Raelyn was taken back and froze there. The man led on by grabbing her hand and began to harm herself with the dagger. The sound of slitting herself was as clear as day. The signal of sharp pain was sent throughout her body and she wanted to scream. The men, who were wearing white gloves quickly covered her mouth.
Raelyn couldn’t make a sound but kept twisting her body in an attempt to ease the throbbing sensation. They were in control and led the way for Raelyn to stab herself continuously.
Blood gushed out from the injured spots and she was in agony. The men did not stop and continued their objective. She had spiked every single part of her body several times.
It was not severe enough to kill her, but it was sufficient to let her experience a level of pain that was out of this world.
Raelyn was eventually injured as if she had tried to commit suicide. The two men loosened their grip and disappeared within a blink of an eye.
Raelyn held the dagger and crumbled onto the ground. She was in a weak state and started gasping for air. Arthur shouted at the top of his lungs, “Miss Saunders! Miss Saunders, what on earth are you doing? Please stop!”
“Oh My God! Miss Saunders has gone bonkers! I need back up here! Quick!” Arthur shouted and stumbled into the room. “Mr. Saunders, she no longer can think straight. I chatted briefly with her and she suddenly pulled out a knife and started stabbing herself!”
“What?” Gavin was taken aback and swiftly sprung up as he was about to have a look at the situation.
“Mr. Saunders, it is best if you just stay here as she currently has a weapon with her. It would be chaotic if she hurts you, right? We shall let the bodyguards check things out instead!” Arthur halted Gavin and instructed the bodyguards, “Head out and get ahold of the situation. Do not let Miss Saunders have the chance to continue hurting herself!”
Raelyn had already passed out and collapsed on the pool of blood. The bodyguards immediately reported such a situation to Gavin. He anxiously demanded, “Send her to the hospital! Immediately!”
Raelyn was then sent to the hospital with blood all over her body. Gavin was feeling distressed and swiftly gave his son a call. Archer answered the phone rather quickly, “Dad?”
“Arthur! Hurry up and head to the hospital quickly! Raelyn tried to take away her own life!”
Archer nodded and replied, “Noted. I’ll be there real soon!”
Raelyn was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. Gavin anxiously waited outside of the operating room and murmured, “How could this happen? I… I would have agreed on seeing her if I knew that she would react like this! It’s all my fault!”
“No one had seen it coming… Mr. Saunders, you need not beat yourself up for it!” Arthur comforted him.
“How could I not blame myself? She is the daughter whom I truly adore. There was never a strain of thought to abandon her like this despite the evil things that she had done. What should I do if something bad happens to her? I would have broken the promise that I have made towards my wife.”
Gavin was full of remorse while thinking about the negative outcome. Archer rushed over in a hurry alongside Natalie and Raymond. “Dad, what is the current status?”
“She was covered in blood and is now in the emergency department!” His eyes watered as he felt utterly guilty and continued speaking, “I did not expect her to react in such way. I would have agreed to meet with her if I knew that she would hurt herself!”
“Grandpa, please calm down. Everything will be all right! She would come out of it alive!” Raymond reached out to hold his grandfather and continued speaking, “Grandpa, do have a seat for now. Raelyn will be fine!”
Gavin eventually managed to sit down with the help of both Raymond and Archer. Raymond then instructed one of the bodyguards to pour a glass of water for his grandfather. Gavin only managed to have a sip of it and he then kept staring at the operating room.
The door was eventually being opened after half an hour has passed. The nurse came out and said, “We need to undergo a blood transfusion process as the patient is lacking in blood.”
“Why are you standing here and doing nothing then? Shouldn’t you commence the process right now?” Gavin roared.
“Well, we have just received a large number of patients who require a blood transfusion as well. The hospital is currently in depletion for both A and O blood types,” The nurse replied with an apologetic look on her face.
“What? Why don’t you call up another hospital to seek assistance then?” Gavin snapped back.
“Wait a minute! How could her blood type be A? Mum is an O blood type as well as dad, right? How could her blood type differ from the both of you?” Archer queried.
Gavin was also confused and asked, “You’re right. Could there be a mistake? How could she be a type A blood person?”
“I don’t think so. Blood type is a straightforward manner and it is highly unlikely for us to get it mixed up,” The nurse replied.
“Alright, let’s not get stuck in this matter for now and have her get transfused first. Let me make a call to expedite the process.” Archer picked up his mobile phone and contacted a director from another hospital. The blood was delivered to them in a blink of an eye as it was all part of the plan. They were determined to rescue Raelyn as it was not the time for her to go yet.
The procedure eventually came to an end. The doctor came out from the operating room and announced, “The patient is finally in a stable condition. She has successfully survived through the danger stage!”
Gavin breathed a sigh of relief and said,”Thank God! That is great news!”
“Yes indeed!” Archer chimed in and decided to bring up the previous topic, “Dad, I am still confused about the blood type matter. The hospital would not make such a silly mistake. Besides, it is impossible for both you and mummy in giving birth to a child with type A blood type. What exactly is going on?”
Gavin frowned upon hearing about it. He was previously very anxious but calmed down upon knowing that Raelyn would be fine.
He waited at the door and personally saw the blood that was being brought in for his daughter. The hospital did not get it mixed up as Raelyn was eventually being rescued. How could he have a daughter who has a different blood type than him and his wife then?
Could it be that Raelyn was not his child after all?
Whose child would it be if it’s not his own? Gavin struggled to come up with an answer.
Archer suggested, “Dad, I have a sensible explanation in mind. Could the child got swapped after mummy had given birth last time?”
“Is it possible?” Gavin asked.
“Of course, I have read such news before. Their lives and fates got mixed up before eventually getting to know the truth. It is not bizarre as anything can happen,” Raymond chimed in.
“But… That is quite impossible, right?” A look of hesitation flashed across Gavin’s face.
He had raised Raelyn ever since she was little. It would be ridiculous if she turned out to have no relationship with him, right?
“Well, she neither looks like you nor mummy. She also does not share the same blood type as the both of you. Don’t you think that it is rather strange? Let’s have a check at it to obtain a logical answer,” Archer suggested.
Gavin pondered for a moment and eventually agreed on this idea. He nodded and said, “Alright! Let’s undergo a thorough DNA test then!”
Archer let out a sigh of relief and said, “Raymond, do send your grandpa back home to have a rest. I shall be in charge of this matter. Rest assured as I shall inform you immediately should I receive any updates about it!”
Raymond stretched out his hand to help his grandfather up from his seat. Gavin stood up and instructed Arthur after taking a few steps forward, “You shall stay here to assist Archer.”
“Noted!” Arthur agreed and remained in the hospital. Raymond then supported his grandfather and they eventually headed back home.
