Harley couldn’t help but admit to his own discomfort as he watched Hope’s excited expression as she shook hands with the unknown man. He clenched onto his jaw as he glanced down to the ground instead, feeling a bit of…. Jealous.
“We should fight now because I have a lot to do.” Hope suggested as the man stared down at her.
“I thinks that’s the most logical thing.” He nodded as he glanced over his shoulder to Harley who wasn’t looking at them. “Are you sure that isn’t your boyfriend?”
“Why do you keep asking about that?” Hope asked as the man began to lead the way into the forest with then trailing behind. Harley was at the far end, walking behind them both as Hope walked beside the man.
“He seems to dispose me.” He said before stopping on his tracks as he snapped his fingers and glanced down at Hope who raised her brows in question. “I don’t think I introduced myself, neither have you. I am Ace.” He smiled as Hope nodded slowly.
For a Rogue, he was much friendlier than she had been told to believe. She always thought they were very savage and very uncommunicative, better yet the thought they wouldn’t want to listen. But this one seemed very reasonable.
“I’m Hope, that is Harley, alpha and beta.” She grinned out as they entered an open space. She gasped in amazement since she really didn’t go out much often due to the sightings of rogues that made many of them stay inside the walls for protection.
“I have no position. As a rogue.” He shrugged his shoulders and glanced at Harley once more, noticing he was really avoiding his gaze. “How long have you known your beta?”
“Well, I’ve known him since we were young, we’ve always been really close.” Hope smiled as she glanced at Harley who stared ahead and at the field. He wasn’t smiling, he seemed pretty much annoyed which caused a frown to appear on Hope’s lips. She was unsure why he was being very angry about this.
“Have you two… Ever been romantic together?” He asked, bringing some sharp heat into Hope’s ears and catching Harley’s attention this time, causing him to glance at Ace.
“No…” Hope glanced around awkwardly and cleared her throat a couple of times. “We’re very close, but not romantically close. We’ve never been that close.” She said avoiding Ace’s studious gaze.
“If you had a choice, to remain his best friend or to fall in love with him, which one would you choose?” Ace asked and in that instant Harley clenched his jaw in near anger as he noticed what Ace was trying to do.
“W-Well…. That’s a bit strange beause my sister even asked us that question this afternoon…” Hope chuckled awkwardly as she scratched the back of her head.
“She doesn’t need to answer that.” Harley interrupted as he stood in front of Hope defensively, getting Ace to grin out widely. “You’re not even from our pack, why are you asking such personal questions?”
“Oh. I see. My apologises.” Ace smirked out as he stepped back and walked towards the open field. “Alpha, let’s see who’s stronger.” Ace grinned out and Harley frowned at Ace as he transformed into his wolf.
A gasp immediately escaped Hope’s lips at the size of the werewolf. His werewolf was slightly bigger than the ones she’s seen before. Could be because he was taller.
“Wait… Hope you don’t have spare clothes.” Harley stopped Hope who was about to rush into the field out of excitement.
“Don’t worry about that. My elders are watching, they’ll give her something to wear.” Ace’s wolf said as he sat on the grass, waiting for Hope to transform.
Harley reluctantly let go of her shoulders and she instantly transformed, ripping her clothes apart as she growled menacingly and rushed towards Ace who still remained sited, his yellow eyes simply watching as she charged at him.
She leaped into the air, jaw wide and ready to snap at his shoulder when he suddenly moved to fast she almost didn’t see him move. Without giving her time to process her thoughts, Ace quickly snapped at her waist, digging his teeth into her thigh.
The moment blood coloured the grass, Harley gasped in terror, knowing this wasn’t a friendly match.
Hope resisted he whimper and quickly turned to snap at him as well but he quickly let go of her leg and with such great speed, snapped onto her shoulder, sinking his teeth in. This time Hope couldn’t help it but let out a sharp wail as the pain ate at her shoulders from her flesh tearing apart with his teeth.
Harley quickly transformed and rushed into the field, only to get knocked over as he leaped for Ace. He rolled across the ground as another werewolf had knocked him over.
“You whimpered.” Ace chuckled as he instantly transformed back into his human form, gazing mockingly down at Hope’s werewolf what scratched against the ground from pain. Another rogue walked over to Ace and pulled out a pair of trousers from the bag begin him and handed it to Ace who quickly wore it.
The rogue also pulled out a dress and walked over to Hope who weakly gazed up at it and instantly transformed back. The rogue pulled the dress over over her head in seconds and dressed her, then walked over to Harley who was still being pinned down by the new werewolf, growling as he struggled to get off and attack Ace for the unfriendly match.
Hope sat up on the grass with her shoulder and thigh still bleeding. Ace walked over to her and squatted in front of her with a small smile.
“You lost.” He chuckled as he reached up to her face and shoved the loose strands to her ear. “I thought an alpha had to be strong enough?”
“You bit me…” Hope said out breathlessly as she glanced down at her arm. “It’s supposed to be a friendly match.”
“Rogues don’t have friendly matches. Additionally, you didn’t mention that.” He smirked out as Hope glanced away from him, clenching her jaw when she knew he was right.
