Meadow no longer stayed in the examination room. She left with her mobile phone and intended to ignore Azalea.
The doctor tried to talk to Azalea, but she was too pretentious. She continued to shout until the doctor lost his patience.
“Miss, do you really want to check your foot or not? I’m very busy and there are many patients waiting outside. You can leave if you don’t want me to check up on your injury, don’t occupy my time.”
Azalea was so angry that she yelled at the doctor, “Who are you? Who gave you the guts to speak to a patient like this? I can lodge a complaint and make you lose your job!”
The doctor had a temper as well and he had never been so worked up before. If it weren’t for the fact that the hospital had rules that banned him from arguing with his patients, he would have given Azalea a piece of his mind by now.
Did she want to complain about him? Did she know that this was his territory? He could make her life easier or harder as he wished and she could do nothing but endure the pain.
The doctor tried to suppress his anger and apologized with a kind smile. “I’m sorry. I was in a hurry. I’ll check on you slowly.”
He apologized politely. Azalea thought that she had the upper hand, but she didn’t know that her suffering had just begun.
The doctor had been very polite to her before and he gently touched her injured foot, but now it was different. He didn’t care about Azalea’s feelings at all and grabbed her particularly hard.
Azalea’s shrill screams could be heard from the examination room even from a distance. Meadow stood not far away with the servant who had sent Azalea over.
The servant whispered when she heard Azalea’s scream, “Miss Clark used to look gentle and polite, but hasn’t she been too rude recently? She did this to herself and she doesn’t care about her image at all.”
Meadow was already disgusted with Azalea. However, she did not express her displeasure to the servant and she continued to stand there expressionlessly.
The screams from the examination room were never-ending as the doctor grabbed her foot without any hesitation.
When Azalea finally fainted from the pain, the doctor took off his gloves expressionlessly and ordered the nurse, “I’ve just given her a check-up. There’s something wrong with her toes, but I’m not completely sure. Send her to take an X-ray and take a CT scan to see the final result!”
The nurse immediately informed Meadow, who was standing outside, to take Azalea for an examination.
The servant pushed Azalea, who was unconscious, to the examination room in a wheelchair. On the way, Azalea woke up slowly and began to cry again. She even complained to Meadow that the doctor was deliberately targeting her.
“Aunt Meadow, that damned doctor tried to kill me and he deliberately tortured me. I can’t let him go!”
Meadow didn’t say anything because she was very clear about Azalea’s character just now. The doctor deliberately targeted Azalea because of her own actions.
However, she couldn’t be so straightforward to Azalea and she patiently explained, “Azalea, you’re thinking too much. Why would the doctor deliberately torture you when he doesn’t have anything against you?”
“He’s doing it on purpose! His attitude toward me is so bad and he’s so impatient. He must be angry after I said that I wanted to complain about him, so he wanted me to suffer. It is said that doctors need to have a big heart, so how can someone as vicious as him be a doctor? Is he qualified? I want him to lose this position and ban him from becoming a doctor for the rest of his life. Aunt Meadow, arrange someone to do this right away!”
Azalea’s arrogant tone made Meadow frown. “Azalea, this is the Saunders family’s hospital and it doesn’t belong to us. We’re not close to them at all, so how can they agree to this?”
Azalea questioned angrily when she heard Meadow’s words, “Even if you’ve never interacted with them before, Wayne must have some connections with them. Even if he doesn’t, they won’t refuse such a thing because of Wayne’s status. Call him immediately and tell him that this damned doctor needs to be fired today.”
Meadow couldn’t stand it anymore and she refused Azalea again. “He has been very angry these days. I don’t dare to call him to talk about this.”
“Aunt Meadow, do you mean that you won’t help me?” Azalea was different from before when she realized that Wayne and Meadow had their eyes on the assets of the Floyd family. She didn’t have to lower her head when talking to Meadow and her tone was very rude.
Meadow felt extremely wronged, but she held back her anger and said, “It’s not that I don’t want to help you, but it’s better for you to solve it yourself.”
“What do you mean?”
“Azalea, you know that the Saunders, the Howard, and the Floyd family are related by marriage. It would be better to ask the Floyd family for help. Why don’t you call Fandrey or Deborah and ask them for help? A simple phone call can solve this matter as long as they are willing. By the way, let your grandparents know you are injured and ask them to come and see you.”
Azalea didn’t have Deborah or Fandrey’s phone numbers. Even if she did, they wouldn’t be willing to help her either.
There was a hidden meaning in Meadow’s words. Azalea felt that Meadow was deliberately insulting her and she became so angry that she cursed viciously along the way.
Meadow pretended not to hear it and the maid frowned. Then, the maid quickly pushed Azalea into the CT examination room when she noticed the strange gazes of the patients and their family members along the way. Since Azalea’s case was urgent, the doctor had the results in half an hour after he did the test.
Azalea’s pain had not yet subsided, but she had to quickly take an X-ray. The doctor handed the X-ray to Meadow while the servant pushed Azalea back to the doctor’s office.
Meadow showed the X-ray to the doctor after she entered. The doctor who had just examined Azalea carefully looked at it for a while. “One of her toes seems to be broken and she probably needs to undergo surgery.”
Azalea was furious when she saw the doctor’s calm attitude. “I don’t want this damned quack to treat me. I want to change to another doctor.”
“Manni! Don’t be so rude!” Meadow tried to persuade her.
“I don’t want him to treat me and you don’t have to persuade me. Get me a new doctor immediately.”
As Azalea shouted, the door of the doctor’s office was knocked on twice. The doctor then looked up and saw Francis standing at the door, so he immediately stood up and said, “Hello, Mr. Gurney! Do you need help with anything?”
Francis came in with his butler. “Hello, Dr. Smith. Evelyn said that her hand was itchy and very uncomfortable just now, so I wanted to ask about her condition.”
“Miss Gurney feels an itch on her skin because her wound is healing. It’s normal and it’s nothing serious. Don’t worry, Mr. Gurney.” Dr. Smith said with a smile.
Francis trusted Dr. Smith very much, so he nodded and said when he heard this, “I’m relieved since you said so. You have excellent medical skills and you’re the most responsible doctor I have ever seen. It’s all thanks to you this time.”
Francis looked at Azalea and Meadow coldly as he spoke.
