In the Wolf Group, Anna was wearing the latest tweed skirt as she walked into the reserved private box with the latest style of the tweed handbag in her high heels.
There was no one in the room. Andrew was not here at all. Anna checked the time and realized that she had arrived ten minutes in advance.
Was Andrew going to be late? It was not nice to let a woman wait.
The door was pushed open when she thought of this. Andrew walked in and the two of them met face to face. They looked at each other carefully.
Anna’s pretty face was small and delicate. Her skin was fair and her eyes were limpid. There was a pot of blooming flowers right behind the chair she was sitting on. She looked as beautiful as the flowers, if not more, in contrast.
Andrew was dressed in a suit. His facial features were distinct and he stood tall and straight. At first glance, she felt that he was even more handsome than Richard.
Both of them had a good impression of each other’s looks after they looked at each other for the first time.
Andrew smiled and said, “Hello, Miss Taylor. I’m Andrew Howard! sorry that I’m late!”
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Howard! I’ve just arrived too! Please have a seat!” Anna was pleased with Andrew, so naturally, she was girlish.
Andrew sat down and chatted with her a little more. After that, he handed over the menu with a smile and let her order the dishes.
She took the menu. “I haven’t come here for a meal before. I don’t know the tasty food here. Why don’t you order some for us, Mr. Howard?”
“That’s alright. Is there anything you’re allergic to, Miss Taylor?” Andrew asked.
“No, I like food that is spicy and sweet. The sweeter, the better!”
Anna was relaxed and honest. Andrew liked her personality very much. He said with a smile, “Your taste is similar to my aunt’s. She also likes sweet and spicy food. My uncle specially ordered the chef of the Wolf Group to develop a new dish for the sake of her taste.”
“Wow, your uncle is so nice to your aunt.”
“Of course, in fact, she is nice to him too. They have gone through life-and-death together.”
Andrew ordered the Wolf Group’s signature dishes as he spoke. The waiter served the food quickly. The two of them began to talk as they ate.
Andrew was someone who had studied abroad, so his views and interests were almost the same as Anna’s.
Their hearts grew closer as they talked. They even felt that they had known each other too late.
They chatted happily, so they added each other on WhatsApp and exchanged phone numbers. Later, Anna had a call, so she got up and went out to answer the phone apologetically.
It was her mother, Aria, who called her. The latter got up in the morning and received a video call from Helen, who told her that Anna was having a blind date.
As her mother, Aria was naturally concerned about the result of her daughter’s blind date. Thus, she called her to ask about it impatiently.
“Anna, your aunt told me that you had a blind date today. What does the guy look like? I heard that he is William of the Howard family. He is not a playboy, is he?”
Upon hearing her mother’s question, Anna glanced at the room and walked away from it in the corridor subconsciously. She lowered her voice and answered cheerfully, “Of course not. He is very handsome and talkative. He is definitely my type.”
“Is he that perfect? Handsome and talented men are always a playboy. Is he a flirtatious guy?” Aria asked worriedly.
“No, I don’t think so. I think he looks like a righteous guy. Besides, Valeria is the one who introduces him to me. My aunt didn’t object as well. If he is a playboy, I don’t think she will agree to let me go to the blind date.”
“That’s true. Remember to send me a few photos so that your father, your brother, and I can help you to see what he is like,” Aria reminded again.
Anna grinned happily. “Mom, why are you in such a hurry? We’ve just met each other. I even don’t know if he likes me. After all, your daughter is not any other woman.”
“Calm down and get a hold of your temper. Don’t say whatever that’s on your mind. Be smart. Men like to act like girls who act cute. You should change the way you act. Don’t be so impatient and fierce. You should play cute often, alright?”
Anna agreed and said, “Mom, I can’t let him wait too long. I have to go. I’ll talk to you when I have time.”
After hanging up, she stuck out her tongue and muttered to herself, “Act like a cute girl? I don’t know how to do that. Making a fuss is all I know!”
As her voice fell, someone spoke next to her, “Oh, so you do know that you are a shrew? You know yourself pretty well.”
Anna glared in the direction of the voice and saw Raymond looking at her with disdain.
The two of them bristled at the sight of each other since they were enemies. Anna retorted with contempt, “If I am a shrew, you are a bastard. Being hit by an electric baton that day is not bad, is it? Do you want to experience it again?”
“How dare you mention it again?” Raymond’s eyes were glowing with flames of anger.
“Why won’t I dare? I’m telling you that someone has my back. It’s a piece of cake for him to teach you a lesson.” Anna was extremely cocky. Previously, she was worried that Richard would teach her a lesson. Now that William had her back, she had nothing to be afraid of, right?
She was locked up in the police station but William could bail her out in seconds.
Raymond laughed due to extreme anger at her arrogance. “Is that so? Why don’t you try to teach me a lesson today?”
“What’s the point of arguing? Why don’t you move closer to me if you have the balls?”
“Are you taunting me? You want me to get close to you like last time so that you can frame me for touching you inappropriately? Do you think I’m stupid?”
“You’re not stupid, but you’re an idiot! Anyway, I bet you won’t dare to mess with me!”
“Then you’re wrong. No one will help you here!” Raymond let out a sneer. This was William’s territory, so Raymond didn’t think that anyone would dare to help this woman in front of him.
However, he couldn’t be the one who hit her first. What if words got out about this?
Raymond snorted at Anna and said, “I bet you won’t dare to lay a finger on me!”
“You’re too arrogant. Provoking you is exactly what I’ll do today.” For some reason, Anna didn’t like Raymond.
She did not tolerate the fact that he dared to provoke her. After getting carried away with her temper, she forgot that Andrew was still waiting for her in the private room. Instead, she rushed straight at Raymond. “I’m going to show you who’s the boss today!”
She was dressed up beautifully today, so naturally, she could not have brought the pepper spray and the electric baton with her. In terms of strength, she was no match for a bulky man like Raymond.
However, she was stubborn and confident in herself. She had learned boxing abroad, so she thought that the man in front of her had to be someone who didn’t even know how to fight. By then, she could take him down and kick him several times in the gut to vent her anger.
Anna was overjoyed and completely forgot that she was wearing high heels instead of a pair of flat sneakers at this moment.
When she charged over, Raymond moved aside. She couldn’t stop her momentum and sprained her ankle on the high heels. Then she lost her balance and fell down.
Raymond was initially gloating as he waited to see Anna make a fool of herself. However, he saw a flower pot at the place where she was going to fall. If she were to fall on it, she would be seriously injured for sure.
As he thought about it, he reached out to help her. As a result, she fell straight into his lap.
She was in excruciating pain since she sprained her ankle. She had no place to vent her anger so she was not grateful that Raymond caught her in his arms at all. Instead, she punched him girlishly and whined.
