Evelyn didn’t take it seriously at first when Pierre mentioned the inside story of who plotted against Valeria.
She had hidden her schemes against Valeria so well and it had nothing to do with Paisley. The reason why Pierre said this was probably because he wanted to curry favour with William.
But Pierre glanced at her when he finished speaking. His smile before he left was so sinister that it made Evelyn feel uneasy.
Did Pierre really know something? No one else knew that she had a crush on William, so how did Paisley know about it?
Was her actions that obvious?
The more Evelyn thought about it, the more she felt that something was wrong. She had to test if Pierre really knew the inside story of her schemes. If that was true, she had to take action first and stop Pierre.
Evelyn thought about it and stood up as well. “I’m going to the washroom.”
Michael watched Evelyn walk out with a sneer on his face.
Only someone with a guilty conscience would feel scared, so was Evelyn afraid now?
Evelyn went out of the room and saw Pierre standing in the rest area outside the room while he texted.
She hesitated for a moment before she walked towards him. “Pierre!”
“Miss Gurney, what’s the matter?” Pierre retracted his gaze from his phone and looked at Evelyn. His tone was no longer as warm as before.
“I need to tell you something.” Evelyn bit her lip. It was too embarrassing for her to take the initiative to ask Pierre for help, but she couldn’t give up halfway since she had already started the conversation.
Evelyn pointed to the lounge not far away. “Pierre, let’s go over there and talk.”
“Can’t we talk here? I’m waiting for the William. I won’t be able to talk to him if I leave now.” Pierre began to play along because he knew Evelyn’s purpose.
“We can’t talk about it here, so let’s go to the lounge. I won’t waste your time.” Evelyn was furious, but she couldn’t do anything to Pierre now and she could only try her best to suppress her anger.
Pierre thought for a moment and agreed. “Okay, let’s go.”
The two of them entered the lounge and sat down. Pierre then crossed his legs and looked at Evelyn. “Miss Gurney, can you tell me now?”
“Well, I’m curious about what you just said to Michael, so can you tell me more about it?”
Pierre looked at Evelyn’s meaningful smile and said, “It’s good that you’re curious, but I won’t tell you for free. After all, I’m not close to you at all.”
“What do you wantin return?”
“I… haven’t thought about it for the time being, but I can reveal one thing to you. The person that Paisley used to deal with Valeria has the same surname as you.”
Evelyn’s face darkened and she forced a smile. “Can you tell me more about it? I don’t think it’s a good idea to be so vague.”
“It’s not that I don’t want to tell you, but you should be clearer than me about the details. After all, aren’t you the person involved?”
Evelyn’s expression changed immediately. Now that Pierre had said it, she no longer cared about her stance. “What does this have to do with Paisley? I don’t understand!”
“How can someone as smart as you not understand? Paisley likes William, and so do you. When she found out about your crush, she immediately wanted to use you when she heard about Abbie’s accident. It’s very unfortunate that you fell for Paisley’s trap and schemed against Valeria! Miss Gurney, what else do you want me to say to you?”
“Where’s the evidence? You can’t just accuse me without proof!”
“Isn’t the evidence with Angel? Didn’t you hear about Abbie’s accident from her?”
Evelyn’s face stiffened and she neither admitted nor denied it.
Pierre laughed and said, “Miss Gurney, you’ve been so smart all along, but how can you mess up now! Angel was basically driven out of the Floyd family and she has no contact with them at all. How could she know about Abbie’s accident? All this was planned by Paisley. After she knew about the accident, Paisley deliberately told Angel about it and asked her to reveal it to you in hopes that she could use you. Although they did it secretly, no secret can be kept forever and I even found out about it myself.”
Pierre ignored Evelyn’s ugly expression. “I wanted to talk to you about this matter when I saw you tonight, but you were so dismissive to me. Since you don’t like me, I’m sure there will always be someone who will appreciate this piece of news more.”
Evelyn’s face was ashen and she spat a few words after a while. “Are you telling the truth? You’ll be in trouble if you’re lying to me!”
“What do you think? Did you really think that you’re smart enough to avoid getting used by others? I won’t hide it from you. My relationship with Paisley is very bad and I hate seeing her living a good life. It would be best if I could kill that bitch. As long as William believes me, it doesn’t matter if you think that I’m lying.”
“Don’t tell William about this!” Evelyn stopped him with an ugly expression.
“Hm?” Pierre asked.
“Leave this matter to me. I’ll take care of Paisley for you!”
“Is that all?” Pierre continued to ask.
Evelyn noticed that Pierre’s purpose was not just this, so she paused for a moment and asked, “What else do you want?”
“Miss Gurney, what can you give me? I’m not greedy and I’ll accept any gift from you!”
Evelyn gritted her teeth when she looked at Pierre’s cheeky smile and glared at him. “I’ll give you two million dollars. If William finds out about this, I’ll get someone to kill you right away!”
Evelyn no longer had the mood to stay in Climax Space after this and she left in a huff.
Evelyn gnashed her teeth in hatred on the way back. Did Paisley really ask Angel to use her?
Were they plotting against Evelyn all along?
How dare they treat her like this!
Evelyn had never been willing to suffer losses. She thought that she had hidden her thoughts very clearly when she got close to Angel. She even assumed that no one knew about it at all. However, she didn’t expect that Angel would know all of her thoughts from the beginning and take her as a joke.
The more Evelyn thought about it, the angrier she became. She called Angel and said, “I have something to discuss with you. Come out and meet me now!”
Angel knew that she would get into trouble this time when she heard Evelyn’s angry tone. She immediately refused Evelyn’s request and said. “I have something to do now. How about tomorrow?”
Evelyn sneered when Angel refused to meet her and said, “Are you afraid to see me because of your guilty conscience? Angel, you should be more straightforward if you didn’t do anything wrong. I know about what you did to me and I feel very upset about it when I heard the truth. I need you to give me a reasonable explanation immediately!”
Her words were so clear that Angel couldn’t pretend anymore. “Miss Gurney, it’s not very convenient for me to come out now. Why don’t you come to my place?”
“Give me the adress!” Evelyn said rudely.
Angel sent a location and Evelyn gave it to the driver. “Go to this place!”
