In the hospital, Natasya’s face was still red from the fever although she had had an IV drip. William went to the hospital to visit her under the escort of the driver and the bodyguards.
William couldn’t help but smile coldly when he saw Natasya, but still pretended to ask the doctor worriedly, “Why is she still sick?”
“It takes some time for her to recover from the high fever,” The doctor replied.
“Can you do a check-up on her again, or increase the medicine’s dosage? Her brain will be damaged if she keeps burning up!”
After that, the doctor examined Natasya once more and said that he would come back again in the afternoon. After a few minutes, a woman in a nurse uniform and with a mask came into the ward and injected some medicine into Natasya’s drip.
William, who was watching everything by Natasya’s bed with his arms crossed, had a mocking and cold smile. Natasya Anderson, the show was about to begin!
Soon, William left the hospital after making sure that Natasya had fallen into his trap. After ordering the servants to take care of her, he was driven back to the Floyd family’s manor with his bodyguards.
Now, Natasya would be suffering in pain every day after she had recovered from her fever. He was really looking forward to seeing her in agony!
Meanwhile, in Juxemburg, Archer and Natalie went to the hospital to visit Valeria with her favorite fruits and desserts in the evening. They also came to ask Valeria’s opinion about changing her name and family name.
As expected, Valeria had no objection to changing her family name to Saunders. Then, Archer and Natalie asked her whether she had any ideas for her new name. At this, Valeria thought for a moment and said, “I’ve decided on Valentina!”
“Valentina Saunders? Are you sure you about this name?” Natalie asked.
“Yes!” Valeria nodded. “That day, I told William my name was Val. So, I’ve decided on Valentina Saunders.”
Archer nodded and said, “In order not to arouse any suspicions that we had already found the reason behind William’s illness, I will announce to the public that you’re changing your name because you’re returning to the Saunders family.”
“Alright! I’m fine with that.” Valeria agreed.
“Last night, William heard your name and had an unbearable headache again. From now on, everyone has to call you Valentina so that he won’t be suffering when he’s back. Remember to tell your father-in-law about our decision.”
“Okay.” Valeria answered. “Is there any news about Lucian?”
“No, she’s rather low-key these days. She came to see your mom several times, but was stopped by the bodyguards. She has no way to see your mom except through Braelynn. But Braelynn can’t visit you anymore that you’re in the hospital, so basically she has no way to get in touch with your mom right now.”
As she heard this, Valeria frowned. “She’s not someone who admits defeat easily, so she’ll think of a way sooner or later. I doubt that she’s on her own. There must be someone behind her, so you’d better arrange someone to spy on her. I’m worried that she and the person behind her will try to mess things up when William is not around.”
“Don’t worry, we know what to do. Tell your father-in-law as soon as possible. Everything has to be well arranged before William comes back.”
Valeria nodded and called Hayden immediately. “Dad, when are you free? I have something to tell you.”
“I’m free now. I’m on my way to you.” Hayden said in a kind and loving voice.
Upon hearing that Hayden was about to arrive, Archer and Natalie took their leave. Not long after they left, Hayden came along with Lucas and his bodyguards.
Lucas and the bodyguards were carrying handfuls of food, fruits, and a bouquet of flowers.
When Hayden saw that there was food in the ward, he frowned slightly. “Was someone here before me?”
“My parents were here.” Valeria stood up to pour a glass of water for Hayden but was immediately stopped by him. “There’s no need for you to do that. The caretaker can do it.”
Knowing that Hayden was worried about the baby in her stomach, Valeria didn’t insist further either. She sat down obediently, “Dad, my parents told me news about William.”
“What did they say?”
“William has lost his memories from the past year. Natasya, Devon and Raelyn’s eldest daughter, is with him now and is lying to him that she’s his girlfriend.”
“This is absurd!” Hayden frowned. “Does that mean that Richard and the others have already known about this? Why didn’t they tell me, then?”
“It’s because of me. They think that you accepted me only because my husband was dead and that I’m pregnant. They’re worried that you would go against your word if you found out that William was still alive.” Valeria didn’t hide anything and spoke frankly about their concerns.
Hayden snorted. “That’s ridiculous! Is that what they think of me? A person that will go against their word easily?”
“I’m sorry, dad! We shouldn’t have kept it from you.” Valeria apologized.
“Alright, you don’t have to apologize. Let’s talk about William. What exactly did Natasya do to him?”
“Natasya gave him some kind of drug, which damaged his memory. She must want to control William, so that he will listen to her and marry her. By then, she’ll be able to get her hands on the Wolf Group.”
“How shameless and despicable she is!” Hayden was furious when he heard this.
“Yes, I hadn’t expected Natasya to be this shameless too.” Valeria was enraged at her actions too. “Dad, William is in a dilemma now. He hadn’t lost all of his memories, but had only lost the ones that were about me. God knows what Natasya has done to him. He remembers all the people he met a year ago, but he would have a headache whenever he hears my name.”
“What? Is there such a drug that could do that?”
“My father suspects that it might be a curse from the Anderson family. Marcus has already sent someone to investigate it. I believe they will find something soon.”
“Does William know about your existence?” Hayden asked again.
“Yes, he knows, and he accepts me as his wife. But he can’t hear my name, Valeria Brown, at all, so my parents just came to me and suggested I change my name.”
“You’re right, changing your name is a good idea.” Hayden agreed.
“My parents just discussed it with me. I will change my name to Valentina Saunders. Please tell the others to address me as Valentina from now on, and not to mention my name Valeria in front of him. Dad, please call me Valentina.”
“Alright, I’ll go back and make some arrangements. In the future, no one will be allowed to mention Valeria Brown in front of William.” Hayden changed the subject and asked Valeria, “Have you told him that you’re pregnant?”
“No, I plan to tell him when he comes back. It will be his birthday in a few days. Dad, I’m planning to hold a grand birthday party for him.”
Hayden was very satisfied that Valeria was still thinking about William. “I’m glad that you want to hold a party for him. But you’re pregnant now and shouldn’t worry yourself with matters like this. I’ll arrange for someone to do it.”
“I want to help…”
“No way!” Hayden shook his head. “What you need to do now is to take good care of yourself and your baby. You seem to have lost weight again. “I promise I’ll eat more!” Valeria nodded. “Dad, don’t be too worried. He is coming back soon. Everything will be all right with him around!”
Hayden nodded. “I’m fine. Take care of yourself and don’t worry too much. As long as I’m here, I’ll stop Natasya from causing any trouble!”
