When the door was kicked open, Abbie jumped in shock. Then, she turned to the door and saw Richard barge in. “Uh? Richard!”
Once he entered the room and saw Michael laying on the sofa, he flew into a rage. It was just as he had imagined, Michael was trying to get together with Abbie!
Richard was furious. “D*mn it, Michael! You are doomed now!”
While cursing at him, he immediately went up to him and pulled him up, but Abbie quickly stopped him. “Bro, what are you doing?”
Richard pushed Abbie aside and punched Michael on the face as hard as he could.
Michael, who had had too much to drink and was already dizzy, vomited when Richard punched his abdomen.
After clearing his stomach, he was almost sober. When he saw Richard in front of him, he widened his eyes in horror. Oh no!
Richard was covered in vomit and this made his anger fuel. He punched him several more times until Abbie hugged him from behind to stop him. “Richard, what are you doing? Why are you hitting him?”
“B*stard! How dare he try to seduce you! I’m going to kill him!”
“Richard, what are you talking about? I was the one who walked in here myself. How could he do anything in his drunken state?”
“Do you think I’m stupid? Were William and Valeria involved in this? Did they set this up for you and Michael?” Richard was enraged.
“That b*stard William. I treat him like my buddy, and this is how he repays me? He’ll pay for this.” Richard said as he called William on his phone.
Michael was hurting so badly after getting punched that he laid on the sofa without moving an inch. In his mind, he thought, “That idiot William, where did he go? Why isn’t he stopping Richard? He’s about to kill me…”
Upon hearing Richard call William, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief and thought, “That d*mned Richard! How could he be so ruthless and cruel! I’ll definitely get back at him…”
William and Valeria, who were at the rooftop, were irritated by the constant ringing of the phone as it had interrupted their passionate moment. Then, William picked it up impatiently. “Hello?”
“William, I didn’t expect you to help that b*stard Michael set Abbie up. You had better come over right now. You need to explain what the hell is going on.”
William was stunned for a moment. Before he could react, Richard had already hung up.
Valeria could hear Richard shouting at the other end too as she looked at William. “Oh no, Richard had found out about it! What should we do? Will he hit you, honey?”
“No, it’s all right. Come on, let’s go take a look.” William grabbed her hand and left the rooftop.
When they arrived, the room was in a mess. After Michael was punched a few more times, he continued to act dumb and drunk. This enraged Richard once more and he was about to kick him again.
Abbie stopped Richard with all the strength in her. “Richard, are you crazy? Why are you hitting him?”
“Because he’s seducing you! I will kill him today!”
“He didn’t seduce me! How many times do I have to tell you!”
“Humph! If he didn’t, why would you be in here with him?” Richard could not stand seeing Michael put on an act, and he was even covered with vomit. “D*mn it! How dare he act dumb! I’m going to kill him!”
While they were arguing, William pulled Valeria inside and frowned. “What’s going on here? What are you doing?”
“William, let me ask you, are you both helping Michael set Abbie up?”
“No!” William replied without missing a beat. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I only brought him here to rest when I saw how drunk he was. Then I went to enjoy the night view with my wife at the rooftop. What do you mean setting Abbie up?”
“Are you playing dumb with me? I’m not an idiot, William. You brought Michael here, and then Valeria led Abbie here too. I don’t believe that it wasn’t the both of you who planned this!”
William looked at Abbie with a weak smile on his face. “Abbie, tell him the truth. Did we set you and Michael up?”
“No! William, don’t listen to my brother’s nonsense. He must be drunk!” Abbie pulled Richard’s arm and said, “Richard, stop it! Let’s just go.”
“I’m not leaving, unless you explain what is really happening!” Richard refused to leave.
“What do you want us to say? I had to talk to Abbie about some women’s stuff. What does this have to do with you, Mr. Clark? Besides, Abbie is my best friend and she’s like a sister to me. Why would I set her up?” Valeria spoke up.
“Yeah, she’s right. Valeria brought me outside to talk about something. Then, she left with William. This has nothing to do with them!”
“Then why are you here with this b*stard alone?” Richard pointed at Michael and asked furiously.
“I heard that Michael got drunk, so I came in to take a look. I saw that he was lying on the ground, so I helped him on to the sofa. Is anything wrong with that? Why did you have to hit him?” Abbie asked.
Richard could not answer that, so he said sulkily, “I don’t believe any of it. All of you must be plotting something!”
“What could we possibly be plotting?” Abbie asked. “Richard, you said that Michael was seducing me. Look at him, how could he possibly seduce me in that state. Besides, do you think I’ll be seduced by him? I have my standards, okay?”
At first, Michael was happy that Abbie had tried to protect him. But hearing her last sentence, his face darkened instantly. Was she saying that he was not good enough?
William laughed secretly when he heard this, but he knew that this was not the time to laugh at him. Then, he immediately answered after Abbie without missing a beat.
“So do you understand what’s going on now? I was having a great time with my wife on the rooftop until you interrupted us. Are you crazy, Richard? Wait till Michael sobers up tomorrow. He’s not going to let you off the hook easily. Do you think he’s a pushover? Just because he let you scold him and blame him in the past, it doesn’t mean that you can beat him up without any reason now. If he finds out about this tomorrow, he won’t forgive you. I don’t want to get involved in this mess anymore!”
William said it so boastfully that Richard was no longer sure of himself. Looking at Valeria’s swollen lips, it was obvious that William and Valeria had been making out on the rooftop.
Besides, he hadn’t noticed anything weird when he saw Abbie and Michael in the room. He could only see that Michael was drunk, motionless, and was lying on the sofa.
He had rushed in and had started to kick and punch him without even knowing the truth. Michael would never forgive when he sobered up!
As he thought about this, Richard felt a little guilty and thought that it was probably best if he left the room first. So, he grabbed Abbie’s hand and said, “You guys can make up whatever you want, anyway. Abbie, let’s go!”
“Why are you leaving? You should stay behind and wait until Michael wakes up so that he can deal with you!” William chased after him as he ran away with Abbie without looking back.
Seeing Richard pull Abbie into the elevator, Valeria grabbed William’s hand and said, “Honey, they’re gone. You can stop acting now.”
