Raelyn knew what Natasya meant, as joining forces with Paisley meant that she was betting on a risky game. On the other hand, Raelyn could always trust Natasya as she was her daughter.
However, this was not a simple matter. “Natasya, William is Valeria’s now. Making William yours meant going against your uncle and grandfather. It’s risky.”
“I’m fine with it. Why should we be afraid of them when Wolf Group would be under our control? Have you seen the way they treated us tonight? They look down on us because we are not powerful enough. If I can make William mine, they would have no choice but to accept it, wouldn’t they?”
“William isn’t easy to deal with and I’m worried that we might fail.” Raelyn was interested in this plan, but she had never once succeeded in setting William up. If he were to make a counter-attack, they would be in deep trouble.
“This is a piece of cake as we shall save the best for last. Firstly, let’s use Paisley as the opening act of our plan,” Natasya sneered.
“That’s a good idea. Let’s plan this further some other time. However, William was the reason why your uncle went to jail. I doubt that your father would approve of this…”
“The death sentence has not been commenced yet, right? William would definitely let him off the hook after I make him mine. Wouldn’t it be easier for uncle to have a lighter punishment when William decides to let it slide?”
Raelyn was finally persuaded by Natasya, “Alright, I shall use this to convince your father!”
Soon, it was getting late and the party had finally come to an end. Valeria and William returned to the villa holding hands after they had sent away the last batch of guests.
The beach was deadly quiet in the middle of the night. A crescent moon hung in the sky, and the sound of waves hurled up against the coast, which coincided with their footsteps.
Valeria leaned against William and said, “Hubby, don’t you think it’s breathtaking?”
“What? I can’t even see a thing, so how is it breathtaking?”
“Can’t you be a little imaginative? The gentle sea breeze, the bright moon, and lovers holding hands while strolling by the beach romantically…”
“If that’s the case, I think we should be romantic in bed instead!”
Valeria was annoyed by this as she pinched William’s waist. He cried out and asked, “Why did you pinch me?”
“You’re unromantic! You’re lucky that I just gave you a small pinch instead of a big one!”
William laughed as he looked at Valeria’s pouty lips, “I’m just teasing you. We can’t spend the night in bed tonight even if I wanted to. Why don’t we stroll on the beach until dawn?”
“Is that okay? Wouldn’t you be too tired?” Valeria hesitated at this idea as her feet could no longer take it anymore. She had been in high heels ever since the party started.
“I have an idea. I’ll ask Bobby to send a tent over so we can camp by the beach and spend the night here. It would be better than to return and ruin things between Michael and Abbie.”
As he said this, William gave Bobby a call and informed him to bring a tent and two sleeping bags over.
Valeria was excited about the idea of camping by the beach, “Honey, would the waves wash us away during the night?”
“Don’t be silly, honey. It would not happen as long as we set up our tent away from the sea.”
“Do you know how to set up a tent?” Valeria asked again curiously.
“Of course, there’s nothing that your man can’t do.”
Not long after, Bobby delivered the tent and William began setting it up at the speed of lightning and managed to complete the task without Bobby’s help. After that, he placed a mat inside it before pulling Valeria into the tent with him. At this, Bobby shook his head and left.
Inside the tent, William and Valeria wrapped themselves tightly in the sleeping bags. They were not tired at all and chatted for a long time. Soon, Valeria maneuvered their conversation to Abbie and Michael.
“Honey, Abbie told me that Natasya had spotted her and Michael together just now. She’s worried about it.”
“Don’t worry. Michael hid her well and it was dark. I doubt that Natasya was able to see her clearly.”
“How could Michael be so careless? He knew that his relationship with Abbie should be kept a secret but insisted on doing things in an open space. Richard would kill him if he finds out about it,” Valeria complained.
William chuckled, “Well, you can’t blame him for behaving in this way. He has been holding it in for many years now, and Abbie is finally willing to give him a chance. He must want to be with her any chance he gets.”
“Back then, did they love each other very much? If they did, then why would they end up like this? You told me that Abbie has lost her memories and forgotten about Michael. How did it happen?”
“They were madly in love back then, and even Richard had approved of their relationship. Unfortunately, everything went south when Azalea appeared in the picture,” William sighed.
“Michael and Azalea’s mothers were best friends, and Michael’s mother promised Azalea’s that their children would marry each other. Azalea happened to be abroad at that time and Michael’s mother had spared no efforts to bring Azalea and Michael together. She didn’t reveal her intention and had only told Michael to take good care of Azalea. Abbie and Michael were already an item, and Abbie would get jealous when Michael spent too much time with Azalea. The couple often got into fights because of Azalea. One time, Abbie was met with a car accident during one of their arguments and Michael had gotten drunk due to his depressed state at that time. Richard bumped into him in a club that night, and was pissed as there were women lingering beside him. Richard had beaten the sh*t out of Michael. Abbie spent a few good months at the hospital and after she was discharged, they realized that she had forgotten all about Michael.”
“She only forgot about Michael?” Valeria asked.
“Yes, she lost all her memories about Michael but still remembered things apart from that. The doctor said that Michael had hurt her too much, hence the selective amnesia.”
“Is there such a thing? That’s ridiculous!” Valeria murmured.
“No wonder I didn’t notice any changes in Abbie as she had only forgotten certain things. If she could never recall what happened between her and Michael, wouldn’t that be a good thing for her?”
“It’s different for Michael. The love of his life is just right in front of his eyes but she no longer remembers him. It’s too painful for anyone to handle.”
“Why would Michael agree to marry Azalea if he really loves Abbie?” Valeria asked.
“He didn’t have a choice. Mrs. Davis, Meadow, forced him to be with Azalea. She threatened to arrange blind dates for him on a daily basis if he were to disagree on marrying Azalea. Michael was so annoyed and had to pretend to be with Azalea to fulfill his mother’s wishes.”
“However, I’m worried that Azalea might take things seriously. Michael is indeed careless and dumb if I were to be honest. Why isn’t he as smart as you?”
William laughed and said, “Michael is different from me. He’s a famous lawyer and the pride of the Davis family. Me? I’m just a playboy and no one cares about what I do. Hence, I had more freedom and was met with less trouble.”
“Honey, I still think that you are the best. You’ll always be the one I love! I love you!”
“You’ll always be the one for me too. I love you too!” William reached out to caress Valeria’s face as he planted a gentle and loving kiss on it.
