Chapter 520 Intentions and Lies

Instead of having a good time drinking, William was forced to listen to Michael’s complaints and whines throughout the entire night. William didn’t know that Michael had so much on his mind.
Michael had a few drinks while talking about his and Abbie’s love life, from how they met until they broke up. William couldn’t take it anymore and with the alcohol kicking in, he fell asleep on the sofa.
The next morning, William was awakened by the numbness on his arm and the sun shining brightly on him. He squinted his eyes and laughed at himself while rubbing on his numbed arm. Then, he kicked Michael who was still dead asleep on the sofa, and said, “The sun is up, you should be too!”
However, Michael muttered in response. He flipped to his side and went back to sleep. As he saw this, William shook his head and went to wash himself up.
William’s phone rang while he was in the shower, so he quickly wrapped a towel around himself and rushed outside to pick up his phone. Valeria’s unhappy voice came through, “William, where are you? Why didn’t you come home yesterday? Were you partying last night?”
“No, I wouldn’t dare to! I’m at the Wolf Group right now. I had a few drinks with Michael here yesterday.”
“Why would you even drink with that jerk? You should stay away from him in the future,” Valeria muttered discontentedly.
“Honey, you’re being ridiculous. He’s my friend, just like how you and Abbie are. If I were to tell you to stay away from Abbie, would you have agreed?”
“I knew that you would reply me like this. What if I were to let you choose between me and your friends? Who would you choose?”
“That’s stupid. Let’s not talk about that. We’re adults, after all.”
“Alright, it’s just that I’m missing you already! I feel so lonely despite not being able to see you for just one night. William, did you drug me? I think I’m lovesick!”
William was a sucker when his wife was being lovey-dovey like this with him. “I miss you so much, too. Come over to Wolf Group, your husband shall treat you to a big feast!”
“No, Abbie said that I have gained some weight ever since being married to you. I want to go on a diet! This way, you won’t have an excuse to fall in love with slim b*tches out there.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll always love you for the way you are.”
“I knew my cheeky husband would say that. Okay, let’s get down to business now. Do you know the venue of the party that my dad will be throwing for me?”
“Yeah, I do. It’s at the seaside villa,” William replied.
“Why didn’t you tell me if you’d known about it? You’re so mean! I feel pathetic for only knowing about it now. By the way, that villa is not far from your house.”
“It’s not my house, it’s ours!” William corrected her.
“Whoops, my bad. Honey, is it okay if Abbie and I head over to our house to relax for a bit?”
“Of course you can. But come to think of it, my wife is getting more cunning these days. You’d just told me that you miss me and were having trouble falling asleep, but now you’re intending to spend more time with Abbie. Have you ever considered your husband’s feelings?”
“I don’t think they’re related!” Valeria retorted undoubtedly.
“Alright, alright, you may go. The password is your birthday. You shall bring Abbie over then. By the way, would you like me to prepare some food for you?”
“No, it’s fine. We’ll prepare it ourselves. Oh, and I’ve only brought along some stuff with me, so could you please help me bring over my dress and jewelry?”
After ending the call with William, Valeria sprung up and said, “He agreed! Let’s go! We’ll stop by for some groceries at the supermarket first.”
Meanwhile, after Talitha had spent the night at the hospital, Paisley came to visit her the next morning with a bouquet of fresh flowers. She felt sympathetic towards Talitha, who had a swollen face that was covered in bruises, “Abbie has crossed the line! How could she be so ruthless?”
Talitha had initially thought that her grandfather, uncle, and parents would give their all to avenge her. However, after a hectic night, Richard had found a witness who was willing to prove that it was Talitha who provoked Abbie in the first place. Not only that, the injuries that Talitha suffered had nothing to do with Abbie as Talitha had fallen and injured herself. After getting ahold of the situation, Talitha knew that she had no chance of turning the tables.
Talitha used to step all over others in the past, and it seemed that she had to reap what she sowed this time.
She was not just devastated for getting beaten up. She was also crushed that she could not doll up herself to attend Valeria’s party in hopes to attract handsome guys. Judging by her injuries, she knew that it was impossible.
Talitha wasn’t touched that Paisley had come to visit her, instead, she felt annoyed.
Paisley had intended to fish some information out of Talitha by visiting her as she had assumed that the Saunders family and Richard would go head to head. By then, she could seize the opportunity to get her revenge as well. However, her plan went down the drain immediately as the Saunders family did not intend to make a move.
Soon, Paisley returned home depressed. As she was passing by an intersection, she saw Valeria and Abbie drove past her in a convertible sports car with bright smiles. She could see that the back seat was filled with delicious-looking food.
Seeing them this happy as they cruised by leisurely, Paisley’s mood went down the hill. She still hadn’t gotten anything in return despite giving it her all, but Valeria, on the other hand, was becoming better by the day. Paisley hoped that she could succeed in shaming Valeria at her party tomorrow.
As she thought about this, Paisley wondered how were things going on Raelyn’s side. Would Savannah take the bait?
If she decided not to join the club, extreme measures should then be taken.
Paisley honestly did not intend to get herself in trouble because of Savannah. However, she had no choice but to make this move in hopes to achieve her ultimate objective.
Then, she gave a call to her men, “Keep an eye on Savannah, especially today and tomorrow. Update me on her every move.”
Meanwhile, after Savannah was convinced and threatened by Raelyn, she had finally agreed to stage a fake suicide. However, Savannah would not follow Raelyn’s plans entirely as she was not a naïve person.
She had agreed to record a video of her stating that she wanted to die, but she did not intend to take a placebo drug prepared by Raelyn to make her death more believable and realistic. There were many death cases due to being wrongfully drugged, and she would not want to take the risk. Moreover, she knew many secrets about Raelyn, so seeing how ruthless Raelyn was, Savannah did not doubt that Raelyn would show no mercy on her if the opportunity came.
Therefore, Savannah had to come up with a better plan to fake her death.
At this moment, a phone call from Ronald came through while Savannah was still lost in her thoughts, “Come over to my place earlier today. I’ve prepared your favorite dish. It’s stewed mutton.”
“Alright, I’ll be there,” Savannah replied gently. After hanging up, Savannah’s expression changed instantly as she cursed, “That son of a b*tch! I don’t have the f*cking appetite to have any mutton, I want to have a piece of you instead!
After a few more curses, she stood up and started to pace around the room. Suddenly, her eyes lit up as an idea hit her.
With Ronald pestering her all the time, it meant that she didn’t have any time and space to herself. Therefore, she needed to get rid of Ronald before she staged her own death tomorrow. Tonight, she would put on an act to coax Ronald so that he would let down his guard, and she would drug him before leaving the next day. He shall then be dead asleep for the entire day and would not hinder Savannah’s plan.
As she thought about this, Savannah opened a drawer and retrieved a few sleeping pills from it. She then dolled herself up and rushed to Ronald’s place.
