“Get an uber back home, I have an emergency to take care of” Lindsey turned sharply at him “What did you say?” Lindsey asked wondering if she heard him right or if her ears were playing tricks on her, she fixed her eyes on him. Keith stared at her for a while without uttering a word, he got down from the car and walked to the other side of the car, he opened the door leaning towards her face.”I said get an Uber back home, I have something urgent to attend to” Keith said every word gently to her face just in case she tries to play deaf again. Lindsey opened her mouth to talk but all that came out was a gasp as Keith dragged her forcefully out of the car and slammed the door before walking to the other side of the car.
Lindsey stared at her injured leg and then at him stunned, he didn’t even care to look back at her and he drove off leaving her in the middle of the road. Lindsey fluttered her leashes exhaling deeply “Interesting” that was all she said, staring at nowhere, Keith’s car was already out of sight. “Son of a_” Lindsey paused trying so hard not to complete her sentence, she gritted her teeth taking out her phone from her bag.
She placed the phone on her ear listening to the ringing tune. “They never pick up their call, do they?, Useless company” Lindsey snarled placing another call on the Uber agency. She turned to the sound of a car horn and when the window slid down she beheld the charming face of Miguel.
“I thought you were heading out with your husband?” Miguel asked. Lindsey racked her brain searching for a suitable lie that he could buy and not sell herself out. “Erm, he had an urgent emergency, I’m waiting for the chauffeur to come and pick me up,” Lindsey said not sure if it was the perfect lie. Miguel nodded his head looking at her, “why don’t I drop you off?, it’s dangerous for you to stand on the road this way, that’s if you don’t mind” Miguel offered. Lindsey’s heart jumped up happily, she couldn’t be any luckier but then she had to pretend not to be stranded or too excited that he was offering her a ride. “I don’t mind but I have to call the chauffeur so he won’t mind coming,” Lindsey said and dialled a number on her phone. “Hi, yes don’t worry about coming, I already got a ride back home, yes have a nice afternoon,” Lindsey said and ended the call before looking up at Miguel.
He unlocked his car from the inside before Lindsey was able to open it, she got in feeling relaxed. “So, you are heading to the Winslow villa or Keith’s Villa,” Miguel asked. Lindsey thought for a while, she never knew Keith had his own Villa, she thought he stayed at the Winslow villa. “I was heading to Keith’s Villa,” Lindsey said, going back to the Winslow villa would make Georgina know that Keith had abandoned her on the road and she wasn’t sure about Miguel and Keith’s relationship just yet, even though Keith claimed he was his enemy but to her, Miguel was just a nice elite.
“The Winslow family ready to hold a press conference tomorrow” Audrey read from her phone and smiled scrolling down the tabloid. After she saw Keith kiss, Lindsey, at the wedding the previous day, she left the wedding hall but on her way home, an idea struck her. She was going to make Lindsey weak by taking away everything she loved and those that supported her, that way she would have the upper hand but then she knew she couldn’t do it herself so she decided to use Georgina. It wasn’t hard for her to get through to Georgina, she used a private restricted number and sent her numerous threatening messages regarding the contract Keith and Lindsey sighed and she made it look like it was from Leen, Lindsey’s best friend.
Georgina obviously arrested Leen because she was scared she would go and tell the public about Keith and Lindsey’s contract and not because Chace said anything about who let him into the wedding. Audrey had verified herself to make sure Chace won’t call her name but then she learnt that Chace refuse to say anything to the police demanding to hire a lawyer. “Such a smart gentleman, thanks to him, I killed two birds with one stone” Audrey’s lips twitched in an evil smile, she knew quite well that Leen and Lindsey’s relationship won’t remind the same and she planned on making them best enemies.
She sipped her wine adjusting on her seat, just then a message popped up, it was from. Audrey smiled opening it. “He would always be mine,” She said to herself smiling, she quickly texted him back letting him know of her location.
Miguel’s car pulled up in front of a magnificent Villa, Lindsey gazed at the house stunned, her mind moved into the wonderland as she began to imagine how the inside would be, the villa she was staring at looked ten times more beautiful and bigger than the Winslow villa. “You should walk in yourself, Keith won’t be happy if he finds out I gave you a ride” Miguel’s voice snapped Lindsey out of her thought. Lindsey turned to him “I thought all elites are friends, why aren’t you on good terms with my husband?” Lindsey asked and Miguel smiled. “It’s a long boring story my dear but not to worry, it’s all in the past” Miguel said. “In the past for you but it doesn’t seem that way with Keith” Lindsey wanted to say but then she decided not to push it, she wasn’t going to do anything about it so it was totally useless to listen to the long boring story.
“Thanks for the ride, I really appreciate it,” Lindsey said. “My pleasure, do enjoy the rest of your day,” Miguel said. “Thanks, you too” Lindsey mouthed and alighted from the car. She walked towards the gate and the gatekeeper didn’t ask her any questions before letting giving her access to the villa.
Lindsey was stunned by the interior decorations in the house, she walked around the house opening each door one after the other checking the rooms out and after searching for some period of time, she finally found the room she was looking for, Keith’s bedroom. She smiled walking into the room but then her smile drifted away when she saw Audrey’s pictures hanging on the wall alongside Keith’s pictures
“Why is this here?” She asked staring at it. She was aware that they were best friends but weren’t they taking it too far for mere friendship, she doesn’t even3 have Leen’s Portrait hanging on her bedroom walls. She thought of what next to do and after a while, she hissed and began to take Audrey’s pictures out of the room, she had plans of framing her pictures and hanging them on the walls.
Lindsey mumbled opening her eyes to the sound of footsteps walking inside the room, her eyes met with Keith’s eyes “what are you doing here?, why are you inside my bedroom?” Keith asked staring deeply at her. “Our bedroom you mean?, we are couple so we should sleep on the same bed in the same room” Lindsey said getting off the bed. She had lied on the bed to rest for a while but then she slept off.
“My bedroom, I have more than twenty rooms in this house so choose one and refer to it as your room” Keith snapped, couple or no couple Keith wasn’t just ready to share a room with Lindsey. He looked around but his eyes landed on an empty spot which previously had Audrey’s picture hanging there, Keith looked around and noticed that all of Audrey’s pictures were missing. “Did you remove anything from my room?” Keith asked staring at her. Lindsey rolled her eyes “Audrey’s picture yes, she’s just your childhood best friend so it’s a little too much to have her picture hanging in your bedroom above all she’s married, what do you think people would say” Lindsey said, she wasn’t feeling remorseful for her actions at all.
“And what gave you the right to touch anything here huh?” Keith fired angrily. Lindsey glanced at him, the little sleep in her eyes drifted away. “You gave me right Keith when you asked me to marry you,” Lindsey said, she wasn’t sure what it was that was going on between Audrey and Keith if it was just a mere best friend relationship or if there was more to it.
“Marry you?” Lindsey could sense the tune of mockery in his voice and it angered her, she got up staring at Keith, he walked up to her and landed two slaps on his cheeks, one at each side “You should better watch it Mr. Winslow, if you push me too far, I’m going to be the death of you and your family,”
