Meanwhile, Valeria stood up with a smile when Fandrey and Deborah entered the hotel’s VIP room. “Good evening, Grandpa, Grandma!”
“Hi, Valeria!” Deborah smiled as she walked over to Valeria and took her hand affectionately. “Valeria has gotten tanner.”
“Really? William said that I look the same.”
“You’re tanner than before, but you’re still fair. Your skin is so flawless, and you don’t have any blemishes throughout your pregnancy. I’m so envious.”
“Thank you, Grandma! I brought gifts for both of you.” Valeria took out the gifts and handed them to Deborah.
“Thank you!” Deborah was happy when she opened the gifts. Valeria had given her a special bag and a bottle of perfume while Fandrey received a hat and a unique pipe.
Both of them liked Valeria’s gifts very much and they chatted for a while longer. Fandrey mentioned William after a while, “Why hasn’t William come yet?”
“He went to pick up Braelynn and he should be there soon.”
William entered with Braelynn.
“Grandma, Grandpa, nice to meet you! I’m late because I was stuck in a traffic jam!”
“It’s okay, we just arrived as well,” Fandrey answered with a smile. His gaze fell on Braelynn’s face, and she greeted with a smile, “Hello, Madam, Sir!”
“Hello, Ms. Saunders!” Fandrey was neutral towards Braelynn and he greeted her with a smile, but Deborah didn’t like Braelynn very much.
However, she did not show her feelings because William and Valeria were there. Instead, she just nodded with a smile.
The waiter began to serve the dishes when everyone arrived.
William and Fandrey talked about the company’s matters while Deborah and Valeria talked about fashion.
Braelynn sat quietly and listened to them. From time to time, she would help Valeria get some soup and vegetables.
When Fandrey saw how carefully Braelynn treated Valeria, he couldn’t help but glance at her a few more times.
Braelynn looked very similar to Emily, so Fandrey was guessing William’s intentions. Logically speaking, Braelynn was Hayden’s goddaughter and had nothing to do with them, so William had no reason to bring Braelynn over for dinner with them.
William had his own reasons for doing things and Fandrey always felt that there was a purpose behind his actions.
He did not even think that Braelynn could be part of the Floyd family. Instead, he guessed that William wanted Braelynn to cooperate with the Floyd family for business.
Braelynn was working in Valeria’s company, so Fandrey would naturally not refuse the cooperation.
He had been waiting for William to take the initiative to mention this, but William didn’t bring it up until they finished dinner.
William suggested watching an opera play after dinner. Since Fandrey and Deborah were fans of the opera, they naturally would not reject it. The four of them went to the theatre and the show was titled ‘The Juniper Tree’.
Valeria secretly scolded William when she saw the title of the performance. She looked at Fandrey and Deborah to their reactions.
Fandrey had a thoughtful expression on his face when he saw the title of the play, but Deborah did not think anything of it. She said happily, “I’ve watched a TV series about this play before and it’s quite interesting. I haven’t watched this before and I’m sure I’ll enjoy it today.”
“The French Opera has performed this as well. Grandma, all of us can watch it with you one day.”
These words made Fandrey look at Braelynn. Did William mean that he would bring Braelynn along?
Why did Fandrey feel something strange about this?
Youngsters rarely liked to watch operas. He had known William for a long time, so he had never heard that William had such a hobby before.
Furthermore, he knew that Valeria only liked to watch concerts and plays, but he had never heard of Valeria being a fan of operas before. He and Deborah were not very interested in these performances as well, and William usually did things that catered to their pleasure. What was the reason William chose this performance that was not very popular today?
Fandrey’s gaze paused on the title of the drama again. He always felt that something was wrong, but he couldn’t pinpoint the reason why.
Meanwhile, Angel got in Pierre’s’s car and went straight to the Anthony family’s villa. She parked the car on the opposite side of Ornard’s villa while Pierre handed Angel a bottle of water and a large bag of snacks. “Ms. Floyd, you can eat some snacks and wait to see the drama unfold!”
“Are we going to sit by and wait for them? How can you expect me to do this?” Angel sneered.
“Let’s just watch and I’ve already prepared snacks for you. If you don’t want them, I’ll eat them myself.” Pierre said as he threw a peanut into his mouth.
Angel rolled her eyes at him. “Pierre, when did you find that Paisley had something to do with my uncle?”
“It’s a long story. Are you interested?”
“Why don’t you summarize it?”
“I accidentally discovered that Paisley would go out at night, so I began to tail her. I found that she would dress up glamorously to go next door every night. I spent a lot of time investigating and found out that the person living next door was Mr. Laban, your uncle. I immediately contacted you as soon as I knew the news.”
“What’s the purpose that you contacted me? Is it just to prove that Paisley is related to my uncle?”
“Not only that, but I want to be friends with you.”
Angel snorted. “Are you kidding? I mean, your relationship with Paisley seems to be very strained.”
“I don’t even want to deal with her at all and we’re completely against each other!”
“And what is the reason for that?”
“Are you playing dumb, Ms. Floyd? I am the son of the mistress and Paisley is a legitimate child. It’s natural for us to be enemies. Isn’t it normal for Paisley and me to hate each other?”
“Haha!” Angel gave a hollow laugh. “Since you and Paisley despise each other, have you never thought of dealing with her?”
“Of course! But I’ve never had a chance.” Pierre sighed.
“What do you mean? This is because you don’t have the ability. Hardy was protecting Paisley before, so I understand why you couldn’t deal with her. However, you can’t do it even though Hardy is in jail now. What does this mean?”
Pierre was not angry when Angel insulted him at all. “To be honest, Ms. Floyd, I could still target her before. However, I don’t dare to hurt her because she’s now with your uncle. She’ll be part of the Laban family once she marries your uncle, and I don’t think I will ever have a chance in my life.”
“The wife of the Laban family? Does she deserve it?” Angel got angry.
