Chapter 540 Elizabeth Was Finally Awake

Savannah was brought to Charles’ villa, where she took a shower and got changed, but she couldn’t stop sneezing.
She had wanted to pretend to be ill, but her wishes had unexpectedly come true. Now, Savannah had caught a cold as Ronald had thrown her into a tub of ice-cold water.
Seeing her like this, Charles called a doctor to check on Savannah. The doctor said that she caught the flu after being exposed to a low temperature for a long period of time and prescribed some medication for her, which seemed to be ineffective.
Savannah continued to sneeze while cursing William and Ronald at the same time.
“That ruthless William! And Ronald, that b*stard, how dare he join forces with Willian to plot against me! I’ll have a piece of him when I get better!”
Meanwhile, Charles sat beside her silently with a blank face. He only started talking when Savannah was out of breath and stopped cursing, “What actually happened back there? Why did you come with this plan?”
“Charles, I was left with no choice. William, that b*stard, had been keeping a close eye on me as he f*cking suspects that I have something to do with his mother’s death. How could I sit back and do nothing about it? I just wanted dad to take my side by faking my own death and pushing the blame to William and the Saunders family. I didn’t expect William to turn the tables against me.”
“How could you be so careless, knowing that William is cunning and has his eyes fixed on you?” Charles was furious and continued to question Savannah, “Why are you so f*cking worried about his mother’s death when you have no business with it? Why did you act recklessly without talking things through with me? Are you trying to make dad hate you more?”
“I know my hands are clean, but I approved of the act and knew that it was going to happen. Dad would kill me if he finds out. I’m just trying to patch things up, okay?” Savannah retorted resentfully.
“Hah! So this is how you patch things up?” Charles was stern, “Tell me the truth. Did Raelyn tell you to do this?”
As Charles had figured it out, there was no point for Savannah to hide anymore, so she admitted, “Yes. Raelyn came up with this idea. It was the perfect plan but I can’t believe it was ruined by those b*stards, William and Ronald!”
“Perfect? It was rubbish! You really thought faking your death would be all it takes to make dad believe you? Are you that naive?” Charles sneered.
“Have you ever thought about how would things turn out if William and Ronald hadn’t interfered?”
“If those two did not mess things up, I would be sent to the hospital after attempting suicide. Then, I’ll persuade the doctor to come up with something serious to let dad think that my life is in danger. Every parent has a soft spot for their child. We would be able to take things from there when dad’s on my side,” Savannah replied with absolute certainty.
“You sure are dumb! How could you be so brainless!” Charles snorted and continued, “There is only one way to make dad, William and the Saunders family turn against each other, and that would only happen if you were really dead. It would never happen as long as you’re alive. Raelyn is not planning things in your favor. She might have been setting you up all this time! You should be grateful that William and Ronald saved you, or you might really have been dead by now.”
“Charles, are you listening to yourself? Why would she harm me when we have been friends for so many years? I don’t believe you!” Savannah refused to accept Charles’ speculations.
“What are friends really for? It’s nothing when there is a conflict of interest. Raelyn is not as good as you think, and I suspect that she suggested the plan to you so that she could get rid of you.”
“That’s impossible! I don’t believe you at all!”
“Come on, think about it. Everything would come to an end if you were really dead. She would throw you under the bus by blaming everything on you. Dad and William would hate you as they would think that you were the mastermind behind everything. Since you’re dead, she could roam free and everyone would continue on with their lives.”
“That… that is just evil!” Streams of cold sweats broke out all over Savannah’s body as she continued, “How dare she come up with something like this? Well, an eye for an eye. I’ll lay my cards on the table with her tomorrow!”
Not long ago, Ashley, an outsider, was insisted to leave the house when Charles brought Savannah back.
Ashley knew that Charles had wanted to have a word with Savannah in private, so Ashley left obediently when he had asked her to.
Soon, Ashley returned to her apartment that she had rented after leaving Charles’ villa. She was awfully depressed as she thought things would get better if she had joined forces with Savannah and Charles. However, she found that she was still at square one.
To Charles, she was just something he could toy around with when he felt like it, whereas Savannah had never taken her seriously at all. Right now, Raelyn was her only hope, so she had to cling to Raelyn in hopes to gain some benefit from her.
Just then, someone knocked faintly on Ashley’s front door when she was lost in her thoughts. She rushed to open the door and was surprised to see Raelyn there.
Ashley immediately leaned sideways and said, “Mrs. Anderson, please come in!”
Raelyn nodded as she entered Ashley’s apartment and looked around before she continued, “How could they let you live in a place like this!”
Ashley forced a smile and offered Raelyn to have a seat as she asked, “Mrs. Anderson, would you like some tea?”
“No, thank you. I came here to discuss something urgent with you.” Raelyn gestured Ashley to sit down as she continued, “I know what you’re trying to achieve and what you’re going through right now. I’ll help you get what you want, especially things that Charles and Savannah have failed to provide you with.”
“Mrs. Anderson, thank you for your kindness. Feel free to tell me what I have to do. I will try my best.”
“Very well then, please do me a favor. I need you to get rid of Savannah as soon as possible.”
“No problem!” Ashley agreed without any hesitation.
Raelyn was very satisfied with her reaction as she continued, “Our plan would require a few changes due to today’s events. We can no longer use drugs to avoid Charles suspecting us. Hence, you would have to carry out the plan yourself.”
“Mrs. Anderson, I will do as you say,” Ashley did not think twice and agreed immediately.
“Great. Here’s a card that contains enough money for you to live comfortably. I have arranged for you to go abroad too. You could leave the country and never return after you have done what I have told you to.”
As she said this, Raelyn took out a card and passed it to Ashley. Ashley accepted the card eagerly as Raelyn looked at her favorably and said, “Get it done as soon as possible, and you’ll be free. I look forward to hearing from you soon!”
Meanwhile, Elizabeth, who had been in a coma at the hospital for quite some time, finally regained her consciousness in the early hours of the morning. She opened her eyes confusedly and stared at the ceiling for a long time before she shivered and sat up. As she fumbled around, she knocked over a bottle beside the bed and made a crisp noise in the silent ward.
Almost immediately, the nurse who was assigned to look after Elizabeth came rushing in upon hearing the noise. She was surprised to see that Elizabeth was finally awake as she pressed the call button to notify the doctor while giving Marcus a call hurriedly.
