Audrey had a big smile plastered on her face as she walked towards Keith and Lindsey, she glanced at Lindsey noticing the surprised expression and felt very satisfied before shifting her gaze to Keith “I didn’t know I would find you guys here,” she said immediately after she approached them. “And what brings you here?” Lindsey snapped even before Keith could say anything.
“Oh me?” Audrey asked pretending as if she didn’t know the question was for her. “I’m meeting some business associates, I would have sent my secretary but they called in at the last minute and I couldn’t just leave everything to my secretary,” Audrey said making Lindsey smirk, she wasn’t convinced that what Audrey said was the truth and had a feeling she was just keeping tabs at them. She couldn’t place the kind of business associate that would decide to have their meeting on a beach. She tried talking but Keith was fast enough to speak before her.
“It’s good to see you,” Keith said hugging her tightly, they broke out of the hug a few minutes later and meet Lindsey’s eyes on them. Audrey smiled “So what have you guys doing here?” Audrey asked looking at Keith “We are here for some couple pictures, grandfather has been asking for them” Lindsey snapped at her. Audrey glances at her flashing her a fake smile. “Why don’t you go ahead and attend your business meeting Audrey, you can’t keep them waiting,” Lindsey said making Audrey stare deeply at her. She smirked before shifting her gaze to Keith “See you around,” she said before leaving.
Both Lindsey and Keith stared at her as she walked towards the other side of the beach. Lindsey rolled her eyes at her before dragging Keith towards her to continue taking the pictures.
“I’m heading out,” Keith said staring at his phone, Lindsey raised her brow at him “But we just came back not too long ago because you said you were tired,” Lindsey said but Keith didn’t bother responding to her as he walked to the door. He turned to spare her a glance before he left the room slamming the door behind him. Lindsey made to stand up and follow him but then she kicked against it, as far as she was concerned Keith doesn’t owe her anything and she doesn’t owe him anything, they were simply in a contract marriage and that was all.
She turned back to her phone as she uploaded the pictures they had taken on her Instagram profile, she made sure she was looking pretty in all pictures she uploaded. She smiled to herself as she went through the comments in her previous posts and then she stomped on Leen’s profile. Lindsey sighed worried wondering why Leen has refused to answer any of her calls or even reply to any of her numerous text messages. She clicked on the message button and sent her a direct message on Instagram. She knew Leen always check her messages and there was no way she wouldn’t see the message. She dropped her phone and headed to the bathroom to have a warm bath.
“It took you thirty minutes,” Audrey said looking at her wristwatch. Keith stared at her seating down on the cushion “Why are you here Audrey?” Keith asked and Audrey raised a brow at him surprised. She opened her mouth to talk but was speechless, she wasn’t expecting Keith to ask her such a question, in fact, she was expecting to see him happy and grateful that she came. “What do you mean?” Audrey managed to ask staring deeply at him. “I didn’t ask a difficult question, I asked why you are here and don’t even tell me you had a meeting because we both know that, that is a big lie,” Keith said, his voice a bit high and harsh which made Audrey more surprised.
“Are you by any chance falling in love with Lindsey?,” Audrey asked and Keith rolled his eyes “I expected more from you Audrey, Do you think Lindsey is stupid, she’s not and she knows you are here because of me and not because of any meeting, like which business associate arrange a meet in a beach, Does it even make sense to you?” Keith asked.
“Are you trying to call me stupid?,” Audrey fired at him getting really upset “I’m not calling you stupid, all I’m saying is that you shouldn’t act like one, Do you want her to become suspicious of us, that’s going to make my mum know about this romance and she is going to end it as she did years back?” Keith said and Audrey chuckled. “I see this is about your mum, you and your family reputation, do you even care to know how I feel watching you walk down the aisle with another woman, the world already knows her as your wife while I stay in the dark, Do you seriously think I enjoy it huh?” Audrey snapped getting up.
“It’s just temporary, everything is going the end soon just be patient” “Patient, oh I have been patient for a very long time, I have been patient before now and did I hear you say temporary, Five years isn’t temporary and I’m not sure everything is going to end then, have you thought of what would become of me if you mother refuse to terminate the contract or if Lindsey end up having a baby for you?”
Keith stared at her for a while and then walked towards her, he hugged her allowing her to cuddle up in his arms “Non of that is going to happen, I’m going to divorce Lindsey and I don’t love her enough to let her have my baby so you have nothing to worry about okay” Keith said patting her at the back.
Audrey sniffed without saying anything, Keith might not want any of those but Georgina had the final say and what if he starts falling in love with Lindsey, she would then become helpless, she made up her mind to mark out a contingency plan Just in case things didn’t work out as planned she won’t lose out at both ends.
Lindsey walked out of the bathroom humming but then she was interrupted by her ringing phone. She walked towards the bed, picked up her phone she rolled her eyes at the caller ID. “Hi” She simply says waiting for the caller to speak. “Enjoying your honeymoon huh?” Katherine asked. “Is there a problem?” Lindsey asked sitting down on the bed. “A problem?” Katherine paused for a while before she continued. “Nancy called saying she didn’t like the staff planning her wedding, Didn’t I ask you to do the planning yourself?” Katherine asked. Lindsey kept quiet, she didn’t know what to make out of her call or what would be a perfect reply. She had introduced Nancy to the best staff she had even though she couldn’t even complete her deposit fee despite bragging about her spouse-to-be being wealthy, she allowed it to slide because she didn’t want any problems from her or the members of the Roach family. “Are you there?” Katherine said lowering the phone to stare at it but then the call was still reading showing that it was still connected. “Jessica is the best I have, she knows her work well and Nancy should trust her taste in fashion and her sense of judgment, I can’t change her for so many reasons but the crucial of them all is that everyone is fully booked, up until the end of the year unless if she wants to shift her wedding date but if not Jessica would remain her planner, I would have minded doing the planning myself but I’m really busy so I can’t, sorry,” Lindsey said trying to sound calm and polite.
“Really?,” Katherine scoffed “You have become exceptionally busier since your marriage with Keith, I’m guessing you now regard yourself as an elite acting all proud and unavailable,” Katherine snapped. Lindsey inhaled deeply keeping mute “You sure schemed your way into that family, I wonder how you did it but I should applaud you for that, you sure are your mother’s daughter, you took over her, took all her bad qualities,” Katherine said, there was a chuckle followed by a burst of loud laughter, Lindsey closed her eyes and opened it almost immediately. She could hear the mockery in her laughter, she didn’t know why Katherine enjoy picking on her but she knew she wasn’t going to tolerate it any further. “Goodbye,” she said and ended the call. “What a troublesome jealous woman,” Lindsey muttered ending the incoming call that was coming from her. She stared at the time on her phone and then dialled Keith’s number but he didn’t pick up even after the sixth time. Lindsey frowned worried, she didn’t know who else to call aside from Georgina, Thalia or Taina and she didn’t want to call any of them as that would be her creating a cause for alarm and she didn’t want that and Keith won’t want that either.
She sent him a text before dropping her phone, She walked into the dressing room and a few minutes later she came out putting on her night wears. Her phone buzzed, she smiled and hurriedly walked towards it thinking it was a message from Keith but it wasn’t. She had gotten a message from an unknown private number. Lindsey frowned her face checking her message with Keith but he hasn’t replied yet. She inhaled deeply before checking the message from the unknown private number. “What the_” Lindsey froze after reading the message.
