Raymond didn’t expect Anna to be such an ungrateful person. He shouldn’t have helped this stupid woman.
He pushed her hard to the floor after mustering his strength. She couldn’t remain standing due to her sprained ankle. She fell to the ground after letting out a surprised yelp.
She fell on her butt after her ankle was sprained. Even though she had always been a strong woman, she couldn’t bear the pain. “It fucking hurts!”
She cried out in pain and teared up, “Bastard! Jerk, how dare you push me! Ouch… It hurts… Just you wait…”
Raymond was dumbfounded when he saw her crying. He thought that she would not cry since she was an arrogant woman. He didn’t expect her to cry at all.
He couldn’t stand women crying the most, so he was at a loss for what to do. “What does this have to do with me? You brought it upon yourself!”
“The nerve of you! You’re the one who pushed me! I won’t forgive you! Just you wait!”
As she said threateningly, tears streamed down her face and she couldn’t stand up at all.
Raymond was both infuriated and amused. He couldn’t sit back and do nothing when she was injured. He called the waiter over and said, “Your customer is injured. Send her to a doctor.”
“Are you running away? Not that fast. He is the one who hurt me. I’m calling the police!” Anna did not forget to slander Raymond even when she was in so much pain.
“Don’t worry, there’s a surveillance camera around here. I won’t run away. Go see a doctor first. You can come to me at any time if there’s anything. Of course, that’s assuming that you’re not afraid of letting others see your fall in this corridor on the surveillance video.” Raymond did not seem worried at all.
“Let me tell you something. I know you’re cunning, so I’ve been on guard against you the moment I saw you. From the start, I have pressed the record button on my mobile phone. The police will understand the situation once they hear the recording.”
As he spoke, he waved the phone in his hand with a solemn expression. Anna was thunderstruck.
As expected, this wicked man was harboring bad intentions. This time, she had fallen into his trap.
Her ankle was hurting badly. There was no need to argue with this annoying man anymore. It was more important for her to go to the hospital.
“Just you wait, I will make you pay for this!” Anna shot a glare at Raymond with hatred and left with the help of the waiter.
He watched as the waiter helped her to walk away. He shook his head and let out a smile.
Then he headed straight for the private room where Andrew was in and knocked on the door lightly a few times.
When Andrew heard the knock on the door, he thought it was the waiter. He said straight away, “Come in!”
Raymond opened the door with a grin. Andrew was surprised to see him. “Why are you here?”
“I’m having my dinner here. I came to see you since someone told me that you’re here,” Raymond said as he looked around the room. This was strange. Wasn’t Andrew here for a blind date? Why wasn’t his date here?
Andrew noticed Raymond’s actions while the latter was thinking about it. He asked, “What are you looking for?”
“Nothing. I saw a woman’s bag next to you. Is she having dinner with you?”
“That’s right. What’s the matter?” Andrew asked instead.
“Is she your girlfriend or client?” Raymond asked again.
“It’s a female friend that I’m meeting for the first time.”
Raymond asked instantly, “Where did she go?”
“What does it have to do with you?” Andrew frowned. “Are you here to check on me?”
“No, I’m just curious. You have a blind date, right? I heard it from Valeria. So I came to see you. I’m curious about the person who will be meeting you.” Raymond didn’t hide his intention anymore.
“Hey Raymond, you’ve gone too far!” Andrew shot Raymond a warning look. “Why the hell are you here on my blind date? Hurry up and leave. Don’t interrupt my date.”
Raymond didn’t stay for long when he saw that Andrew was displeased. “Andrew, is the girl beautiful?”
“Of course! Why are you asking? Hurry up and leave. Don’t be such a nuisance!” Andrew began to chase him away directly.
“Ah, you only care about your date! Am I not your friend?” Raymond glared at Andrew and left in disappointment. He muttered as he walked, “You didn’t introduce a nice girl to me, but you introduced a beauty to Andrew. Valeria, you’re playing favorites. You and your husband have something against me, don’t you?”
He mumbled to himself as he left. Andrew was baffled by his actions. He glanced at the time. Anna had gone out for some time. Why hadn’t she come back yet? Could it be that something bad had happened to her?
He called her as he thought about it. When the call was connected, her pitiful voice rang out. “I sprained my ankle, so I’m on my way to the hospital.”
“Ah, why didn’t you tell me about this?”
“It was too painful at that time, so I forgot to inform you.”
“What hospital are you going to? I’ll be there right away.”
Anna told him the name of the hospital. Then he stood up, picked up her bag, and strode out of the room.
William had an important dinner party tonight. He didn’t return to the rehabilitation center until 12 p. m.
He pushed the door open and saw Valeria leaning against the bed. He furrowed his brows. “Why aren’t you asleep? It’s so late at night.”
“Don’t you know that I’m waiting for you?” Valeria smiled as she answered his question.
“Didn’t I tell you that I would come back late? Don’t you know that you shouldn’t have stayed up late since you’ve just given birth?”
“Honey, you’re so silly! Shouldn’t you be happy that your wife is awake and waiting for you? Why are you unhappy? You even scolded me.”
“I was worried about your health. Don’t you understand?” William’s tone softened.
“Go ahead! Do you really think I want to wait for you? Cade and Santhos woke me up because they peed in their beds. They also cried because they were hungry for milk. I can’t sleep, so I lie on the bed for a while. Don’t think too highly of yourself!”
“Are you upset?” William sat down and reached out to caress her face. Valeria smacked his hand away. “You smell like alcohol. Go take a shower!”
“Are you starting to dislike me so soon? I’m not leaving!” William didn’t move away. Instead, he leaned over to kiss her face.
She smiled and pushed him a few times, but she couldn’t push him away, so she had to let him kiss her.
After a while, William let go of Valeria as he said with a painful look, “Argh, I can see and feel you, but I can’t sleep with you. Such torture!”
“Look at how you are! You look so wronged!” Valeria burst into fits of laughter. “Honey, let me tell you something. Today, I set up a blind date for Andrew. It’s Helen’s niece, Anna Taylor.”
“Anna Taylor?” William was stunned momentarily.
“Yeah, do you think the name sounds familiar? It’s the same name as the girl whom you introduced to Raymond. He came here today and asked me what she looked like. He also complained to me.”
“What did he tell you?”
“He said that I’m nice to the outsiders instead of family and friends. He complained that you introduced an ugly girl to him, but I introduced a beautiful girl to Andrew. He was really angry. He said that he is going to the Wolf Group to see what Anna looks like tonight.”
“Did he go in the end? Did he see Anna?” William asked with interest.
“Yes, he did go there, but I’m not sure if he saw Anna. Let me tell you, a little accident happened when Anna met Andrew. She sprained her ankle and was sent to the hospital.”
“Oh, is that so?” William seemed to be lost in thought. “So, Raymond didn’t run into Anna, did he?”
“I don’t think so.” Valeria was not sure as well. “But he sent me a message saying that he met an unreasonable woman in the Wolf Group. She was very fierce and attacked him once they got into an argument. After that, she tried to slander him as well. He asked me to tell you to retain the surveillance video so that she wouldn’t be able to blame everything on him.”
William let out a meaningful smile upon hearing this. “I see. Alright, I’m going to take a shower now.”
