Natasya was feeling upset at Hardy but she had no evidence to prove her point. Besides, no one would believe her as she used to be enemies with him.
She was also aware that Talitha was deeply obsessed with him. Both sisters would go into a huge fight should Natasya have a few pieces of evidence to prove herself.
Natasya was feeling irritated and agitated as she could not share her feelings with anyone.
Talitha, who was sitting in the passenger seat, did not realize Hardy’s sneaky behavior. It was only when he opened the car door for Natasya that she got pissed off.
She was Hardy’s girlfriend and was currently pregnant. How could Hardy behave this way?
Why did he help to open the car door for Natasya instead of her?
Talitha opened the car door with an annoyed look on her face and said, “Alright, Hardy. We are heading back to our suite and you can go back now!”
Hardy nodded but stood still and watched both sisters enter the hotel.
He froze there while feeling a little lost and only hopped on the car when both sisters had eventually disappeared.
He did not leave immediately and decided to have a smoke instead. He lit up a cigarette from the box and took a few puffs of it.
He was aware of his feelings despite no one knowing about them. His heart did skip a beat for Natasya!
What was going on with him?
Why would he catch such a bizarre feeling towards Natasya?
Raelyn heaved a sigh of relief upon seeing Natasya and Talitha coming back home together. She hugged Natasya and asked, “Why don’t you answer my calls? Are you planning to make me absolutely worried?”
“My phone had run out of battery.” Natasya tried her best to squeeze a smile and continued, “Mummy, don’t worry about me. I won’t take my own life away as I am not someone who gives up easily!”
“What on earth has happened? Why isn’t William under your control? What has gone wrong?” Raelyn asked a series of questions.
“Wait, let me have a seat first. I would like to have something as I’m starving.”
Raelyn immediately brought over some pastries for her. Natasya was indeed a persevering person as she even had the appetite to fill her stomach despite having gone through such humiliation just now.
Raelyn was relieved as having a strong character would go a long way in life. She took a seat and watched Natasya inhaling her food and asked once again, “What has actually happened?”
“I failed miserably! William does not have amnesia and he remembers Valeria. He knew our plan all along and plotted against me.”
Raelyn had a worried expression on her face and asked, “What? Are you sure?”
“Yes, of course. Valeria had personally told me that William didn’t lose his memory at all. He knew about the vermin and we had failed to lure him into our trap. That is why I am unable to win him over.”
“How did William know about it? I am confident that we planned things meticulously.” Raelyn was not convinced and asked further, “Natasya, weren’t you there when he consumed the blood vermin? I doubt that he has nowhere to hide at that time, right?”
“You’re right as I could not wrap my head around it too. However, I suddenly recalled that someone knocked me over when I entered the cafe. I was feeling dizzy for a few minutes and it must be during that time William had swapped the vermin away.”
Raelyn was upset and intimidated at the same time, “This is too terrifying! William is indeed one of a kind! What should we do now?”
It was impossible to turn things around as William was aware of the things that were going through in their mind.
Raelyn was feeling extremely terrified upon hearing about it. She used to be confident as she assumed that Natasya would be able to win him over. What more could they do when their plan had failed miserably?
“I have to tell your dad about this right now!” Raelyn swiftly called Devon and told him everything that Natasya had previously told her.
Devon was taken aback and raised his voice, “Oh shit! It’s game over for us!”
He shared the same thought with Raelyn and was well aware that it was not possible to seek revenge against William. Devon’s ambition and restoration of his work position had all gone down the drain.
“Honey, what should we do now? William will never let us off the hook as dealing with Natasya is just the beginning of his game. His next move would be seeking his revenge on both of us. You’re already on suspension and we do not stand any chance against him. Wouldn’t that mean he would eventually have his way? He would not get rid of you just like how he threw your brother under the bus, right?”
“That it is relatively possible! I can’t just sit back and do nothing! I won’t give up that easily!” Devon murmured and said, “Raelyn, call your father immediately to seek any chance of turning things around.”
“My dad has already been ignoring my calls!”
“You have to find a way even if you have to beg him on your knees! You are his only daughter and he has a soft heart despite his seemingly cold behavior. He can’t bear to watch us being dragged into the mud. William is his grandson-in-law and all your father wants is a peaceful atmosphere. You shall beg for mercy and make him take pity on you. You can then proceed to settle things with your brother after that.”
Raelyn knew that Devon had a solid point as Gavin was their last glimmer of hope. She agreed and said, “Alright, I’ll give it a try!”
Natasya’s incident did not have a huge impact on William’s birthday party. The celebration was still very merry in the Howard Family’s estate.
Marcus went to find William and Valeria after receiving a call. “Mr. Howard, I have received news that Hardy had met with Natasya just now.”
“Really? How was it?” William became interested upon hearing about it.
“Our men who followed them had reported that Hardy took the initiative and passed a bottle of water to her. He also helped to open the car door for her. Hardy did not leave immediately when both sisters entered the hotel. He sat in the car for a long time and was not being himself.”
“Are you saying that it is working?” Valeria interrupted.
“I guess so?” Marcus was not sure as his men were too far away to get ahold of what exactly had happened.
“Let’s wait and see then! Hardy would feel different towards Natasya based on his sudden change of behavior towards Talitha.” William sneered and continued, “This is just the start as my exact purpose is to enjoy the juicy drama between Hardy and the Anderson sisters!”
Hardy had schemed and almost killed him last time. William was not foolish enough to let him off the hook. Getting rid of the Anderson family was just a bonus as William’s ultimate goal was to get rid of Hardy once and for all.
Richard and Michael headed towards them and asked, “What secret are you guys talking about?”
“It’s something delightful! But I’m not intending to tell you guys about it for now!” William refused to spill the beans.
“Come on, just tell us right now. Isn’t it uneasy to hide things from us?” Richard asked as he was feeling curious about it.
“I promise to tell you guys about it when things have been confirmed.”
Richard and Michael immediately took a seat and refused to leave them alone. They continued to stare at William in hopes that he would eventually tell them about the secret.
