Harley continued to much onto the endless package of cookies and biscuits whilst waiting for everyone else in the van. He sat himself down by the window and gazed out with a small frown tagging his lips as he stared at the gates.
He could only recall the way she looked in the morning hours. She had roughed up hair and a new hickey on her skin which only meant she had been with Ace once more despite everything he was doing. He meetely had to accept she wasn’t going to find him attractive enough to fall in love with.
He sighed as he glanced down into the bag and snapped his jaw as he placed another cookie into his mouth, tasting the chocolate pebbles she embedded in the chocolate chip to melt almost instantly all over his tongue.
He couldn’t help but feel extra special that she had taken her time to bake for him something she knew he would most definitely love. But he couldn’t look back the bite on her neck and the fact that she was probably only doing it just so he didn’t notice or was eventually expecting him to forgive her.
He tilted his wrist, glancing down at his wrist watch as he chewed slowly. Just twenty more minutes left.
He glanced out of the van and noticed Ace walking towards them with a small duffle bag in his hands.
He was wearing a long sleeved V-neck and some black fingerless gloves to match. He also wore some grey sweatpants and some dark grey sneakers to finish off the look.
He had a very strong athletic build and had a very nice shade of dark brown hair, almost black. He was farely handsome as well with very sharp angles on his jaw and cheeks, almost making him look sculpted from perfection.
Harley then nodded his head in agreement as he studied Ace who had stopped to fix his belt. He nodded his head in agreement to the fact that he now saw why Hope was more attached to Ace.
Placing Harley and Ace side by side and judging them by ranks from handsomeness, Harley would be a merre seven to ten whilst Ace would be a nine.
Even Harley needed to admit it was far more handsome and luring.
“morning, Romeo.” Ace chuckled as he leaned a bit into the car to take a view of Harley who sighed and grabbed another cookie, biting into it in seconds and reaching for another. “I said morning, Harley.” Ace repeated this time with less of a smile as he watched Harley sigh out in boredom before finally glancing towards him
“morning.” He simply said and Ace rolled his eyes a little and tossed the duffle bag inside the van and on the empty seat next to Harley. “I’ll be sitting next to Hope the entire way. In case things get a little… freaky.” He bit onto his lower lip as he shot Harley a teasing smirk, trying to push on his nerves.
“you didn’t need to tell me.” Harley simply said, getting Ace to frown at the response when he was expecting Harley’s sharp outbursts and jealously trigger.
But instead, he seemed too calm.
“Hope and I mated, did you know that?” Ace chuckled as he leaned back into his seat, staring at the back of Harley’s head as Harley simply enjoyed his cookies. “twice.”
“I hope you think of marrying her.” Harley simply said as he grabbed a cream biscuits and munched onto it, enjoying the smooth cream of it. He had to admit, Hope was a great baker.
“what’s wrong with you?” Ace asked in boredom as he crossed his arms on his chest and leaned towards the chair in front of him, leaning into Harley’s ears. “don’t you love Hope?”
“I’m her best friend, not her boyfriend.” Harley rolled his eyes and moved from Ace and closer to the window. “do whatever you want with her. As long as you marry her in the end.”
“what the…” Ace stared confused at him. Before he could open his mouth to say more, Hope suddenly appeared at the door completely breathless as she carried a bag behind her back.
“sorry I’m late!” she exclaimed as she struggled to get in with the bag holding her back against the door frame, she tried to squeeze in as Harley glanced down at his watch.
She was late by a minute.
Noticing her struggle to get into the van, Harley reached out and grabbed her wrist, pulling her in with not so much force as he thought he would need. She stumbled forward into the van and nearly hit heads with Harley, luckily, he held up his hands and stabled her shoulders before any accident could happen.
“thanks.” She smiled as she sat down and pulled her bag off her shoulders and placed it on the ground between their feet. “how long is the trip again?”
“Three days.” He said as he glanced down at her.
“Not far. I guess.” She shrugged her shoulders and glanced over her shoulder to Ace who smiled at her once their eyes met. “ever been in a van before you dirty rogue?” she chuckled as she teased him, getting him to playfully roll his eyes with a wide grin on his face.
“oh no I’ve never.” He shook his head as he lied and smirked. “you’d better sit next to me and entertain me till we get there or I might get scared along the way.” He said as he patted the seat beside him, getting her to chuckle and shrugged her shoulders.
“I want to sit with Harley for the first drive until we stop.” She said with a nervous smile as he frowned slightly. “I haven’t hanged out with him some you came.”
“Aren’t I your boyfriend?” Ace asked with a deep frown as he clenched his fists, shifting his gaze to the bath of Harley’s head as anger and jealous filled him.
Despite it being only a few days since he met Hope, Ace had fallen in love with her inside and out. Her character simply mesmerized him, knowing the girls back in his previous pack had never really caught his interest. He didn’t understand why Harley would like Hope, since the first time they met, Hope was a very challenging girl and didn’t seem to want to be controlled in any way. It was almost as though she was a man in another sense.
Though, she really was just a woman. With such mixed characters of being fragile yet strong, dominant yet wanting to be protected, Ace had fallen and he had fallen hard.
So when Hope decided to visit him the day her and Harley had an awkward encounter, he made it his soul mission to claim her as his and have Harley become his subordinate.
“well, I mean…” Hope bit onto her lower lip as she glanced down at her fingers, getting Harley to sigh out heavily as he glanced out the window.
“Just go sit with him.” Harley said as he glanced back at her. “I don’t mind being alone most of the day if you have to be with someone you like.” He smiled slightly and reached out, patting her head slightly. “plus I’m just going to be in front of you. I’m not far.”
“right…” she nodded slowly as she frowned slightly, knowing Harley had really gone back to being her best friend.
But why did it hurt so much?
