“Mom, why did you hit me? I haven’t recovered from my injury yet. Aren’t you worried that I would get a concussion if you hit me again?”
Natalie sneered. “Come with me. I have something to ask you.”
“If you have something to say, say it here.” Raymond refused to leave and looked at Gavin for help.
Gavin immediately jumped in to explain, “Raymond met with some trouble today. He didn’t do this on purpose…”
“Dad, do you know what he did today?” Natalie interrupted Gavin. “Raymond, do you really want me to talk about what you did today in front of your grandpa?”
Raymond was stunned. After he arranged for someone to send Anna home, he intentionally met with Ms. Rivera to apologize again.
Raymond didn’t like Ms. Rivera, and Ms. Rivera didn’t like him as well after such a thing happened.
He even told Ms. Rivera straight up that he was a misogamist. Although Ms. Rivera wasn’t too happy about it, she didn’t comment on it. She told Raymond she would look past and forget about what happened today. She also promised to tell the matchmaker that she was incompatible with Raymond.
Ms. Rivera was so reasonable that Raymond heaved a sigh of relief. As long as Ms. Rivera didn’t complain and William didn’t sell him out, he wouldn’t have to worry.
Looking at Natalie’s expression, could it be it was futile for him to call Valeria? Had William told on him?
William probably wouldn’t dare to go against Valeria. Natalie must be angry because of something else.
He gave a flattering smile and said, “Mom, don’t be angry. I didn’t do it on purpose. This is all because I got into some trouble today. I went to meet with Ms. Rivera, and she was the one who didn’t like me.”
Natalie sneered. “Ms. Rivera is well-educated, gentle, and virtuous. It would be strange if she were to like someone like you.”
“You don’t have to belittle Raymond like this. Raymond is also a decent man.” Gavin intercepted.
“Dad, don’t defend him. He is this ruthless because you have spoiled him. Did you know what scandal he got himself into today? He peeped at another girl, and that girl was Andrew’s girlfriend! He got this injury because of her!”
“What?” Both Gavin and Archer were dumbfounded.
Archer reacted first and hit Raymond on the head. “You are such a disgrace! I will beat you to death!”
Gavin only came to his senses after he saw Archer beating Raymond. He pitied Raymond and immediately went to stop Archer. “Stop hitting him. We can talk this through! What is the matter with you, Raymond? Why did you do something this indecent? It must be a misunderstanding, right?”
“I didn’t peep. It was a misunderstanding.” Raymond defended himself.
“What sort of misunderstanding would cause you to do something so insolent? It’s fine if you tarnish your own reputation, but what about your family? You are unbelievable!” Natalie was infuriated.
“Mom, I really didn’t peep! I’m a misogamist. I never thought of getting married and starting a family. Why would I peep at other women?” As soon as Raymond explained, he was hit again.
This time, he was hit by Gavin. “You’re a misogamist? You brat! Do you want to die? You don’t want to get married? I shouldn’t have helped you, this brat! How dare you not get married? We should teach him a lesson!”
After Raymond was reprimanded by the three of them, he escaped back to his room furiously.
He slammed the door shut and called Valeria angrily. He yelled as soon as the call was answered, “Valeria! I’ve asked you to keep watch over your husband. Is this how you’re doing it? Is it alright for William to be such a tale-tell?”
“Oh, what’s wrong? Why are you so angry?” William’s voice was filled with amusement.
“Why are you the one answering? I might as well since I have something to ask you. William, were you the one who sold me out? Why are you so despicable? Do you know that this is the behavior of a petty man?”
“I didn’t tell on you.”
“If you have done it, you have to admit it. Don’t make me look down on you!” Raymond was furious. When Valeria, who was at the side, heard Raymond shouting, she took the phone from William. “What’s going on with you? Why are you screaming at my husband?”
“William blew the whistle on me. I was beaten up by grandpa and our parents just now because of him. I’m so pissed!”
“He blew the whistle on you? What did he say?” Valeria glanced at William and asked.
Raymond didn’t hide it anymore. “He told mom that I was peeping at other women. He is so despicable!”
“Did you call my mom?” Valeria asked William.
“No.” William shook his head.
“He’s lying. Who else would tell on me besides him? He has always been petty and holds a grudge against me. He must be doing this on purpose. Listen carefully, Valeria. I was beaten up severely today. You must help me take revenge on him today.”
Valeria looked at William and asked, “What the hell is going on?”
“Since you’re on the phone with him, let him tell you what is going on. I’m at a loss myself. This is my first time hearing that he peeped at other women. I didn’t know before this.” William was baffled as well.
Valeria frowned and said, “So did you do such a thing? Right, weren’t you injured today? Did you get the wound from peeping at other women?”
“What are you talking about? I was wronged. This is just a misunderstanding!”
“A misunderstanding? So it did happen?” Valeria raised her voice. “Raymond Saunders, you’re such a shameless person! William has even covered up for you. If I knew you did something so despicable, I would go home and beat you up as well. You’re such a disgrace!”
“I’m innocent! It’s all William’s fault. He wants to frame me!” Raymond was sure that William was playing tricks on him, so he shouted angrily, “Valeria, I’m telling you! I’m your brother. I’m irreplaceable while your husband is not. There’s only one of me in the whole world while you can have another husband after getting a divorce.”
“Raymond, my husband is not the kind of person to tell on other people. You are the outrageous one! I’m telling you, if you say something like this ever again, I will cut ties with you!”
Raymond was rendered speechless after being scolded by Valeria, who immediately hung up the phone.
Raymond tried to wrap his head around the situation. So it wasn’t William who told on him?
Then who was it?
There was a knock on the door. Gavin had brought him some medicine. After closing the door, Gavin whispered, “You brat. Couldn’t you be more discreet peeping at other women? She is Andrew’s girlfriend. Don’t you know we shouldn’t covet our friends’ women? You are friends with Andrew. Why did you do such a thing? Even I feel ashamed for you.”
“Grandpa, this is a misunderstanding. Your grandson is not that kind of person.” Raymond explained angrily, “I’m telling you, this happened because William blew the whistle on me. My mom believed in his nonsense!”
“What does this have to do with William?”
“Wasn’t he the one who told on me to my mom?”
“Of course not. Have you forgotten that the salon belongs to your mom? Since you did such a thing, why didn’t you clean up your trails? Why didn’t you get rid of the security footage and deal with the staff? You brat. You had the guts to do such a thing, yet you couldn’t plan this carefully. You can’t even clean up after yourself. I’m so pissed!”
After being scolded, Raymond realized that no one told on him, but Natalie went to ask the staff and watch the security footage.
He was really unlucky today!
