William narrowed his eyes, “I want the antidote for the medicine that you sold to Declan. Can you get it for me?”
“But… that medicine is my grandfather’s. I’m not sure…”
“Are you saying that you refuse to do it?” William asked coldly.
“Wait, I’ll try! I’ll try my best!” Gonzalec wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.
“No, you must get it done! Do you understand?” William laughed coldly and continued, “If you can’t do it, I’ll then hand your family over to your archenemy. I’m sure he will be pleased to seek his revenge like how you did to his family back then.”
“I’ll do it! William, you have my word!” Cold sweat emerged from Gonzalec’s forehead. William was indeed a silent killer.
“We shall wait for your good news then!” William stood up and walked out as the guard came in to unlock the handcuffs on Gonzalec. His body was soaking wet and he continued to sit on the chair without making a move. Bobby, who was following William, turned around and stared at Gonzalec, “What are you waiting for? Do you actually plan to stay here?”
“No, I’m leaving now!” Gonzalec hurriedly stood up and walked out. He then tripped over the chair and fell heavily to the ground. However, he immediately got back to his feet and walked out while limping, as if ignoring the pain on his body.
There were two cars parked outside. William and Bobby got in the car together, while Gonzalec was assigned to another car by Silas.
Gonzalec let out a sigh of relief when William was out of his sight. He then looked at Silas and asked, “You? So you’re one of William’s men as well? Was it you who deliberately schemed against me last night?”
Silas ignored Gonzalec and ordered the driver, “Let’s go!”
“Who are you? I haven’t seen you before,” Gonzalec asked again.
Silas still chose to ignore him, and Gonzalec felt that he was not being taken seriously. “What’s up with your attitude? I’m now working with William, hence you’d better treat me with respect!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Silas turned to hold Gonzalec by his chin, and gave him a clean snap.
Gonzalec was deeply in pain. Silas did not glance at him, but instead ordered the driver, “Let’s head to the airport. Be quick!”
The car jolted to the airport at the speed of lightning. They went straight to the VIP pathway when they arrived at the airport. Upon entering the VIP waiting room, Silas only then fixed Gonzalec’s chin back in place.
He sat cross-legged on the seat and glanced at Gonzalec, “I will be accompanying you back this time to find the things that sir has asked for. In order to prevent things from turning sour, I have a few points to make clear to you. Firstly, I don’t like to talk nonsense and I prefer to communicate in a straightforward manner. Follow what I say and you’ll have a piece of mind. However, if you happen to be rebellious, I will break your limbs and make you crawl back. Do you understand?”
He spoke in a normal pitch and his expression was not serious at all. However, Gonzalec knew that he was not joking around and he was informing him about important matters after he had made up his mind.
Gonzalec had no choice but to agree due to his current circumstances, “I got it!”
In New York, Fandrey had completed his morning run upon waking up from bed. His assistant from the company then sent him a document.
Fandrey took the document and went to the study room. He then opened the folder and took out the document as he closed the door.
Bobby’s picture was on the first page of an investigation document. Fandrey became more surprised as he read the document thoroughly.
He then sat down on a chair and lit up a cigarette after reading it. Just as he took a puff, Sammuel’s call came through. Fandrey then answered the call in a hoarse voice, “Hello?”
“Mr. Floyd, Silas was not with us ever since he returned from abroad and I have no idea about his whereabouts. I think that he is not an ordinary man, and unfortunately, we can’t do much as this is out of our territory. We have no connections here to investigate further.”
“Leave Silas alone for now. I have something to tell you,” Fandrey sighed and continued, “I’ve just received the info about the person that you told me about.”
“That’s quick. What’s his background then?” Sammuel asked.
“He’s a retired veteran from the special forces. He then served as an instructor in the most capable military for eight years in a foreign country. After that, he disappeared into thin air.”
Sammuel didn’t dare to believe it and asked, “Are you sure? He came from such a powerful background!”
“That’s right, his past is truly astonishing! How can someone like him be assigned to be a bodyguard serving under Howard?” Fandrey asked back.
“Is it for money?” Sammuel guessed.
“What? He has always been paid handsomely for his service, and the money can support him throughout his lifetime! People like him will never work for money,” Fandrey caught a breather.
“I don’t believe that Howard has the ability to keep him under control. Besides, he has been living abroad for a long time, and Howard was still a professor during the past few years when he was out of the country. They had no chance to contact each other, hence he is not one of Howard’s men.”
“If he doesn’t work for Howard, who does he work for then?” Sammuel asked.
“I don’t know. Didn’t you say that he followed William everywhere? How is William’s attitude towards him?”
“He has always followed William with his head down and a hat while being quiet. If he had not defeated me, I would not have noticed him as he seemed ordinary.”
“He has a very good camouflage skill indeed. Luckily, you managed to get a photo of him, otherwise, we wouldn’t have found out about his identity.”
Fandrey then picked up the pictures of Bobby who was dressed differently and looked at them closely. Seeing a photo of Bobby in a suit and tie, he suddenly said, “Hmm, I find this photo a little familiar. I seem to have seen it somewhere before.”
“What photo?” Sammuel had no idea about Fandrey’s finding.
“Holy shit!” Fandrey murmured and continued, “No way! Am I seeing things?”
“What is it?” Sammuel was very curious when he heard Fandrey talking to himself.
“Do you still remember the auction held two years ago?” Fandrey asked.
“Yes, I remember.”
“Then you must remember the president from Wolf Group who showed up that night, right?”
“I remember that he wore a silver mask at that time, hence I couldn’t see his face clearly. However, he had a charismatic aura.”
“Do you remember every single one of the president’s bodyguards at that night?” Fandrey asked again.
“Yes, but I didn’t see them after the event. I’ve always wondered why they disappeared into thin air. Is he one of the Wolf Group’s president’s bodyguards that night? That’s impossible! I remember distinctively that he wasn’t there!” Sammuel answered with certainty.
“He wasn’t the bodyguard protecting the president,” Fandrey paused for a moment before continuing, “After seeing his photos, I think that it’s similar to the driver who drove the president around that night.”
