William took out his phone and saw a message from Silas. “William, how are you feeling?”
It was obvious that Silas was very worried about him as the message was sent at three o’clock in the morning. William replied, “I’m much better now!”
Then, Silas replied within seconds, “That’s good to hear. I’m really worried about you, but I didn’t want to disturb you.”
“Take some rest. Don’t worry about me. I have something for you to do later.”
“I don’t need to rest. I can do it now, sir.”
“There’s no need to hurry, take some rest first. I want to teach Natasya a lesson! But, I don’t have a plan yet. I’ll think of something while you rest.”
After that, William put down his phone. He opened the door and went downstairs. As it was still early, the members of the Floyd family were still sleeping, and only the servants were preparing breakfast in the kitchen. When they saw William coming down the stairs, one of them went to greet him, “William, would you like to eat something?”
“No, I’m going out for a walk!”
Then, William went out to the garden for a stroll. The Floyd family’s manor was large and fancy, and William enjoyed walking along with the paving stones in the garden.
The air was fresh and clean during the early hours. While looking up at the sky, he took a few deep breaths and felt more at ease. As he was strolling, William thought about how he should deal with Natasya.
After a while, he heard someone not far behind him. He turned and found that it was Fandrey, who was dressed in jogging attire and was slowly approaching William. Fandrey was surprised when he saw William and stopped running. “Are you alright now?”
“I’m fine!” William nodded.
Fandrey examined William closely before finally saying, “Jog with me, then!”
“Okay!” As he said this, William started to jog along with the garden with Fandrey. Fandrey was in good health despite his age, and he didn’t even pant after two hours of jogging.
Seeing that William did not show any signs of exhaustion too, a hint of satisfaction flashed across Fandrey’s eyes. “Not bad. You’re much better than your uncle.”
“Uncle is older and works harder than me. Of course I’m better than him.” William answered with a smile.
“I don’t work less than him. He’s just lazy and uses work as an excuse.” Fandrey stretched his body and looked at William. “I heard from your grandmother that you’re planning to go back?”
“Yes!”
“What do you plan to do when you go back? Now that you’ve lost your memory, aren’t you afraid that you’ll be attacked again?” Fandrey looked at him with a scrutinizing gaze.
To this, William replied calmly, “Life and death are determined by fate! If I’m destined to die young, hiding here won’t change anything. It’s better to go back and find out about the truth.”
“Nonsense!” Fandrey said sternly. “The thing that I hate to hear most at this age is fate. You don’t even cherish your own life, and you’re hoping that God would decide for you? If you really want to find out about the truth, just remember one thing, your fate is in your own hands!”
William was not upset at all after hearing Fandrey’s stern words. “You’re right, grandpa! I decide my own fate! I’ll cherish every opportunity!”
“That’s right! I won’t stop you from going back, since you are already old enough to do things independently. Life is short, William. I don’t expect you to be someone really successful, but at least, you must be able to protect yourself! This time, take it as a training. I will arrange some people to go back with you. They are all experienced, so you can rely on them whenever you have a problem.”
“Okay!” William did not refuse.
Fandrey was very satisfied with William’s obedience. As they were covered in sweat, both of them did some more stretches in the garden before going back to take a bath and have breakfast.
Seeing William and Fandrey soaked in sweat when they came back, Mrs. Floyd was very surprised. “You went to jog with your grandpa? I thought you’re still sleeping and was going to see you. Do you still have a headache?”
“Grandma, I feel much better!”
“Go take a bath, then! We’ll have breakfast after you’re done!” Then, Mrs. Floyd instructed the maid. “Tell Miss Anderson that we’re about to have breakfast!”
After that, the servant and William went upstairs together. When they reached Natasya’s room, the servant knocked on the door a few times. “Miss Anderson! Miss Anderson!”
However, Natasya didn’t respond, which worried the servant. She looked at William and asked, “William, is Miss Anderson alright?”
“Open the door!” William ordered as the servant pushed the door open and turned on the light. Inside, Natasya was lying unmoving on the bed and her face was flushed red. The servant stepped forward quickly and touched Natasya’s forehead. “Ah, Miss Anderson has a fever!”
A hint of mockery flashed across William’s eyes as it was obvious that Natasya had done this to herself purposely.
What on earth did she want to cover up? William thought sarcastically, but his voice was full of concern. “Send her to the hospital right away! Hurry!”
Last night, Natasya had soaked herself in cold water for the whole night and had begun to have a high fever not long after. The Floyd family immediately sent her to the hospital as they heard William’s worried cries.
At the hospital, the doctor measured her temperature, which was a shocking 39. 7 degrees. Soon, Natasya was given an IV drip immediately to reduce the fever.
However, William did not follow her to the hospital. He went back to his room and took a shower before checking his phone to see that there was a message from Marcus.
The message read, “Mr. Howard, we suspect that Natasya has given you some kind of drug. Michael doubts that Abbie’s amnesia back then had something to do with her too. President Saunders thinks that it might be a curse that was passed down from the Anderson family. We’ve already sent someone to investigate Devon’s hometown. I will update you if we find anything.”
Looking Marcus’ message, William thought back to the symptoms Abbie had experienced when she had lost her memory back then. It was similar to what he was experiencing right now!
Abbie had forgotten all about Michael and couldn’t bear to hear his name at all. As for William, he was afraid to hear a particular name too.
Natasya was such a vicious woman. How dare she drug him!
William squinted and sneered. “To be prudent, you’d better investigate it first. We can give her a taste of her own medicine if such a thing does exist.”
“Okay, I’ll arrange someone to find out more about it.”
“Not only that, because of her, I have to suffer from a headache. So, I have to do something in return. I’m going to teach her a lesson today. She must suffer as much as I did!”
“What are you going to do?” Marcus knew that William would never be soft-hearted with his enemies. Natasya was going to have a hard time…
William narrowed his eyes and smiled coldly. He was thinking about how to deal with Natasya, and she had taken the initiative to come to him first. “An eye for an eye, of course. Get the company to arrange for her to be injected with something that would make her suffer from pain for months, and make sure that it’s something unidentifiable and incurable.”
Since Natasya was hospitalized with a fever, wasn’t it the perfect time to make her pay?
