“The driver?” Fandrey’s reminder had made Sammuel stunned for a moment. He recalled the situation from that night in his mind, unfortunately, no bells were rung.
“Mr. Floyd, I can’t recall anything about the driver. I only remember that the car drove away as soon as the president of Wolf Group got on the car. I didn’t see the driver clearly at all.”
“I’ve noticed him as I was behind the president at that time. My first sight was on the driver and he looked almost the same as this man.”
“Can it be that you might have mistaken him? If he really is the president’s chauffeur, why will he be the Howards’ bodyguard? The president definitely has a much bigger influence than the Howards, right?”
Sammuel’s words made Fandrey laugh, “Just forget about it. I’ll give you a new task instead. From now on, you and your men shall spare no efforts to keep an eye on William. I want to know all about his precise whereabouts.”
After hanging up the phone with Sammuel, Fandrey stood up from the study table with a smile on his face and thought to himself, “The president of Wolf Group!”
It would be incredible if his guess was true after all!
It was going to be really amazing!
If William was the president of Wolf Group, that would explain why he was always being targeted all the time.
Was this fella really hiding his claws? Fandrey hoped that he was right about the mysterious president of Wolf Group!
Not only would he be overjoyed, but his woman would also be on top of the world!
William and Bobby returned to the hospital and brought back supper for Valeria as promised. However, she was not hungry at all and was only concerned about the outcome of William’s meeting with Gonzalec.
“Honey, have you got things settled?”
“Of course, I have ordered Silas to take him to the airport and head straight to Kenoland,” William took out the seafood porridge that he had brought back and said, “Enjoy it while it’s still fresh and hot.”
“I’m not hungry yet,” Valeria replied as she shook her head.
“Let me feed you!” William picked up the spoon to feed Valeria without giving her the chance to reject. She had no choice but to accept the supper as she was being served by a handsome man.
She asked as she devoured the delicious seafood porridge, “Honey, is Gonzalec trustworthy?”
“Nope,” William replied.
“Then why did you tell me that everything is settled? What if he changes his mind or tries to pull some tricks?” Valeria was extremely worried.
“He won’t have the chance to do so,” William smiled and fed Valeria a spoonful of porridge as he continued, “Silas will be keeping a close eye on him. If he dares to do anything fishy, I’ll test out the antidote on him first before deciding whether to use it or not.”
Valeria felt relieved after hearing William’s words, “My husband is so smart! He knows how to deal with things accordingly.”
“Of course! I’ve always been intelligent throughout my life. There won’t be any genius in this world if I’m not one,” William was not humble at all.
Valeria looked at him and said, “Honey, I know you’re smart, but how can you be so full of yourself? Can’t you be a bit humble?”
“Why do I have to be when it’s the truth?” William laughed.
Valeria looked at him speechlessly and William then winked at her, “You need to reward me for being an intelligent man. How about a kiss?”
“Hmph! I’ll reward you by having you finish this portion of seafood porridge. You can’t go to bed if you don’t eat! And you’ll have to spend the night standing outside the room!”
“Wow, you’re that cold-hearted?” William raised his eyebrows.
“That’s right! I’m teaching you a lesson to show the mighty power of your wife!” Valeria looked at him provocatively.
“I’d better go out then,” William stood up and walked out. Valeria followed him and hugged his waist and said, “William, are you really going to do so?”
“Of course not! I’m not stupid,” William grabbed Valeria’s hand with a smile and continued, “I know you can’t bear to see me leave! Who’s going to carry you to bed if I’m out guarding the door?”
“William! You’re so cunning!” Valeria punched his body lightly a few times. William then hugged her and smiled lovingly, “Nice guys finish last. How can you fall in love with me if I don’t have some tricks under my sleeves?”
“You’re being witty and cheeky! You deserve to be punished!”
“What? You’re not joking? Are you really going to do it?”
“Yes!” Valeria put her arms around his neck and continued, “You shall sing a song for our babies! Come on!”
William held Valeria and said with a gentle smile, “Okay, I’ll sing a lullaby to put the three of you to sleep.”
In the house of the Anthony family, Hardy was pacing back and forth in the study room while Bevan stood beside the study table and glanced at him. Bevan was dizzy as Hardy had been pacing non-stop and had no intention of taking a break. He couldn’t help but shout, “Mr. Anthony!”
Hardy paused and said, “I will not let William off the hook for setting me up like this. I will make his life hellish!”
“Mr. Anthony, what are you going to do?” Bevan asked.
“Isn’t he currently in the hospital? He’s been drugged by Natasya and will have a severe headache when he hears Valeria’s name. Get someone to hang around the hospital, Wolf Group, and Howard family’s old mansion tomorrow. Use a loudspeaker to call Valeria’s name when you spot William. I’m going to torture him to death!”
Bevan was doubtful and asked, “Mr. Anthony, are you sure? It sounds relatively ridiculous.”
“It’s true, Talitha has told me about it. Get your men to deal with it and we’ll know for sure.”
Lucian had lost her right-hand man when Gonzalec was arrested. She was faced with trouble as there was no way to rescue him. Her last thread of hope was Devon.
Lucian decided to call Devon for help. He then picked up the call with an impatient tone, “Why are you calling me at this hour? Are you trying to create chaos? What if she finds out?”
“I wouldn’t have called you if it wasn’t for an urgent matter. Gonzalec was arrested and he’s been sentenced to jail time. Please get him out for me,” Lucian was enraged when she knew that Devon was irritated. However, there was nothing that she could do.
Devon was annoyed by the favor and said, “Your cousin is really a piece of trash. He’s a troublemaker and doesn’t take anything seriously. Let him rot in prison to learn his lesson.”
“How can you say such a thing? Gonzalec has dirt on me. What if he turns his back against me if I don’t get him out from jail?”
Lucian was irritated as she continued, “I shall remind you that we are still on the same team. Do take me seriously even though I’m in bad shape now. Things will turn ugly for the both of us if decide to piss me off.”
Devon was feeling threatened as he improved his tone, “I didn’t say that I won’t help you but this is not a simple task. I’m currently in a deep mess because of Talitha’s scandal, as well as Natasya who is in hospital now. Besides, Juxemburg is not my home ground, hence I may not be able to settle things accordingly.”
“Hehe, haven’t you always thought highly of yourself? Why are you out of ideas this time? You just have to get rid of William. You do know that Gonzalec makes a good offer and his grandfather is no ordinary person. Get Gonzalec out and I’ll persuade him to get his grandfather’s assistance to keep William under control.”
Devon thought about it and finally agreed, “Okay, I’ll try my best to get him out of jail!”
