Meanwhile, in the Davis family, Wayne was sitting in the study while he was preparing to write. He felt depressed when he saw the new inkstone placed on the desk.
The inkstone he loved the most had been smashed to pieces by Azalea. He had spent a huge sum on it and he often took it out to show off to his guests. But the broken pieces were now placed in his drawer.
Michael put down his pen and sighed heavily as he sat down. He looked a little older after returning from the hospital, and the hair on the temples was obviously much whiter than before.
His recent days were filled with worries. Michael and Azalea had been fighting non-stop, and the company’s stocks had fallen for three days because of the scandals that Michael created. Michael was one of the major shareholders, so Wayne felt distressed the company’s market value suddenly drop so much.
He called Michael a lot of times during this period of time, but none of his calls was answered.
Meadow and Stanty also called Michael countless times, but they were in the same position as Wayne.
Michael completely ignored the Davis family. Only then did Wayne realize that he had no control over Michael at all.
Michael never went against Wayne in the past and he would obey his grandfather’s orders even if he wasn’t satisfied.
Michael would be anxious whenever Wayne had a headache, but he had no patience towards the latter at all now.
When Wayne thought about it carefully, he found that Michael’s attitude toward him had changed since he lost Abbie.
That was to say, Michael had tolerated him because of Abbie. He cared about Abbie’s opinion and was willing to compromise for her sake. But now that she was gone, all of Michael’s patience had disappeared because of her death.
The more Wayne thought about it, the heavier his heart became. He obviously preferred Abbie before he knew Azalea’s identity.
The Clark family had a good background and they had a good relationship with the Davis family. Abbie was beautiful and kind-hearted, so she was very compatible with Michael.
However, Wayne became greedy when he learned of Azalea’s identity from Meadow. He knew that Azalea might inherit all of the Floyd family’s assets.
He wanted to use the Floyd family to strengthen the Davis family. Wayne had such a thought because he had observed Azalea and knew that she had a deep affection for Michael.
Wayne could tell that Azalea liked Michael very much, which was very beneficial for the Davis family to make use of the Floyd family.
However, Wayne never expected that the Floyd family would be so indifferent to Azalea.
He had never expected that Azalea would have such a despicable character.
There was a loud bang upstairs just as he was thinking about Azalea. The loud noise scared Wayne so much that he stood up from his chair.
Soon, Meadow’s voice came from outside. “Azalea, what’s wrong with you?”
Azalea’s voice was fierce. “What do you mean? I was pissed off by Michael!”
“How did he piss you off if he didn’t even come home?”
“Didn’t you read the news? Michael booked a hotel to hold a party for a golddigger last night. He gave her valuable jewellery and kissed her passionately. What is he trying to do? Aunt Meadow, can’t you control him?”
“Azalea, it’s not that I don’t care. It’s just that he isn’t answering any of my calls at all. I’m sure you saw how many times his grandfather and I called him as well.” Meadow complained.
“He would always answer your calls before this, so why did he start ignoring both of you? I think both of you are just making up excuses!”
Meadow had a headache. “Azalea, you should have some conscience when you speak. Don’t you know how well I’ve been treating you?”
“You would ask Michael to come back If you really treat me well. Ask him to leave his mistress behind and marry me!” Azalea demanded rudely. “This… Azalea, he doesn’t listen to me at all.” Meadow wouldn’t let things end up like this if she had the ability to control Michael.
Azalea angrily kicked the decorations on the corridor when she heard this.
She had already broken a lot of fragile decorations in the past few days. Meadow had no choice when she saw Azalea lose her temper. She had stopped Azalea before, but she later realized that it was useless. Azalea was deliberately trying to destroy things and she would get even more upset otherwise, so Meadow let her be.
Azalea became angrier when she saw that Meadow did not stop her. She kicked the big vase in the corridor fiercely. She thought that it was like the others and it would break into pieces as soon as she kicked it, but she was wrong.
The vase that Azalea kicked over forcefully was not made of porcelain at all, and it was made of copper.
Wayne was a little superstitious. After listening to a shaman, he specially made two huge copper vases and placed them here to improve the flow of energy in the house.
Azalea thought that she would hear the sound of something breaking, but that didn’t happen and she felt a piercing pain in her foot instead.
Azalea’s feet were bare and she had used all of her strength to vent her anger. One could well imagine the result after her foot collided with the copper vase.
Azalea screamed immediately and she felt as though her foot had been broken. The intense pain made Azalea unable to stand up at all. Then, she fell to the ground and cried as she hugged her foot.
The pain from her foot was excruciating and it was unbearable. The pain wasn’t relieved even as Azalea held her foot. She was in so much pain that she rolled on the ground.
Meadow looked at Azalea rolling on the floor and thought that she was making a scene. She didn’t do anything and she just continued looking at Azalea.
She only realized that Azalea wasn’t pretending when she saw that the latter was in so much pain that her face was filled with tears. She immediately called the servants over to help.
Azalea was sent to the hospital and her screams were endless along the way. The servant called the emergency room and the doctor immediately gave Azalea a check-up.
Azalea’s voice was hoarse after screaming so much. The pain was so unbearable that she wouldn’t let the doctor touch her foot at all.
The doctor found a pair of scissors and carefully cut off Azalea’s shoes and socks. He found that Azalea’s injured foot was covered in bruises and it was extremely swollen.
The doctor wanted to see what was going on, but Azalea did not allow him to touch it. Azalea would let out a shrill scream whenever the doctor’s hand got close to her.
Her scream was so miserable that Meadow couldn’t ignore it, so she asked the doctor, “Why don’t you check her wounds after you give her some anaesthetic?”
The doctor asked rudely, “How is that feasible? I can’t find the source of the injury if she can’t feel any pain.”
Meadow couldn’t say anything after she was scolded by the doctor. Azalea had been making a scene these days, so Meadow was upset as well.
Azalea was asking for it and she ended up like this because of her actions. It was completely fine if she didn’t want to go for a check-up. Anyway, she was the one who was in pain and she would have to deal with it herself.
