Raelyn headed out and sneakily inquired about the news of Valeria and imagined her to suffer from a serious injury. However, things went out of her expectation upon hearing from the medical personnel. Valeria’s feet were only slightly sprained which was not a life-threatening matter.
Raelyn returned to the ward in a sulky mood and said, “Valeria is such a lucky person! She is doing fine.”
Natasya was feeling disappointed upon hearing about it. Raelyn then asked, “Why is Angel so interested in Valeria’s updates?”
Natasya sneered and replied, “I guess William had excused himself from the Floyd family upon receiving news that Valeria has fallen down from the stairs. Angel chose to seek my assistance as she was unhappy about it.”
“Really? Okay then, this would be a piece of cake to deal with. Exaggerate things to Angel so that she would be extra pissed at Valeria!” Raelyn swiftly suggested.
“That’s what I had in mind too.” Natasya immediately sent a message to Angel, “I’ve asked around and Valeria is doing fine. Her leg is just slightly strained and doesn’t even need to be hospitalized. However, William was so worried about her and insisted on having her hospitalized.”
Angel snorted after reading Natasya’s text message as she had the same thought too. Valeria had used this as an excuse in demanding William to accompany her. However, Fandrey and Deborah were not convinced and even scolded Angel for trying to sow discord.
Angel needed to come up with a way to change Fandrey and Deborah’s minds. Natasya sent her another message when she was thinking hard about a plan.
“Miss Floyd, I received news from the medical personnel that your cousin is currently accompanying Valeria at her ward. I do think that Valeria must have pretended it seeing how William was so worried about her!”
“What are you trying to say?” Angel asked.
“Miss Floyd, think about it. Why would Valeria fall down at this moment when all of you arrived at B City? I don’t think this is a mere coincidence seeing how light her injury is. She just wants William to keep his distance from you and your family! She had deliberately called your cousin away to accompany her instead.”
“I agree as I do think so too! Valeria must be jealous of William spending time with us! I’ve told my grandparents about it but they did not take me seriously and even scolded me. I’m so pissed off right now!” Angel then told Natasya about everything that was on her mind.
“Valeria is undoubtedly a despicable, shameless, and cunning person! Miss Floyd, what is your next move?”
Angel replied in a furious tone, “I have yet to come up with anything. I need to expose her ulterior motives to convince my grandparents!”
“I have an idea. Care to hear me out?”
Angel struggled to come up with anything useful. She reverted back to Natasya immediately, “Alright then. What do you have in store for me?”
“Well, your grandparents are still not convinced that Valeria is not as innocent as she seems to be. I suggest you arrange a bodyguard to visit Valeria in the hospital. You will then have dirt on her and it would be much easier to change your grandparents’ opinion on her. What do you think?”
Angel’s eyes lit up and replied, “That’s a great idea! I shall follow your advice accordingly!”
Angel got up early the next morning. She then waited for Fandrey and Deborah to wake up from their sleep.
She immediately opened the door upon hearing a creaking sound that came from her grandparents’ room. She greeted respectfully, “Grandpa, good morning!”
“Good morning, Angel!” Fandrey nodded and looked like he had already forgotten about her impolite behavior yesterday. He smiled and asked, “Are you feeling hungry?”
“Not at all!” Angel grinned and questioned, “Has grandma woken up yet?”
“Yeap!”
“Alright! I shall head in to seek for grandma then!” Angel replied and went into the master bedroom. Deborah was wearing a coat upon seeing Angel coming into her room. She chuckled and asked, “Why are you up so early? Did you have trouble sleeping here when the bed is different from the one at home?”
“Of course not! Grandma, did William call you just now?”
“Yes, he said that he would come over to have breakfast with us later. What’s the matter?” Deborah asked.
“Nothing, I’m just asking. By the way, how is Valeria feeling?”
“I assume that she is alright. Deborah continued, “Otherwise, William wouldn’t have the time to enjoy breakfast with us.”
“Grandma, how about we arrange for someone to pay Valeria a visit at the hospital?”
Deborah paused for a moment and questioned, “Why are you so caring towards Valeria all of a sudden? I remember that you tried to badmouth her yesterday, right?”
“Well, every day is a new day. I have thought things through last night and realized that I was at fault. Valeria is nevertheless the wife of William and she is currently pregnant. Don’t you think that It’s rude for us to not show any kind gestures when she is injured? We shall arrange for a bodyguard to buy a bouquet of flowers upon visiting her. William would be relieved and grateful for our efforts. Grandma, what do you think?”
“That sounds good! I shall arrange for a bodyguard as our representative then,” Deborah nodded in agreement.
Valeria’s leg had completely recovered after spending a night in the hospital. She wanted to get discharged but William insisted that she undergoes a checkup to ensure that she was genuinely fine. Her request was being fulfilled as the doctor had permitted her to head back home.
The married couple was on their way back to the old estate. She suddenly pointed to her stomach and raised her voice, “Honey! Look!”
William glanced at her belly and was feeling confused. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
“No, not that! I felt something in my stomach just now and I think that it is a fetal movement!”
“Really? Let me check it out too!” William was pleasantly surprised and placed his hand on her belly. He waited for a long time but there was nothing at all.
“Honey, are you sure about it? Didn’t the doctor say that a fetal movement will only occur when you are twenty weeks pregnant? It’s only the sixteenth week for you.”
“Yes, I’m positive about it. Have you forgotten what the doctor said about an exception case during pregnancy? It is possible for me to experience a fetal movement even as early as the fourteenth week of pregnancy. I’m telling you the truth that it really happened just now! By the way, I have already felt my babies moving inside my belly last night. This was the good news that I ought to tell you about last night. However, I have totally forgotten about it since you did not reply to me yesterday.”
“Let me feel it once again!” William continued to lay his hand on Valeria’s stomach. However, there was still no fetal movement being felt by him.
Valeria anxiously said, “Hurry up and wiggle my little ones! Tell daddy that you are indeed moving or else he would think that mummy is lying to him.”
There was still nothing new and extraordinary. Valeria sighed and said, “It might be possible that they are afraid of you.”
“Why are you pointing fingers at me instead?” William asked and smiled helplessly.
“Anyway, I’m sure that it was a fetal movement just now!” Hayden came out from the entrance as soon as the car made a halt at the old estate. He asked, “Why are you guys back so early? I was just about to make my way to the hospital alongside the servant.”
“The doctor said that Valeria has recovered from her injury. We then came back as she did not want to stay any longer at the hospital,” William explained to Hayden.
“I see. Well then, do come on in and have breakfast together. Valeria, do have more to provide sufficient nutrients for my lovely grandchildren,” Hayden invited Valeria to enjoy her breakfast now.
However, William did not make his way to the dining area. He had instead instructed the servant, “Do keep an eye on Valeria. I have to run some errands later.”
“This b*at… Why can’t he only leave after having breakfast with us?” Hayden frowned.
“Dad, please excuse me as I have something to do right now.” William lowered his voice and continued, “I have promised grandpa and grandma to have breakfast with them. My schedule is packed to bring them around today. Valeria would definitely insist to tag along if she knows about it.”
Hayden immediately understood what he meant and replied in a deep voice, “Alright! Don’t worry about Valeria as I’ll take good care of her.”
