on’ and continued with what she was saying.
“Erm… the thing is …” Emily stuttered.
“Get out!” Joel fluttered his eyelashes.
“Mwo?” Emily looked dumbfounded.
“If you don’t have anything to say then get lost!” Joel stated firmly.
“Hajiman,” Emily stuttered.
(A/N: hajiman means but/however/not to be confused with. In Emily’s case, it means but)
“Ka.” Joel dropped his laptop and stared at her.
(A/N: ka means go)
Emily’s face fell as she turned around.
“Hajima!”‘ Joel’s cold voice stopped her.
(A/N: hajima means stop/don’t do it. In Joel’s case, it means stop.)
Emily turned back and stared looked at him.
“Your bag,” he looked away.
Emily stared at the bag on the floor and carried it. As soon as she opened the door, she ran back into the room.
“Wae? What is chasing you?” Joel raised his brows.
“… that lady…” Emily stuttered as she tried to catch her breath.
“Are you stupid? Can’t you just talk straightforwardly?” Joel rolled his eyes.
“She’s coming here.” Emily panicked, running around the room as if searching for where to hide.
“Danielle?… So, what?” Joel shrugged his shoulders.
“If she sees me here, then I’m in big trouble, right?”
“Trouble, why?” Joel furrowed his brows.
“You guys are together right?
“Mbo?” Joel opened his mouth and shut it.
Why did the girl like jumping to conclusions? Joel rolled his eyes and opened his mouth to say something but kicked against the urge.
If that was what she thought, then he would play along.
“Aishhh! I need to hide.” She said, running in the direction of the bathroom.
“Ani, this won’t do. What if she says she wants to use the toilet?” Emily ran out of the bathroom.
“Ahhh… Eotteoke?” She sobbed.
KO KO KO, they heard a knock on the door, and Emily’s eyes widened.
Joel stared at the door and looked back at Emily. Was the girl insane? Why was she trying to hide? He facepalmed himself.
Danielle was the witch but the girl was the devil.
“Oppa,” Emily heard Danielle’s voice and ran towards Joel’s closet.
Thinking Joel’s room was the same way her room was, she ran towards the wall on the left and pushed it, it didn’t work-he ran to the right and pushed too, it didn’t work-she pushed with all her might but the wall still didn’t move.
“I’m coming in okay?” Danielle yelled from the door.
Joel rolled his eyes and took to remote next to him. He pressed open and the wall automatically slid to the right causing Emily to fall into the closet.
Joel snickered and pressed close on the remote. As soon as the wall slid close, Danielle entered.
Joel turned towards the door and stared at Danielle.
“Are you mad at me? Mianhae oppa, huh? huh?” Danielle pouted.
“I thought she took the car without your permission- I was only being caring.” Danielle got hold of Joel’s arm.
“Mianhae, huh? huh?” she shook his hand apologetically.
“Arasso.” Joel shrugged her hands off him.
Emily couldn’t close her mouth as she looked around-the CEO’s closet was a boutique entirely. Shirts on a side, tuxedos on another, suits on another, blazers on another, trousers, tops, coats, shoes, ties, wristwatches-name it! They each had wardrobes and hangers.
Emily stood on her feet and walked around, the closet was just too big! She walked towards the shelf and stared at the gold wristwatches; she was so engrossed that she didn’t know when she slipped and fell.
“Ahhhhhh!” She cried.
Joel gritted his teeth as he stared at Danielle. The girl was just too clumsy, why did she fall? He shook his head.
“Did you hear a sound just now?” Danielle furrowed her brows.
“Huh… Ande.” Joel shook his head.
“I heard something,” Danielle stood up on her feet and walked towards the direction of the closet.
“You heard nothing- it’s probably a rat.” Joel shrugged.
“Mbo?!” Danielle couldn’t believe her ears. She turned back instantly.
A rat, in the villa? No. Like, in Joel’s villa? They both knew that was impossible.
“Erm… Aishhh!” Joel scratched his hair in frustration.
“Danielle you need to go; I want to work.” He forced out.
“You can work, I’ll just sit.” Danielle smiled and walked back to the bed.
“Huh, aniii. I won’t be able to concentrate with you around, I’ll be distracted.” Joel stated.
“Ah! The CEO, distracted? Say something else, my love.” Danielle giggled as she sat next to Joel.
Joel sighed in frustration.
‘Emily I’ve tried my best, I guess you’ll sleep in my closet till tomorrow morning.’ Joel clicked his tongue.
He carried his laptop and placed it in his laps, going back to working on some files. Danielle chatted on her phone, laughing from time to time at some funny things the person she was chatting with said.
Thirty minutes passed and the CEO was still typing away on his laptop while the witch typed away on her phone.
Joel raised his head as soon as he heard the sound of a phone ringing; it was Danielle’s.
“Annyeon, Oppa.” She kissed his cheek and stood up on her feet, swiping up the answer icon.
“Yeoboseyo,” she spoke into the earpiece of her phone as she opened the door and walked out of Joel’s room.
Joel heaved a sigh of relief and continued typing away on his system… After a few seconds, he paused and looked in the direction of the closet-Emily was still in there. Hastily, he dropped his laptop on the bed and picked up the remote control for the closet. He pressed open and threw the remote on the bed, waiting for Emily to walk out.
After a few seconds of waiting without seeing her step out of the closet, Joel pocketed his hand a d walked into the closet. He twitched his lips as he looked around, where exactly was she? He shook his head and walked further into the closet. Joel stopped in his tracks immediately his eyes landed on Emily who was curled up in a corner, sleeping like a baby. Joel fluttered his eyelashes slightly and walked towards her. He fluttered his eyes again as he watched the sleeping beauty. He looked down at her left knee and saw that it was bleeding; she probably injured herself when he heard her fall the other time.
Joel arched down his back, lifted the sleeping beauty in his arms, and carried her out of the closet. He laid her on his bed and carried the first aid kit from the shelf. He took out a calm and gently applied it on Emily’s injury, he returned the balm into the kit and breathed on Emily’s knee.
He stared at her face for a while and traced his hands from her left cheek to her jawline and her chin. The girl was indeed beautiful. He wavered his eyelashes and carried her out of his room to her room and placed her on her bed.
“Joel,” Joel stopped in his tracks as soon as he heard the girl’s small voice call his name.
He turned around and walked towards the bed.
“That annoying, arrogant man!” Emily mouthed almost inaudibly.
Joel scoffed. She was sleeptalking. He chuckled and walked out of her room.

Emily squinted her eyes at the ray of sunlight penetrating her room through the window. She winced as she sat upright on the bed and scratched her butt, yawning in between.
She stood up from the bed, headed to the bathroom, and got dressed for work. As soon as she was set, she furrowed her brows and looked around as if looking for something-where was her bag? She pouted her lips as she tried to recollect where she had dropped the bag.
