It was best to strike when the iron was hot. Raelyn knew that her current miserable state would be her most powerful weapon to deceive Gavin. She decided to endure the pain and injuries for the greater good. She stumbled and eventually left the hospital.
She needed to take a cab and head back to B City immediately. She decided to meet Gavin and tell him how sorrowful her condition was.
She planned to meet with Archer and Natalie to admit her mistakes after getting Gavin on her team. She needed to humble down and win their trust. They were kind-hearted persons and Raelyn needed to try her best in begging for their mercy. It was hoped that they will let their guard down and eventually accept her in being part of the family again.
The following scene had taken place in the Saunders family’s house. Gavin had yet to receive the news about Devon’s arrest and Raelyn’s hospitalization.
He was feeling moody despite not knowing about the breaking news. He did not have much during dinner and went to the garden for a stroll.
Arthur noticed his unusual behavior and gave Archer a call. “Your father doesn’t seem to be in a good mood today and I have no idea how to cheer him up. President Saunders, care to come back and spend some time with your father?”
Archer pondered for a moment as he was well aware of the temper of his father. It was not necessarily wise to make a trip back home as things may become worse. He said, “My dad is an ill-tempered person and he may not be pleased upon our arrival. He might even think that we are there to mock him instead. Let’s wait until he has calmed down for a bit and please continue to keep an eye on him. By the way, Raelyn is expected to pay him a visit soon. Do inform me immediately when she arrives!”
Arthur nodded and they eventually ended the phone call after chatting briefly with each other.
Natalie was beside Archer and asked, “Have you and William finally come up with a plan?”
“Yes. Raelyn will get ahold of my father latest by tomorrow based on William’s speculation. I have instructed Arthur to keep an eye on the situation and we shall make a move upon her arrival.”
Natalie shook her head and chuckled upon hearing about it. “You’re so into it just like William despite no longer being a youngster. Why are you guys paying so much attention to it? I’m now worried whether your father could accept the truth or not. This is quite a shocking piece of news after all.”
“My father is not that fragile as he used to be an excellent businessman after all. He will eventually accept the reality despite being shocked at first. It is best to talk things through with him to expedite the speed of coming to terms with it.”
Archer sighed and continued speaking, “I am not particularly worried about my father as he is a tough person. It is only a matter of time before he calms down and accepts the truth. I am now very curious about my biological sister… I don’t know if she is still alive or not.”
“One should believe in karma. There will be good news about your sister as your parents are kind-hearted people!” Natalie stretched out to hold his hand in hopes to comfort him. Archer took her hand and the couple was ready to head upstairs. William’s call suddenly came in.
“Arthur, I just received news that Raelyn has been discharged from the hospital. She has caught a cab and is heading to B City right now. I reckon that she is going to perform a glamorous act on Gavin real soon. Well, it looks like the plan shall be commenced tonight!”
Archer did not expect Raelyn to be so quick on her feet. He immediately asked, “William, have you arranged everything accordingly? There was nothing that we have missed out on, right?”
“Don’t worry about it. Raelyn will definitely have a taste of her own medicine. It would be ridiculous if she suffers no punishment based on the things that she had done to get rid of my mother!”
William sneered and continued speaking, “You should contact Arthur to give him a heads up! I will be arranging my men to head over soon.”
It took more than three hours for Raelyn in returning from Bricksburg to B CIty. She had been reciting her speech nonstop along the way there. The taxi came to a halt and she paid the fare before hopping down from the vehicle. She put on a miserable look and staggered to ring the doorbell.
Mr. Saunders was absent-mindedly watching TV in the living room. He heard the doorbell ringing and glanced at Arthur before asking, “Who is it?”
“Let me have a look.” Arthur went over and glanced at the monitor. It was seen that Raelyn’s face was swollen with a defeated look on her face. He reported, “It is Miss Saunders and she is seen to be in a messy situation. What on earth is she trying to do by deliberately making herself look like this?”
Gavin had a displeased look upon hearing about it. There was no doubt that Raelyn came here to put on an act again.
His patience finally reached a breaking point upon recalling how he was being deceived by Raelyn numerous times. Gavin replied with an annoyed look on her face, “Why is she here? Didn’t I warn her to not set foot here ever again?”
“I guess she might have some new ways after discussing with her family to obtain your wealth or company shares. Mr. Saunders, what should I do?” Arthur intentionally badmouthed Raelyn.
“Let’s just ignore her!” Gavin waved his hand. Raelyn’s cry came from outside as soon as Gavin finished speaking, “Dad, I am Raelyn! Please let me in!”
A trace of dismay flashed across Gavin’s face upon hearing her pitiful voice. “This is absolutely ridiculous! How did she end up like this?”
“The Anderson Family must be the mastermind behind this drama. They must have given her ideas to cause trouble again! Mr. Saunders, I do not think that it is a pleasant thing for her to make a fuss here. How about I head out and attempt to persuade her?”
“Alright then!” Gavin agreed.
Arthur immediately went outside as soon as Gavin had agreed to his proposal. Raelyn wanted to head in but was halted by Arthur. “Mr. Saunders does not wish to see you. It would be nice if you could leave him alone from now onwards!”
“I don’t believe you! I demand in meeting with my kind-hearted dad and I will only be convinced if he tells me about it in person!” Raelyn insisted on getting ahold of her father as she did not want to give up just yet.
Arthur sneered and said, “One should know when to step in and when to back off. You are truthfully one of a kind based on your shameless behavior. Do you possibly think that your father will give way when you are here to make a fuss? In your dreams!”
Raelyn was upset and pointed at his nose after being insulted. “You… How brave of you in giving me a lecture!”
“Excuse me? You are a shameless person and even slept with the Anderson brothers. How could you feel indifferent based on the disgusting things that you have done? You should have been long gone should you really have some dignity. Why are you still trying to make a fool of yourself?”
“Alright then! You shall wait patiently as I will give you h*ll soon!” Raelyn snapped and pointed at Arthur.
Arthur sneered and said, “Challenge accepted! There is nothing left for your father to get swayed by you apart from your death. Are you willing to take away your life then? Things would have been easier should you choose this option. However, an unrepentant person would value her life more than anything else. Don’t you think so?”
Raelyn felt agitated and raised her hand in an attempt to hit Arthur. He swiftly stepped aside and said, “Well then, do not blame me for having no mercy on you. Strike now!”
Two well-built men came from the side within a blink of an eye and managed to seize Raelyn down. One of them took out a dagger and forcefully placed it on her hand.
