Harley flashed his eyes open as the van’s wheel sunk into a hole on the road, forcing his head to hit agaisnt the glass of the van since he was leaning onto it as he slept.
He groaned his head as he reached his hand up to his bruised area. He dug his fingers into his hair and massaged it lightly, flinching in the process as he touched the pained spot.
“Does it hurt?” Hope suddenly whispered as he leaned onto the seat in front of her to his ear.
He glanced over his shoulder to her only to pale up when she was too close to him. He cleared his throat and glanced away, nodding his head in agreement.
“It hurt bad.” He chuckled as he patted the bruised spot and sighed out. “What time is it?”
“Noon.” She said as she leaned back into her seat. She glanced over to Ace who was looking outside the Van, looking rather cautious as he scanned the place with wide unblinking eyes.
She chuckled a little, rolling her eyes at how overly cautious he was being in a moving van.
“nothing’s going to kill us in a blink of an eye, would you just relax?” she asked as she patted Ace’s shoulder, getting him to snap back and blink a bit before turning to face her with a wide grin.
“Well I’m not here to just relax. I’m here as security right?” he asked as he snaked his arm around her neck and leaned in closer to her. “if I don’t look out and protect you, your father will think I’m not such a good son-in-law right?” he chuckled leaning closer to her lips. She shut her eyes as she felt his lips slightly brush against hers, teasing her slowly as their warm breathes mixed into each other.
Ace grinned out as he opened his left eye slightly and glanced towards Harley who wasn’t staring at them at all, having his back facing them. He hardly even knew what was going on behind them.
Ace shut his eyes again and pressed his lips agaisnt hers, getting her to lean in back to him. He circled his hand to the back of her head and pressed their lips harder together, deepening the kiss as he sneaked his other hand down the line of her stomach only to to have her gasp out and flash her eyes open when he lowered his hand further down.
“A-Ace what do you think you’re doing?” she whispered out as she grabbed his wrist and shot him a shocked worried glance.
“Having some fun.” He chuckled out lowly, though making sure Harley could hear him.
Despite being able to hear them loud and clear, Harley decided it was best he would ignore them instead. He wished he would block out their talking and noises completely but it would only make it very obvious that he was paying attention. Instead, he looked out of the window and watched the trees speed by.
“Lino.” Harley called to the driver who perked up his ears instantly and glanced up at the driversy mirror to his beta. “We’re stopping for lunch, tell the others.” He said as he leaned back into the seat, feeling his stomach growl as he glanced down at his watch. It was well past one and towards two. They needed a quick stop to have some lunch and be on their way again.
Ace frowned to the fact that he entirely ignored them. He wanted to catch his jealous expression but it almost seemed as though he had never loved Hope.
“Yes sir.” Lino nodded as he reached for the radio, tapping agaisnt the communicator. “ah… yes we will be getting to a stop, go ahead and secure the place.” Lino instructed to the other van with the security members as he slowed down his van, letting the other one pass them.
The van ahead came to a stop and the soldiers jumped out, quickly transforming into their wolves and scattering the area, patrolling the landscape.
Lino stopped the bus behind the security van and leaned back to his chair as he waited for the soldiers to return.
It wasn’t long until one of the previous rogues, an elderly man in his late sixties returned to Lino’s window.
“clear.” He said before walking back.
Harley sighed out before reaching for the door handle. He jumped out, nearly falling over as his knees wobbled from the many hours of sitting down.
And it had only been 4 hours.
He reached his hands into the air as Hope jumped out as well, stretching her entire body.
“I was beginning to starve.” Hope chuckled as she glanced up at Harley who glanced down at her with a small smile.
“same here.” He nodded just as Ace jumped out as well standing just beside Hope.
“luckily you had some cookies.” She chuckled as she reached up and punched his shoulder lightly. He chuckled as he simply shrugged.
“It’s not meat.” He said, walking towards the general Fox.
Fox instantly turned once he sensed someone behind him, only to glance at the beta. A wide grin spread his face as he reached his hand out to Harley who smiled back and took his hand.
“Didn’t get to greet you this morning.” Fox said as he chuckled. Harley simply shrugged once more.
“was packing.” He nodded as he watched the extra catering crew he had to being on to cook the food. They were in the same van as the security troop.
“I can’t believe you’re actually a beta.” Fox admitted as he pressed his lips together with furrowed brows. “I remember saying I would be.”
“you’re a general. Suck it up.” Harley rolled his eyes as a chuckle escaped his lips. “you’re a month younger than me and you already got to be a general of the army.”
“that’s only because I had to spar with you and Hope.” Fox pointed out as he shifted his gaze towards Hope who was talking animatedly to Ace who stood listening to her. “which reminds me… my sister told me the other day that you and Hope were together.”
“why did she say that?” Harley asked in confusion as he glanced over his shoulder to Hope, noticing how big her smile was with Ace.
“She said she saw you kissing one time.” He shrugged and folded his arms to his chest.
