Chapter 602 Unbearable Pain

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

Natasya’s heart skipped a beat when she saw Valeria’s photo. Sure enough, Angel had known that William’s illness was due to Valeria’s existence. However, she pretended to be innocent, “She’s my cousin. What’s wrong with it?”
“Your cousin, huh? I heard that she’s William’s girlfriend and not you. Can you explain?” Angel asked aggressively.
“There’s nothing to explain. This is between William and me. It has nothing to do with you, does it?”
“You’re wrong! He is my only cousin and the woman he marries must be approved by our family. How could you take away your own cousin’s partner? How could I let such a shameless b*tch like you marry my cousin? I must tell grandpa and grandma what you’ve done.”
Natasya was trembling with anger at Angel’s words. “Are you out of your mind?”
“You’re the one who’s out of your mind! You b*tch, I’ll expose you to everyone!”
As Angel was cursing, Deborah pushed the door and came in. She asked, “What’s going on here?”
“Grandma, listen to me, this shameless woman is not William’s girlfriend! She’s a fake!” Angel exposed Natasya’s identity immediately.
“I’m not! She’s spitting nonsense!” Natasya turned pale and denied quickly when she saw Deborah.
“Grandma, I’m not making this up. I have evidence here. My friend told me that William was in a relationship with her cousin Valeria before. Valeria’s beautiful and much better than her. William is not stupid, so how could he fall in love with someone like her?”
“Enough!” Deborah frowned. She came here to fool Natasya under Fandrey’s instruction, but Angel had messed up the whole thing.
Angel had thought that Deborah didn’t believe her, so she took out her phone. “It’s true! Grandma, I have evidence. Look, this is Valeria. She’s so beautiful and looks great with William!”
Natasya was flustered when Angel brought up Valeria. She drained her brain to figure out a way that could explain herself and slander Valeria. Suddenly, she thought of Mason. “My cousin has a boyfriend named Mason Eich! She’s not in a relationship with William. You must have mistaken!”
“Valeria will tell us the truth!” Angel insisted. “I’ve gotten her number from my friend. Let’s call her now!”
Natasya was anxious to think up ways to stop her as Angel was about to dial the number.
However, she had just recovered from a fever and was still feeling dizzy. Suddenly, pain jolted through her entire body.
The pain was so unbearable that Natasya screamed and rolled on the bed.
When she saw this, Angel sneered, “Grandma, don’t be fooled, she’s putting on an act! She’s just afraid that Valeria will expose her!”
Natasya was in so much pain that large beads of sweat dripped from her forehead and her expression was twisted and scary.
Deborah was not a pushover and could tell that Natasya was really in pain, so she immediately got the maid to call for the doctor.
Not long after, the doctor came and examined Natasya’s body. He could not tell what caused the pain exactly but he assumed that it might be a muscle ache that was caused by the fever.
After that, Natasya took some painkillers but didn’t feel any better. She was still whining and rolling on the bed, and the pain lasted for half an hour before it subdued.
She lay still on the bed as if she had died with her hair soaked with sweat.
Looking at her painful expression, Deborah thought to herself, “What’s wrong with her again?”
That was scary! It was horrible to see Natasya’s suffering look, and Deborah couldn’t help but relate it to when William was ill.
“How are you feeling?” Deborah comforted Natasya gently.
“I’m much better now!” Natasya replied weakly.
“Rest, then!” Deborah said kindly. “Don’t take Angel’s words to heart. She’s been spoiled since she’s young and doesn’t think twice before she speaks. Don’t mind her.”
“I understand, she’s been fooled. When she learns the truth, she will understand.” Natasya continued to act weak and innocent as Mrs. Floyd wasn’t treating her indifferently.
However, on the other hand, Deborah suppressed the disgust in her heart. “Stay here and get well soon as you’re still too weak. By the way, William is going back the day after tomorrow.”
Natasya was stunned upon hearing Deborah’s words as she had been lying to William for such a long time, so how could she let him go back now? She disagreed quickly, “We can’t let him go alone. He just lost his memory. It’s too dangerous.”
“Don’t worry, he’s not going back on his own. He’s still the son of the Howard family, so he must have a share of the family’s property! Although we don’t lack money, we can’t bear such grievances. He’s going back to take what’s his. We’re not only escorting him back, but we want to make sure he gets his share.”
The sudden news made Natasya forget about her act. “If… If something bad happens to him again…”
Natasya was interrupted by Deborah before she finished her words. “We won’t let that happen! You are in poor health and you can’t worry too much. Just take care of yourself! I’ll be going back to arrange things for William.”
After that, Deborah left the ward, leaving Natasya anxious.
Natasya could never let William go back on his own since he still recognizes the others. Now that he treated her indifferently, something would definitely happen if she were to let him go back alone.
She must go back with William!
Despite her condition, Natasya immediately sent a message to Devon. “Dad, the Floyd family is going to escort William back. Deborah said he’s leaving tomorrow. What should we do now?”
“So soon? Are they suspecting you?”
“Probably. Deborah treats me alright, but Angel is different. That b*tch! She exposed that I’m not William’s girlfriend by mentioning Valeria. Although Deborah didn’t say anything, she must be suspicious of me right now. I’m a little worried.”
“Well, when she mentions Valeria again, you can talk about Matilda’s death. Tell them Matilda was killed by Natalie, and that William and Valeria had been in a relationship before. But after William found out that Natalie murdered his mother, he broke up with Valeria.” Devon suggested.
“Okay, I’ll tell Deborah that. Remember not to let your guard down. You have to arrange everything before we go back.”
“Don’t worry. Leave it all to me.”
