“It’s not a big deal anyway!” Valeria muttered but she did not dare to voice out her dissatisfaction. She walked towards William and sat down beside him. He handed her a glass of water and said, “You must be thirsty. Here, have some water.”
Valeria took the glass and chugged it down. She then leaned her head against William’s chest. He hugged her tightly while smiling at her and asked, “Are you feeling tired?”
“Not at all. I could have sung at least ten more songs if mom did not snatch away the microphone from me!” Valeria gestured and continued, “I used to sing with Abbie for hours.”
“Wow! I did not expect this at all! You must have the potential to become a singer,” William chuckled.
“My singing skill is not too bad right, right?”
“Yes, you sound good!”
Valeria was very interested to continue on this topic and said, “Honey, what do you think of me debuting as a singer? I shall sign under your company to provide me with the capital and make my very first appearance. What do you think of the idea of me being a spotlight in the entertainment industry?”
“What? You want to be a well-known singer?” William put on a pretentious smile. Valeria nodded and stared at him while waiting for his answer. His face suddenly turned stern and said, “Don’t even think about it! My wife, Wolf Group’s wife, making her debut in the entertainment industry? Don’t you think that it’s too naive as you would be judged by others?”
“Pfft! How petty of you!” Valeria was just joking around and was not expecting William to agree on her idea anyway. She decided to tease him further upon seeing his icy expression, “Honey, go ahead and sing a song. I would like our babies to remember your voice.”
“No, thank you. They would recognize my voice regardless of my singing as I have been talking to them every single night,” William refused.
“Do you not have a knack for singing? Are you chickening out?” Valeria provoked him.
William clearly knew what was going on in her mind. “Honey, don’t waste your effort. I am your husband and I know about your plans without thinking twice. I won’t be lured into your trap!”
“Pfft! You’re just finding an excuse for yourself as you indeed have no guts to sing a song for us!” Valeria rolled her eyes at him. William held her tightly with a smile and was about to talk back when his phone suddenly rang.
Deborah was feeling impatient and decided to call him first. William excused himself from Valeria upon seeing it, “Honey, I’ll head out for a while to answer the phone call.”
He made his way to the terrace and shut the door. He then answered Deborah’s call, “Grandma, how have you been?”
“Why would you ask me that when you are well aware that I am anxiously waiting for your call?”
“But, I was just about to call you.”
“Save your effort. You’re such a liar! You have never called me before.” Deborah was not convinced and decided to cut to the chase, “William, I would like to ask you about something. What is your relationship with Valeria?”
It must be Sammuel that has reported this matter to them. William decided to spill the beans and admitted, “Grandma, Valeria is my wife!”
“What? Weren’t you suffering from amnesia? How are you aware that she is indeed your wife?” Deborah questioned further.
“Well… Grandma, I was just going to tell you what I have been up to. I have regained my memory and I am still in the midst of a full recovery.”
William knew that his grandparents would be displeased if he were to hide his improvement from them.
“My wife deserves all the credit. She has been very loving and considerate towards me. I have started to vaguely remember the past after spending some time with her.”
“She is beautiful but I do not agree about her other positive qualities. How could such a lovely person make Natasya into a mess?” Deborah snorted coldly.
“Who told you that? Grandma, you should not be deceived by any inaccurate news that you have received,” William refused as he clearly knew that Natasya’s scandal was out and about. In contrast, Valeria’s news was uncensored and no one claimed that she was beaten by Natasya.
It was published that Natasya had shamelessly seduced a married man and William was not in the picture at all. Hence, this entire incident had nothing to do with Valeria.
Deborah felt displeased as she knew that William was standing firm to defend Valeria. “William, don’t you dare to deceive me. I am not stupid and would not be easily fooled by you.”
“Grandma, I’m telling you the truth. Valeria is a caring and gentle person. You would get to know her more when you meet her in the future!”
Deborah frowned and said, “William, just come clean to me. Have you really regained your memory? Is Valeria really your wife?”
“Yes, of course. How could it be false when we have a legal marriage certificate as husband and wife?”
“When did it happen? Why wasn’t there any wedding ceremony?” Deborah questioned further.
“It has been quite some time. Well, we are still in the midst of planning the wedding event.”
“Are you intending to hide these from me if it was not for my call today?” Deborah asked angrily.
William chuckled and said, “No, thats not possible. I was planning to tell you guys but it’s just that I do not know where to start.”
“Haha! Are you assuming that I have no idea about your plan to deceive us? William, was Valeria the one who persuaded you to lie to us?”
“Why would you drag my wife into the mud? She has always been grateful for you and grandpa to save my life. Why would she do that?”
Deborah was not convinced by him at all and said, “William, I’ve heard everything about Valeria. She is an arrogant, petty, and ill-mannered person. Why would you marry someone like her? It’s best if you distance yourself from her!”
“Grandma, you are joking around, right? Valeria is my wife and is currently pregnant. How is it possible for me to leave her alone?” William was feeling slightly annoyed.
“Are you insisting to be with her then?”
“Of course. Grandma, I would like to repeat that we are legally married to each other and she is currently pregnant. Our feelings are mutual and there is no reason for us to split ways. No one can come between us!”
William was very protective towards Valeria and no one could speak ill towards her including his grandmother. Deborah was pissed off upon hearing him taking Valeria’s side.
“Are you sure about that? Her mother is the mastermind behind the death of your mother!”
“Grandma, you must be messing with me, right? My mom has passed away due to excessive bleeding from dystocia. Why would my mother-in-law come into the picture?” William frowned as he knew that this matter would be deliberately burst open. Natalie would be wronged for the rest of her life should the death of his mother was not be justified.
“I knew it! Haha! Valeria is such a professional as she has made you so loyal to her. You even have the guts to say this without thinking twice!”
“Grandma, please stop it!”
“William, you shall cut ties with Valeria right now if you still deem me as your grandmother and the son of Tilda!”
William was very stern and stood on his ground, “Grandma, I can give way to everything else. However, it is impossible for me to fulfill this ridiculous request of yours!”
“Alright then! Fine!” Deborah raised her voice and hung up the phone.
