Raymond volunteered to give Talitha a ride to Gavin’s house. He parked the car a few steps away from the house and Talitha eventually hopped down from the vehicle.
Raymond sent a message to Arthur while waiting in the car. “Talitha is going to seek for grandpa as per my instruction. Do open the door and let her in later. By the way, keep an eye on her and record their conversation as I would need a copy for reference later.”
Arthur accepted his request as usual and replied, “Mr. Saunders, be rest assured. I will keep a close look at Talitha.”
She headed towards the villa entrance and was ready to reach out and press on the doorbell. She then only realized that the door had already been opened. She desperately hoped that no one would attend to her and return back to Raymond’s car. However, her dream did not come through and she pushed the door open before heading into the house.
She walked past through the garden in the courtyard and saw Gavin who was weeding there. He did not notice Talitha’s arrival as his back was against her. On the other hand, both Oreo and Mocha began to howl upon seeing her.
Gavin turned his head around and was stunned at her presence. She quickly seized the opportunity and knelt down hard on the ground, “Grandpa! I need your help! It’s going to be the end for me!”
“What are you doing? Get up right now!” Gavin was actually annoyed at her. However, he reached out to help her up as his heart ached upon seeing the miserable look on her face.
Talitha insisted to continue kneeling and said, “Grandpa, you have to help me out! My life would be over if you turn a blind eye towards me! Please!”
“Get up right now. Let’s head inside and we shall have a chat about it.” Gavin supported her up with a sullen face before heading towards the living room.
Arthur was inside the house with a head that was being bandaged due to the accident. He immediately prepared two glasses of water upon seeing both of them. Talitha knelt down on the carpet and told Gavin everything that Natasya had done to her and the child in her belly. She cried and said, “Grandpa, you have no idea what I have been through nowadays. I’ve been treated so viciously by a sibling of my own and I am utterly heartbroken by it!”
Gavin had a gloomy expression on his face and said, “What did your parents do when the tragedy happened? Are they just planning to sit back and let Natasya create chaos as she pleases?”
“I have always been an unimportant child in the eyes of my parents. They don’t take me seriously as they are biased towards Natasya. My sister has always received assistance and support from my parents. They even suggested the idea of me leaving Hardy just so that Natasya could replace me as his girlfriend. My sister would definitely get rid of me should I disobey her instruction. Grandpa, I’m begging you to help me out! I’m genuinely on the brink of death right now!”
“They have definitely failed as parents. How could they have the heart to mistreat their child just like that?” Gavin was upset and continued speaking, “I’ll contact your mother in demanding her to come over right now!”
Talitha immediately stopped him and explained, “Grandpa, it would do me no good if you call her over. She would despise me forever should she know that I came to seek for your help!”
Gavin was feeling suspicious and questioned, “Talitha, are you spewing nonsense to me right now? Is that why you don’t have the guts to confront things with your mother?”
“No, well… Grandpa, did you give my mother sixty million worth of funds just now?”
“Yes.”
The final thread of guiltiness towards Raelyn had disappeared into thin air upon hearing his reply. Talitha was initially feeling skeptical about Raymond’s claim but it looked like he was telling the truth. It was evident that Raelyn did not treat her fairly.
You guys were very ruthless and don’t even take me seriously. Well, it’s time to do things an eye for an eye then. Talitha thought to herself and confessed, “Grandpa, my mother came here on purpose to swindle your money! She has always been thinking of ways to deceive you!”
“Wait, what do you mean? Didn’t your mother suffer a great loss from the plummet of bitcoin?”
“Of course not! How can she have the time and effort to purchase bitcoin judging by current circumstances? She is so focused on planning how to make her favorite daughter, Natasya, become Hardy’s lawful wife. She is highly interested in obtaining financial aid from you.”
Talitha was truly upset towards Raelyn for being stingy towards her. She did not see any incentive for keeping her mother away from trouble. She was not satisfied when Natasya had always been the one who get rewarded financially by Raelyn.
She decided to come clean about Raelyn’s ulterior motive. It was the best way to make things fairer between her sister and herself.
“My mom swindled money from you as she is very focused on how to let Natasya in becoming the future Mrs. Anthony. She plans to sponsor my sister for plastic surgery and provide her with a massive dowry upon marriage. Her objective is not just the funds that you have given to her, but also the company shares that are currently under your ownership.”
“What? Are you telling me the truth?” Gavin was dumbfounded.
“Of course. Both my mother and Natasya are the masterminds behind it. My sister told my mother the idea of swindling money from you. She knew that you are easily persuaded as you are a soft-hearted person. She also plans to enhance the tension in the relationship between you and your son. The ownership of shares will eventually be transferred to my mother as long as you cut ties with him. By the way, she has always been eyeing your company shares ever since I was little.”
Talitha decided to go all-out and continued speaking, “My mother is a ruthless person and does not even feel guilty upon lying to you. She would not back down and may even get worse. You might have a change of heart should you call her over and talk things through. It will really be the end for me as she is very good at twisting her words.”
Gavin was upset and said, “I did not see this coming… Raelyn is indeed a vicious and terrible person! Why would she do this? How could she have the heart to do such a thing?”
He then recalled how he was countlessly being fooled by his daughter. He was so pissed off that he crumbled on the sofa and took a few deep breaths.
Arthur had been standing aside and witnessing the conversation without saying a word. He then immediately rushed over while opening a tablet bottle and gave an express calming pill to Gavin.
He was quick on his feet and ignited the car engine as preparation for Gavin’s visit to the hospital. The medication soon kicked in and Gavin felt slightly better.
He waved his hand at Arthur and said, “Don’t worry! It’s not the time for me to face God yet! Anyway, I am utterly disappointed at Raelyn.”
Gavin felt displeased as he had been siding with Raelyn all this while. Her daughter was the reason that he was currently still on bad terms with Archer and his family.
He was still in his sound mind and knew that something fishy was going on. Talitha must have a good reason to come clean about Raelyn’s ulterior motives out of the blue. Gavin decided to figure things out in order to have a non-biased view of the entire matter.
Gavin composed his thoughts and enquired Talitha, “Let’s skip the topic about the tension between you and your mother for a while. What do you currently have in mind then?”
“Well, I’m just worried that Natasya may do harm towards me. Grandpa, please protect me from getting hurt as I am too weak to fight back.”
“I will not let them have their way since you have come clean to me. You have my word and need not worry about it!”
“Grandpa, thank you so much!” Talitha was feeling grateful towards him. Gavin then instructed the bodyguards in sending Talitha back home and emphasized that her safety was a top priority.
Talitha eventually left the house but Gavin was feeling deeply troubled about it. He gave Raelyn a call and demanded, “Come to my house right away!”
