Chapter 945 Cooperation

Natasya was taken into the interrogation room upon arrival at the police station. She refused to speak and continued playing dumb.
She still refused her guilty acts. The police eventually presented the evidence of her instructing someone to commence the murder plan. She panicked upon glancing at it. How did the police know about this?
This was a serious matter and it would be game over should she admit to her actions. However, there was still a chance to turn things around if she denied the accusation. She chose the latter option and decided to keep her mouth shut.
She remained indifferent and the interrogation personnel eventually left the room.
Natasya had been alone in the interrogation room for a few hours. The door was suddenly being pushed open and Bevan came in alongside a stranger. Natasya was pleased upon seeing a familiar face and greeted, “Bevan!”
He politely replied, “Miss Anderson, you have been through a lot. Mr. Anthony has instructed me to bring a lawyer in bailing you out!”
“That’s great! Can we leave now?” Natasya was feeling over the moon.
“Nope.” Bevan shook his head and continued speaking, “The lawyer just had a word with the officers and he was being told that your case is a serious one. They refuse to let you out from here.”
“What should I do then?” Natasya’s joy vanished into thin air in a blink of an eye. “Bevan, you have to help me out! Tell Hardy to get me out from this mess!”
Bevan noticed the anxious look on her face and immediately comforted her, “Miss Anderson, please calm down and hear me out first. All hopes are not lost as we have some tricks under our sleeves to bail you out. However, you need to cooperate with us!”
“But how?” Natasya asked with a distressed expression on her face.
“The lawyer and I have just come up with something. Mr. Anthony has agreed on this idea and it all depends on you now. Well, the authorities are not willing to let you walk free as you are still in your sound mind. Miss Anderson, if you happen to be suddenly ill…”
Bevan stopped talking and glanced at Natasya. She knew what he was trying to say and lowered her voice, “Bevan, I second this plan of yours. However, can you promise to get me out of here then?”
“Of course! Mr. Anthony will find a way to have you hospitalized in undergoing the necessary procedure. You shall lay low for a few days and we will plan our next move accordingly.”
Natasya was feeling hopeful and said, “When are you intending to commence the operation? I’ve had enough of this damn place and I’m dying to get out of here immediately.”
“It is not the right time yet.” Bevan shook his head and continued speaking, “You have to hang in there at least until tomorrow.”
“What? Are you saying that I have to stay in this miserable place for more than ten hours?” Natasya refused to remain at the police station as she felt like a h*llhole here.
Bevan smiled and said, “As the saying goes, patience is the key to success. Miss Anderson, we have to wait until tomorrow for precautionary measures. I would be suspected by the police should you suddenly fall ill after meeting with me.”
“Alright then.” Natasya compromised and questioned further, “What should I do tomorrow? Should I fall directly onto the ground and pretend to pass out?”
“Of course not. The police will spot you right at the beginning for such a lousy act. We need a promising plan to convince them that you are genuinely ill.” Bevan took something out of his pocket and continued speaking, “I have a pill with me, and it shall now be under your care. Remember to secretly consume it by tomorrow. You will be in the hospital by the time you regain your consiousness.”
“What type of medication is this?” Natasya asked.
“It can make your mouth foam. However, don’t worry as it will do no harm to your body. This is just a medication for emergency purposes.”
“Are you sure that there is no side effect upon consuming it?” Natasya questioned as she was feeling uncomfortable. She needed to remain alert as both she and Hardy were not lovers after all. There was no way for her to escape should Hardy plan on getting rid of her.
“Of course not! Miss Anderson, are you having second thoughts by suspecting that we have ulterior motives? You are clearly overthinking matters! You are here as you are suspected of murder, which has nothing to do with Mr. Anthony. He can always choose to stay at the sidelines and do nothing. However, he instructed me to bail you out with the help of a lawyer as he has feelings for you. He wants to help you out as it breaks his heart from seeing you being caught in trouble.”
Bevan had a stern look on his face and continued speaking, “Miss Anderson, you are at a crossroad for now. We will not persuade further should you decide to remain at the police station. Do choose wisely!”
Natasya was truthfully dying to get out of this miserable place. However, she thought hard about Hardy’s motive to rescue her out.
Hardy must have despised so much as she had schemed against him before. He would have felt over the moon upon receiving news that she was being arrested. He could have chosen to ignore her and go with the flow. It was highly unlikely for her to walk free since she had no one to back her up.
Hardy must have fallen in love with her as he had consumed the blood vermin. He instructed his men to save Natasya as he was unable to control his feelings towards her.
Natasya felt reassured upon thinking about it and agreed, “Alright, I’ll do as you say!”
The following scene took place at the Saunders family’s house. Gavin was feeling moody upon being sent back by Raymond.
His mind was occupied by his daughter’s matter that occurred just now. It would be a hard pill to swallow should Raelyn, who he had raised and adored for decades turned out not to be his biological daughter.
What could have possibly gone wrong? Why did Raelyn’s blood type differ from Gavin and his wife’s?
He was certain that his blood type was A as he had been attending annual checkups. Could there be some mistake regarding the blood type of his wife?
Technology and development were not that progressive decades ago. It might be possible that the hospital had jotted down the incorrect blood type of his wife.
Gain genuinely hoped that his speculation was correct. He was still convinced that Raelyn is his biological daughter.
He and his wife had given birth to Raelyn and shared the precious moments together. The couple went through the pregnancy process before getting to see their child for the first time.
He trusted his wife wholeheartedly and they were in a happy marriage when his wife was still alive. It was not possible for them to betray each other.
Hence, Raelyn might have a different blood type than them due to the fault of the hospital previously mentioned. Gavin eventually felt better upon thinking about it. He then went to his room and called it a day under Raymond’s persuasion.
Gavin was being woken up by the sound of a car engine the next morning. He dressed up before heading downstairs. It was seen that Arthur returned home with a DNA report in his hand.
“How is it?” Gavin asked while walking.
“The results are finally out.” Arthur handed the DNA report to him which was sealed into an envelope and said, “President Saunders and I have been waiting at the laboratory center alongside a few bodyguards. We have remained there throughout the entire time to prevent any possible mistakes from happening. Besides, we have also gotten a copy of footage from the surveillance camera as an extra precautionary measure. We did not check the result as we feel that it would be better for you to do the honor. The official report is in the sealed envelope.”
Gavin got hold of the envelope and took a seat before opening it. He first glanced at the title on the document, and his gaze followed the contents before eventually coming to the main part. He read the line of words that stated: It was confirmed that the above samples are not related to each other after a throughout DNA examination.
“But… how…” Gavin’s hands trembled.
