Valeria was startled upon hearing Hayden’s voice. She turned her head around in panic. “Hayden… I didn’t… I didn’t say anything.”
Hayden came over and coincidentally heard her murmurs clearly. He said with a stern look, “I have heard it all. You just said that Braelynn is connected by blood with Fandrey and Deborah. What is going on? What did you and William hide from me?”
“Hmm… Well… Dad, you must have misheard me, I…”
“Valeria, I am not a fool. I sensed that something fishy must be going on when William had told me to deem Braelynn as my goddaughter. I did not voice my query out as William did not want to tell me about it. I am now curious about this matter after hearing your murmurs. Valeria, do be honest with me. Is Braelynn a family member of the Floyd family?”
“I… well…” Valeria hesitated. She immediately regretted being so careless about this matter.
“Are you still planning to keep it a secret from me? I can already guess things out even if you decide to not let your mouth loose. Braelynn does look a lot like Emily. She is the daughter of Emily and Callum, isn’t she?”
Valeria knew that there was no point in keeping it a secret as Hayden was a quick-witted person. “Yes! Braelynn is the biological daughter of Emily and Callum.”
“I have guessed it long ago. It would be impossible for Veronica and Ornard to leave Emily’s daughter alone to peacefully reside in the Floyd family judging by their cunning and vicious personalities. Angel, that pretentious person must be on the same team with Ornard and Veronica, right?”
“I guess so. I am not too sure about the details as well.” Valeria squeezed out a smile as she was worried that Hayden would be upset at her.
Hayden was not feeling mad at all. He sighed and said, “What a pity! Deborah and Fandrey had been raising the granddaughter of others for more than twenty years. They would be fuming with anger should they know about this matter!”
“You’re right. William did not want to tell them beforehand as he was afraid that Deborah and Fandrey would be taken aback about this secret. He is planning to let Braelynn and them have a meetup session to get to know each other as starters. He will then try to come clean to them at perfect timing. Hayden, please don’t be mad as us as we did not intentionally hide it from you.”
“I’m feeling fine. There is no point in me being upset as this matter has nothing to do with me after all. Well, this is karma for the Floyd family for treating Matilda poorly in the past! They did not see this coming that’s for sure!”
“They must be blindsided as they are the ones in the spotlight! How pitiful of them to be deceived all this while. Veronica and Ornard are the worst for being such s*umbags. We must expose their true identities and do not have any mercy on them.”
“I have interacted with Ornard before and he is absolutely a pain in the neck. He is not merely seeking revenge for Veronica by scheming against the Floyd family in such a cunning manner. His ultimate objective is to get ahold of the Floyd family’s wealth, right? I need to warn William to be extra cautious regarding this matter.”
Deborah and Fandrey had gone out to meet with Valeria in the evening. Angel was alone to have dinner at home.
Madelyn came back from the hospital when Angel just sat at the dining table and had a few mouthfuls of her dinner.
Angel swiftly lost her appetite upon seeing Madelyn arriving home. She placed her cutleries down and was about to head upstairs.
Madelyn was not aware that her return had a negative impact on Angel’s appetite. She approached Angel with a polite smile and asked, “Angel, why would you stop having your dinner when you just had so little of it? Are you feeling under the weather?”
Madelyn voiced her question out of concern. However, Angel had heard it differently.
That bitch. Was Madelynn cursing her to fall sick? Angel would have given her a big slap in the face in normal circumstances. However, Emily was currently the triumph card of Madelyn.
Angel needed to please Madelyn to be on the good side of Emily. She suppressed her anger and said sarcastically, “Madelyn, why are you cursing me out? Would you feel delighted upon knowing that I am sick?”
“No! That is not what I have meant. Angel, you have misunderstood me.”
“That is enough and stop following me around. You have a strange scent that smells terrible. You need to take a bath and change into a new set of clothing.”
Angel headed upstairs after snapping back at Madelyn. She then closed the door with anger.
Madelyn’s face twitched a little upon hearing the loud bang coming from upstairs. She was initially very excited to see her daughter but she did not expect to be criticized like this. Her delightfulness had disappeared within a blink of an eye and she was feeling extremely disappointed.
Angel did not give a damn about Madelyn. She went back to her bedroom and shut the door. She suddenly had a brazen thought to text Richard after calming herself down.
Angel had yet to make up her mind about what to message him about. There was suddenly a WhatsApp notification of an incoming text message that was from Pierre.
Angel knew who he was but she did not know why would he contact her. She did not blacklist Pierre and eventually saved his number.
Pierre swiftly sent another message which contained an emoji alongside a few words, “Angel, hello there!”
“Pierre, hi there!” Angel greeted him politely.
“Angel, you must be feeling puzzled on why I would contact you via WhatsApp all of a sudden, right? I shall not continue to be mysterious and come clean to you. I reckon that we will soon become relatives. Hence, it would be best for us in getting to know each other first to be on good terms.”
The Anthony family had no business with her. Why would Pierre mention being relatives?
Angel reverted back, “Pierre, are you drunk? Why are you spouting nonsense?”
“I am not talking rubbish and I am actually being very serious on this topic. We would not only become relatives in the future, but you may also have lower seniority than me. You may have to call me by honorifics in the future.”
“Pierre, get straight to the point!” Angel was furious as she thought that Pierre was trying to mess with her.
“Why are you so upset? Angel, it looks like you are indeed unaware of the entire situation. Don’t you know what Ornard has been up to in the country? I shall share my findings with you since you have no idea about this matter. Ornard arrived in the country to have a hot and intimate time with Paisley.
Angel widened her eyes upon reading the message. “Do you have any idea what you are currently talking about?”
“Of course, I know. I even have a video of Ornard and Paisley spending time together,” Pierre immediately sent a video to her.
Angel clicked on the footage but she did not see Ornard in it. She had instead seen Ornard’s trustworthy bodyguard in opening the door for Paisley.
“This is it? There may be a possibility of Paisley hooking up with the bodyguard of Ornard,” She snapped back.
“You are always welcome to see the truth for yourself if you are feeling skeptical, aren’t you? I am currently at the entrance of your house. Do come out and I shall give you a lift in watching the interesting show of Ornard and Paisley hooking up with each other. By the way, I would also like to tell you about a big secret that would definitely make you feel utterly surprised.”
Angel had initially refused to believe his words. However, she had a second thought since Pierre was now offering to bring her to see things in real-time.
Angel picked up her bag and strode down the stairs. She heard someone on the left sounding the car honk when she walked out of the gate.
She looked in the direction of the sound. Pierre poked his head out of the window and waved at her.
Angel marched towards him and said, “Pierre, I shall give you a warning beforehand. Do not f*cking lie to me! I will not let you off the hook should you mess with me!”
“I am not daring enough to deceive you. Do hop into the car right now! Let me give you a ride to grasp the actual situation! I can promise you that the interesting show tonight would definitely be an unforgettable scene for you.”
“Cut the crap! Let’s go!”
