Maria was not left out. She and Emily had been working since morning, she was famished and she hadn’t thought she was going to be eating a meal cooked by BRANDON LEE, the famous chef that afternoon.
“I hope the food suits your taste.” Brandon smiled as he watched Emily eat.
Emily gave Brandon a thumb up and nodded her head as she devoured the delicious food.
After a while, the trio finished their food and stepped down from the van.
“I hope you guys enjoyed yourself..” Brandon grinned broadly.
“Nde.” Emily nodded her head.
“Kamsahamnida!” the trio bowed slightly.
“Ye. Then this is where I say goodbye.” Brandon smiled.
“Goodbye, beautiful ladies.” He waved his hand.
“Awwwwww…. Ahhhhhh” the trio whined.
“I’ll see you some other time. Goodbye.” Brandon bowed and walked back into the van.
“Annyeonghaseyo!” The trio waved their hands as they watched the van drive out of the industry.
After the van was out of sight, they dragged their feet into the broadcasting industry.
???
Stephanie was all sweaty as she watched Emily chatter with her manager and assistant.
Just like the rest of the employees in the industry, she had also stood in the sun for minutes.
She had first found it hard to believe when Lucy rushed into her office and told her BRANDON LEE was in the industry. But when she saw the excitement on Lucy’s face, she had rushed down to the entrance to see the famous chef.
Her face had blackened when she heard Brandon say he had been sent to cook for Emily… that girl…
Stephanie scoffed as she watched Emily’s back view from where she stood.. she needed to act fast. The girl was stealing her show.
Rachel’s mouth was still left ajar the way it was when she has heard Brandon say he was in the industry to cook for Emily alone.
She bit a corner of her lip as she stared at Stephanie from afar. She shouldn’t rely on Stephanie any longer, she should deal with the stupid stepsister herself. Stephanie was a failure!
Rachel let out a fake smile and bowed as soon as Stephanie caught her staring at her.
Stephanie turned around and walked away.
Rachel smirked; but who was behind her stupid step-sister? She was going to find out. Rachel bit her lip and walked into the industry.
???
“Ahhh, I feel sleepy,” Emily said amidst yawn as she slumped her body up on the chair.
“Same here.” Maria yawned as she sat on her office chair.
“Me too.” Min Ah stretched her body.
“The food was delicious.” Emily smiled as she placed her head on Maria’s desk.
“Yeah.” Maria and Min Ah chorused almost inaudibly.
Unconsciously, the trio drifted off to sleep. Since Emily didn’t have any schedule for the rest of the day, they didn’t wake up until around five pm in the evening.
“Annyeong,” Emily waved her hand at her manager as she drove out of the industry.
“Deo, how will you get home?” She asked, facing Min Ah as they walked to the main junction.
“Ahhh, Unni don’t worry about me… I live around this place.” Min Ah smiled.
“Ahhh, I see.” Emily nodded her head.
“Unnie, annyeong. I have to go now.” Min Ah bowed and crossed the road.
Emily smiled as she walked over to the bus shelter. She sat down and huffed out loudly. She didn’t have any money with her and she couldn’t possibly trek to the villa. She swung her legs back and forth as she looked around. It was getting darker and even if she took the bus, it would only drop her at the junction and the walk from the junction to the villa was not a small one.
Emily sighed, she had no choice though. She decided to take the bus, she stood up on her feet and walked towards the bus when a familiar voice stopped her.
“Are you waiting for me?” the voice had made her stop in her tracks.
???★★★???★★???★★★???
“Huh?” Emily turned back and stared at the man standing behind her.
“CEO Joel?” She grinned.
“Uhn.” Joel smiled and took her by her hand.
“I didn’t know you’ll come for me.” Emily smiled as they walked to the car.
“I love you, I’ll definitely come for you-anytime.” Joel tightened his grip on her hand affectionately.
“Huh, CEO Joel loves me?” Emily’s lips curled up in a cute smile.
“Miss Emily,” Emily looked around, trying to figure out who was calling her.
“Miss Emily,” Emily opened her eyes as she hot brought out of the dreamland.
“Huh? Mr. Noah.” Emily stifled a yawn as she stood up on her feet.
“Mr. Noah, why are you here?” She furrowed her brows.
“The CEO told me to come to get you, he’s waiting in the car.” Noah bowed slightly and led the way to the car.
As soon as they reached where the car was parked, Noah held the door open for Emily to get in and shut it after Emily got in.
Immediately she got in, Emily was greeted by the cold aura emanating from the CEO’s body. It was enough to freeze a person to death. What was wrong with the CEO.
She couldn’t see his face since he had his eyes looking through the window.
Noah started the car and drove in the direction of the villa.
“CEO Joel… is anything the matter?” Emily whose mouth couldn’t be shut for once asked as she stared at the static man beside her.
NO RESPONSE
“CEO J…” Joel turned his head around and at the sight of his red scary eyes, Emily got cut short.
“You are really stupid, you know.” Joel’s voice breathed cold on Emily’s face.
“You forgot to ask for your t. fare back home; aren’t you stupid? So you would have taken that stupid bus and walked to the villa? Do you even realize you are a public figure now?” Joel thundered angrily.
Emily shrank into the seat she was sitting on. Why was he yelling anyway, it wasn’t like he cared about her.
“Mianhae.” Emily pouted.
Joel sighed and looked away. He was actually the one at fault.. he had been so selfish that morning and had hidden the bag in one of his coats so that Emily would ride with him.
Joel cleared his throat uneasily as he looked out the window.
“Kumawo.” Emily bit her lower lip.
The tense atmosphere was awkward and she didn’t like it.
Joel furrowed his brows and turned his head.
“What for?” He breathed out calmly.
“For the food.” Emily fidgeted with her hands on her laps.
Joel cleared his throat and swallowed. He looked away.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” He stated.
Emily smiled, she wasn’t that daft-she knew the CEO had sent Brandon to cook for her.
“Kumawoyo. I’m grateful.” She smiled.
Joel’s heart softened, it was a good thing she enjoyed the food.
He had watched the clip Stone gave to him and had chuckled. Emily enjoyed the food.
Emily and looked out through the window.
Winter had come and it was snowing.
A digital display caught her attention and she looked up at it. It was showing the CEO of Empire World signing autographs and waving to his fans after a meeting he attended earlier that day.
Emily smiled and turned around. Who would have thought she would be able to sit next to that man, the CEO of EMPIRE WORLD CORPORATIONS.
In no time, they arrived at the villa. The duo stepped out of the car and walked into the lounge.
“Oppa!” Danielle rushed towards Joel.
Joel felt a headache coming at the sight of the witch.
Danielle stopped in her tracks as soon as she sighted Emily behind Joel.
“Why are you coming in together?” She asked, startled.
“She didn’t take her car,” Joel replied as he headed for the stairs.
“Wae?” Danielle stood with her hands akimbo.
“None of your business Danielle.” Joel groaned and headed for the stairs.
Danielle shot Emily an indescribable look before running after Joel.
“Noona!” Little Pumpkin grinned as he alighted from his room.
“My darling!” Emily stretched her hands wide and carried Little Pumpkin off the ground, she twirled him in the air for a while and dropped him gently on his feet.
Emily pouted sadly as she ruffled Little Pumpkin’s hair, she was not having enough time for him.
“Little Pumpkin,” Emily called.
“Nde?” Little Pumpkin looked up at his ever-beautiful noona.
“Will you like to go out with this noona again?” Emily asked.
“Huh, uhn!” Little Pumpkin nodded his head.
“Awwn, when I get my next day off, I’ll take you somewhere.” Emily grinned as she hugged her little darling.
“It’s time for dinner.” the chef grinned at the cute duo.
“Huh?.. nde.” Emily nodded her head.
“Is the food ready?” Michael groaned as he walked out of his room, a towel around his neck and water dripping hair. It was obvious he just had his bath.
“Nde.” the chef bowed and headed up the stairs.
“Emily,” Michael patted Emily on his back as they headed to the dining.
“Oppa, you are really hungry…” Emily chuckled.
“I am really, really, hungry,” Michael whined.
“Hahaha” Emily and Little Pumpkin laughed.
“Yah! You two little-are you making jest of me?” Michael sneered.
“Oppa, ani.” Emily shook her head.
She and Little Pumpkin looked at each other and burst into another round of laughter.
“Aishhh, these kids.” Michael pouted.
Soon they heard descending steps on the stairway.
“How many hours do you need to change.” Michael sneered at Joel as he and Danielle took their sit.
“Waeeee? Hyungnim, I just got in.” Joel pouted.
“And so? Does that mean you should start dressing like a girl?” Michael sneered.
Little Pumpkin and Emily snickered.
“Did the two of you just laugh?” Joel sneered puffily at Emily and Little Pumpkin.
“Ani.” Emily pressed her lips as she tried to stifle a laugh.
But she and Little Pumpkin ended up laughing.
“Yaaisshhh!” Joel bit his lower lip as he sent daggers at them with his eyes.
They all dug in, chatting away as they ate.
