Abbie didn’t expect Michael to fall like that, and she did not know whether she should help him up.
When William saw that Abbie was hesitant, he immediately pulled Valeria out of the room and closed the door behind him. When they were outside, Valeria was worried, “Would they be okay?”
“Nothing will happen! What can he do when he’s so drunk? Didn’t you see how silly he was? We should have recorded a video of him.” Valeria laughed when she heard him say that.
“Honey, are we going back now?”
“No, Richard will be suspicious if we do. Come on, I’ll show you the beautiful scenery at the top floor.” William said as he pulled her towards the lift and pressed the button.
The elevator went up as Valeria nestled in his arms. “Honey, what’s going on between Abbie and Michael anyway? Why didn’t I know that she liked Michael?”
“They had a very close and deep relationship when they were abroad.” William said.
“And when was that? Why didn’t I know about it?” Valeria asked in surprise.
“I think it was three years ago. You and Abbie are close, do you remember when Abbie was involved in an accident?”
“I remember, wasn’t it a car accident? I was worried sick when I heard about it. Luckily Abbie recovered from it.”
“What happened back then was that Abbie and Michael had a fight because of a misunderstanding. She was drunk and was on her way home, but she got into an accident.”
“Huh? Why didn’t Abbie tell me about this? I didn’t know that they were together last time.” Valeria could not believe it. “Does she hate Michael?”
“No, she loves Michael very much, and Michael loves her a lot too. If she hated him, all of that wouldn’t have happened.”
“If so, then why is Michael engaged to Azalea Clark?” Valeria was confused.
“It’s all because of Michael’s mother, Meadow Harris. So, Michael was forced to do it.” William shook his head and sighed. “Valeria, Abbie lost a part of her memory after that accident. She forgot all about what happened between her and Michael when they were abroad.”
“What? Is this possible?”
“It is. So the reason she didn’t tell you was because she didn’t even remember it. So the only ones who know about this are me, Michael, Richard and Azalea. No one else knows about it.”
“So what should we do now? Michael and Azalea are engaged, so Richard would definitely not allow him to be with Abbie. Right?”
“Exactly! When Abbie was involved in that accident, Richard almost killed Michael. When Abbie woke up and forgot about her relationship with Michael, he was actually pleased! So, he would never let Michael be with Abbie. But Richard treats Abbie very dearly. If she insists on being with Michael, I don’t think he’ll stop them.”
Then, the lift stopped as they were talking about this. William led her out and they walked to the rooftop.
Standing on the top floor of Wolf Group, she could see the entire city. Cars were going in all directions and the buildings’ lights were twinkling and shining like stars. Valeria exclaimed, “Wow! It’s beautiful!”
“I know, right? But my wife is way more beautiful! Come, give me a kiss! I missed you a lot since we haven’t seen each other for a whole day today.”
“Nonsense, it’s not even a day yet.”
“It’s because I miss you too much, and I can’t stand being away from you, not even for one minute.” William said as he circled her waist and lowered his head to kiss her. Then, the both of them started kissing passionately on the rooftop.
After Abbie left with Valeria, Raymond sang gloomily by himself. After a few songs, Abbie still did not return.
He muttered to himself, “Why isn’t she coming back?”
It was too boring to sing alone, so he went over to where Richard, Marcus, and Andrew were playing dice. He walked over dispiritedly and sat next to them.
Andrew threw him a glance and said, “Why have you stopped singing?”
Raymond sighed and replied, “No one is singing with me. How am I supposed to sing alone?”
“Where is Miss Clark?” Andrew asked as he laughed.
“Michael was drunk, so Uncle William brought him somewhere to rest. Then Valeria came and pulled Abbie out with her and they haven’t returned yet. What are they doing?”
At first, Richard’s focus was entirely on the dices, until he heard what Raymond said. He looked up and when he could not see Michael anywhere, he frowned.
What he saw when he first arrived tonight was too strange. Could Michael still have feelings for Abbie?
He would never allow that to happen! So, Richard immediately stood up and said, “I’m going out for a while.”
Seeing his expression, Marcus knew that Richard was suspicious, so he quickly sent a message to William.
As William and Valeria were making out, he ignored his phone when it rang.
As for Richard, he started looking for William once he stepped out of the room. However, he could not see William or Michael anywhere.
Didn’t William say that he had brought Michael out to rest? So where were they?
He could not see William and Michael anywhere, nor did he see Valeria and Abbie. It was getting stranger by the minute.
Something was definitely up, and Richard frowned as he thought about this. If William brought Michael out to rest, he would definitely bring him to the most luxurious lounge, and not just any lounge there.
As he thought about this, he then rushed towards the most luxurious rooms.
He opened each room to see if they were inside, but there was no sign of them.
When he arrived at the fourth lounge, he heard Abbie’s voice coming from inside. Richard was stunned briefly, and with a hint of anger, he kicked the door open.
On the other hand, after William and Valeria left, Michael was still struggling on the sofa and couldn’t get up no matter how he tried. Abbie just stood next to him, watching his every move.
After struggling for a while, he rolled onto the floor and laid there without moving.
When Abbie saw him lying on the ground, she hesitated before walking to him. She kicked him and said, “Hey, get up!”
Michael did not move, so Abbie kicked him impatiently again. “Get up, now!”
However, Michael didn’t move an inch. Did he hurt his head? Abbie was worried, so she crouched down and nudged him.
In the end, she could not bear to leave him alone, so she helped him up. As he was really heavy when he was drunk, she finally laid him on the sofa after much effort.
Seeing Michael laying there motionless, Abbie got a little worried. Did he hurt his head when he fell on the floor?
Then, she reached out to see if he was still breathing. To her relief, he was breathing steadily, so it meant that he was fine.
As she thought about this, she pushed him and said, “Michael! Wake up!”
Michael didn’t react and he slept like a dead man. He wouldn’t budge or wake up no matter how hard she pushed him. Suddenly, the door burst open and Richard entered the room with a murderous glare.
