“But… I don’t have the guts in confessing everything to grandpa. He will definitely give me an earful! I am intimidated by him…” Talitha was genuinely afraid of Gavin.
“What?” Raymond squinted and chuckled. How ridiculous of her to come up with such a reason!
Did Talitha assume him to be a foolish person? He sneered before speaking, “Alright then! I guess there is no point for us to continue this conversation further.”
“Raymond, please don’t go! You have my word, okay?” Talitha panicked and eventually gave in.
Raymond suppressed the displeased feeling towards her and instructed the staff to give her a glass of water. He then picked up his phone to send William a message.
“Talitha came to me and proposed to become a team in getting rid of Natasya and I have an idea in mind. She will visit my grandfather to expose Raelyn’s motives. I am concerned that I may risk ruining your plan and hence I would like to obtain your advice. What do you think?”
“That’s quite a good idea! It is doable and it might help me out greatly,” William immediately reverted back.
Raymond felt glad upon receiving the green light from William. He wanted to confirm things once again, “Are you sure about that?”
“Yes. You need not worry about it.”
Raymond eventually had the confidence to commence his plan. He put away his phone and glanced at Talitha.
“Talitha, you need to show your self-worth if you are interested to cooperate with me. Why should I help you out when there is no offer from you on the table? Are you expecting me to believe you based on how you had schemed against me last time? Don’t you think that is ridiculous? We have nothing else to discuss further if you are reluctant to tell grandpa about the truth. Goodbye!”
Talitha knew that Raymond must have something in his mind judging by the way how he wanted to use her. However, she had no bargaining power and it would be game over for her real soon. She gritted her teeth and agreed, “Okay then, you have my word. I’ll pay grandpa a visit and tell him the things that Raelyn had done.”
Raymond smiled sarcastically and said, “Let’s head towards his house right now. I’m expecting a glamorous performance from you.”
Thomas was anxious upon receiving news that Emily was being hospitalized due to a car accident. He quickly rushed over from Misurton and eventually arrived at the hospital. He heard voices inside the room upon making his way to the ward. He peeked through the glass window and realized that Callum was standing in front of the hospital bed.
He was stunned upon the sight of Callum and froze at the door. He then turned around and left.
Callum arrived at the hospital upon receiving the latest updates about Emily from his bodyguards. She was still asleep when he arrived at her hospital ward. He walked towards the bed and gently reached out his hand to caress her face.
She immediately opened her eyes as she felt a stranger’s touch. She had a confused look on her face upon seeing Callum. She composed herself within a split second and weakly helped herself up. She asked, “Why are you here?”
“I came over as I heard that you were met with an accident.”
“What? Who told you about it? Have you been following me all these while?” Emily questioned.
“Of course not. Why would I tail behind you? I came to the hospital for some official matters and coincidentally got to know that you have been hospitalized. I then decided to pay you a visit as I was feeling worried.” Callum lied through his teeth.
Emily was not convinced at all and said, “Mr. Floyd, you are not in a position to be concerned about me. I would appreciate it if you leave now for unnecessary troubles to arise!”
“Emy!”
“Stop calling me that! I would feel much comfortable if you address me by my real name!” Emily cut straight to the chase and continued, “Please leave me alone right now if you would not wish to put me in an awkward spot!”
Callum stared at her for a while and eventually left the hospital ward without saying a word. Emily pointed to the flowers and fruits on the bedside table and said, “Please take this away with you too!”
“Are you really planning to be that cold towards me?” Callum stopped and asked while looking at her.
“Of course. Do you assume that I’m so naive to continue crossing paths with a man full of lies? Callum, I despise you so much ever since you had betrayed me in the past! However, my hatred towards you has faded since it has been so many years ago. After all, holding a grudge against someone requires energy and attention. Let’s be strangers as I no longer wish to tire myself out.”
Callum was heartbroken upon hearing her words. He turned around and strode out of the ward.
The bodyguards swiftly opened the car door upon seeing Callum arriving at the parking lot. He hopped onto the vehicle and eventually left the hospital.
He was feeling troubled after having the conversation with Emily just now. He returned to Wolf Group with a sullen look on his face.
Fandrey was playing cards with Deborah in the living room. He then asked Callum casually upon seeing him arriving at home, “Callum, you’re finally back. Where did you go just now?”
“I’m not in the mood for a chitchat,” Callum replied and marched towards his bedroom.
Fandrey placed the card down from his hand. He sensed that Callum was feeling under the weather and asked, “What’s wrong with him?”
“I have no idea. Who do you think that may have gotten onto his nerves? Could it be William?” Deborah guessed.
“I shall ask Sammuel about it.” Fandrey got up and went to the study room before giving Sammuel a call.
“Did you keep an eye on Callum today? I don’t think he is in a good mood. Do you happen to know why?”
“Mr. Floyd, I was just about to report this matter to you. Emily is currently in B CIty and they met briefly in Wolf Group just now.”
“What?” Fandrey had a displeased look on his face and questioned further, “Didn’t they cut ties with each other for more than twenty years ago? Why would they reunite once again out of the blue?”
“I’m not quite sure about it as well. It seems that Emily is here for official matters and they just coincidentally met with each other.”
“Are you implying that Callum is upset because of her? What a worthless piece of s*it! He still has not given up despite so many years having passed!” Fandrey then hung up the phone angrily.
Deborah came into the study room and asked, “I assumed that you have contacted Sammuel just now. What is with Callum being moody then?”
“It’s all because of that woman! Callum had meet with her just now!”
“How is that possible? I thought they had broken up and promise to remain as strangers forever!” Deborah replied with a surprised look on her face.
“Well, it looks like you have guessed it wrongly then. Didn’t you witness how he lives his life throughout these years?” Fandrey sat down gloomily and continued, “Since we are on this topic, she is the reason why we ended up like this! Emily was so ruthless and eventually made Veronica be infertile. Callum would have had several children with Veronica by now, don’t you think so?”
“You’re right, it’s all her fault! We would have many grandchildren if it weren’t for her. How could she not be ashamed to face Callum? Hmm, could Angel be her point of interest then? She may have met with our son because of Angel, right?”
Fandrey replied with an irritated look on his face, “How would I possibly know what is going on in her mind? Well, it’s always chaotic if that woman comes into the picture! We have to keep a closer look on Callum to avoid history from repeating itself.”
The following scene took place in New York, the United States. Veronica was facing the window with a mobile phone in her hand with a dignified look. “Brother, are you telling the truth? Did Callum really meet with Emily?”
“Of course! Emily was involved in a car accident and was being hospitalized. He then bought flowers to pay her a visit.”
“Damn it! Hasn’t she been laying low in Misurton throughout these years? Why would she go to B City all of a sudden? What on earth is she trying to do?” Veronica asked with a displeased look on her face.
“What else can she do apart from causing trouble? She might be intending to reunite with Angel.”
“Really?” Veronica questioned.
“As the saying goes, blood is thicker than water. She is the mother of Angel but has no idea that we have swapped her child with someone else’s. She must have thought of Angel as her daughter as she had assumed to give birth to her. How can she not be curious about Angel?”
“Damn it, she has been disrupting my peaceful life all this while! She must be dying to see Angel, right? Brother, I can’t bear it any much longer. You need to come up with a way in getting rid of her!” Veronica furiously replied.
“We need to plan things for the long run. I shall instruct someone to keep an eye on her. We will give her h*ll should she cause any trouble for us! Callum can then finally let go of her!”
