Chapter 1361 Dream

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

Helen was so angry as she lay on the bed that she couldn’t fall asleep. Michael had gone too far by directly asking Abbie to stay with him all night. Was he sure that she had no way to stop them?
She was tired of being insulted by Meadow. This matter couldn’t go on like this, so she must find a way to end it when Richard came over.
No matter what, she had to make Abbie break up with Michael!
Helen fell asleep in anger and dreamed of Abbie when she was still a child. Abbie was wearing a princess gown as she called out to Helen with a sweet voice.
Helen’s heart softened when she saw Abbie’s adorable face. She held Abbie in her arms and kissed her face, but Abbie suddenly broke away as soon as her lips touched Abbie’s face.
In an instant, Abbie suddenly grew up and became a beautiful lady. Helen couldn’t help praising her when she looked at Abbie’s delicate features. “My daughter is the most beautiful girl in the world!”
Abbie smiled brightly at her at first, but the smile on her face disappeared in a flash and her expression held a trace of sorrow. “Mom, I want to marry Michael! I really want to marry him!”
Michael was Azalea’s fiance, so how could Abbie marry him?
Helen shook her head resolutely and refused, “No!”
“But I really love him! Mom, I won’t marry anyone else and I have to be with him! If you don’t give me your blessing, I will stay single for the rest of my life!”
Helen felt that Abbie was being too absurd. She looked at Abbie sternly. “Even if you want to stay single forever, I will never allow you to marry Michael!”
“How could you do this to me? Mom, how could you?” Abbie’s face was full of tears and Helen felt as if her heart was breaking.
“I’ll leave this place if you don’t agree to my marriage to Michael!”
“Where are you going?” Helen was flustered.
“I… of course, I’m going to the place I belong!” Abbie replied.
Helen watched as Abbie slowly left. When she turned around, she saw Abbie slowly climb up a tall cliff alone and the pit was bottomless. Abbie’s white dress fluttered in the wind and the sadness on her face became more apparent.
“Why? Why are you forcing me to do this? You’re my family, so why are you doing this to me? Do you all want to see me die?” Abbie asked softly.
Helen was shocked. She wanted to call out to Abbie, but she couldn’t make a sound. She wanted to run up to her, but she couldn’t move her hands and feet.
Helen could only watch as Abbie walked step by step towards the edge of the cliff. Then, Abbie stopped at the edge of the cliff and turned to look at Helen. “Goodbye, mom!”
Abbie jumped off the cliff as soon as she finished speaking.
“No!” Helen screamed and sat up with her forehead covered in sweat.
She panted and wiped the cold sweat from her forehead. The sun had already risen the window. It was just a dream! It wasn’t real!
But why did she have such a dream?
Helen felt a little uneasy. Could something have happened to Abbie?
Helen immediately grabbed her phone on the bedside table and dialled Abbie’s number, but the call was not connected.
She called Michael, who answered instantly, “Auntie!”
“Is Abbie with you?”
“No, she’s not!”
“How come? Michael, please tell me the truth. I’m very worried now.”
“Auntie, Abbie is really not here!”
“Where… where could she go if she isn’t with you? She left home last night.” The fear in Helen’s heart suddenly increased.
Michael was also shocked. “Are you sure?”
“Why would I lie to you? Michael, don’t scare me. Did Abbie really not meet you last night?”
“No! Auntie, don’t worry. I’ll be right there.”
Helen was filled with desperation when she heard Michael say that Abbie wasn’t with him. She opened the door with a pale face. “Everyone! Go and find Miss right now! Hurry up!”
The servants heard Helen’s voice and hurried upstairs. “Madam! What happened?”
“Miss is missing. Call the police immediately and arrange for someone to search for her immediately!”
The bodyguards in the villa immediately began to search for traces of Abbie while the servants called the police.
The police immediately rushed over to help with the investigation after they received the call. After they checked the surveillance footage, they discovered that Abbie had gotten into a taxi from the back door and left.
The police found the taxi driver by searching the license plate number of the car. The taxi driver admitted that he took Abbie to the beach, but he left after she got out of the car. No one knew where Abbie went in the end.
Of course, the police did not believe the taxi driver’s words. They conducted a strict investigation on the taxi driver, only to find that he had taken another passenger after that. Hence, he was not a potential suspect.
Abbie was last seen on the beach. The police searched the entire area, but all traces were gone because they were washed away by the violent winds and waves.
The police had no choice but to retrieve check Abbie’s phone records. As soon as they went through the message and call logs, they found out that Josephine had planned a meetup with Abbie.
Josephine was the one who wanted to meet Abbie, so they had to find her right away. The police immediately began to search for Josephine in hopes it would lead to Abbie’s whereabouts.
Michael drove to the Clark family’s villa after receiving the call from Helen and he tried to call Abbie on the way there. Naturally, the call couldn’t be connected.
He was very anxious and he sped up as he drove to the Clark family’s villa.
The bodyguards of the Clark family had been sent out to look for Abbie, leaving only Helen and a servant behind in the villa.
They were looking for clues in Abbie’s room and the servant said, “Miss went to see a doctor yesterday because she was not feeling well. How could she go out alone at night? It doesn’t make sense.”
“Let’s look around first. Maybe she left a note!” Helen didn’t dare to negatively and she tried her best to be optimistic. “Take a look at Miss’ drawer first.”
The servant immediately opened Abbie’s bedside table and looked through it. There were a few bottles of medicine in the drawer which were prescribed to Abbie yesterday at the hospital. The servant’s face suddenly changed when she picked up the bottle and took a look at it. “Pregnancy medication? Why would it be here?”
Helen jumped in fright and snatched the medicine bottle from the servant’s hand. She looked at it carefully. “Damn it!”
This was something that Helen had always been worried about. Was Abbie pregnant?
Helen hurried downstairs with the medicine bottle in her hand and Michael coincidentally opened the door at the same time. She immediately shouted, “Michael, did you make Abbie pregnant!?”
