Chapter 353 Like He Was Looking At His Enemy

Once Hayden said these words, the expression on Paisley’s face changed drastically. Seeing that, Hayden sighed.
“Please don’t do that anymore. All his men are trained to kill. They don’t go lightly on people. Someone might even die if you don’t stop this. The thing is, we can’t find proof that it was him. Even though we know the truth, there’s nothing we can do about it!”
Paisley came back to her senses and answered in a low voice, “Okay.”
Hayden could tell from her expression that she was embarrassed and angry, and he sighed slightly.
“I’ve sent people to check, by the way. William and Valeria have not registered for their marriage yet. He’s always been arrogant since young, so he must have done this because he didn’t get what he’d wanted. So we can only let him vent his anger like this. It’s better than holding it in, though.”
After saying that, Hayden stood up and left. Paisley sat in her chair without moving an inch.
Seeing how her bodyguards were hurt badly, she could tell that William was really ruthless. He must have known that they were her men, so he hadn’t shown them mercy at all.
Paisley had thought that her plan was perfect and never did she expect that it would fail with her men injured this badly. William had hated her before. With what happened, he must have despised her even more now.
Although William and Valeria did not get their marriage certificate and this was good news to her, she wouldn’t gain anything if William had hated her more. Thinking about this, it was the first time she felt so powerless.
Meanwhile, William had brought Valeria to the beach where they got on a luxurious yacht. It went in the direction of the deep sea, and both of them stood side by side at the highest deck as they took in the breathtaking view.
The sun was shining brightly and the sea breeze was tingling in the air. The sea and blue sky stretched across the horizon, and they looked as if they were connected with each other. As Valeria spread out her arms, she turned to William and stuck her tongue out, “Hello, Jack.”
William knew that she wanted to act out the scene from ‘Titanic’.
Smiling, he went over and wrapped his arms around her waist. “Shh, give me your hand.”
Valeria held out her hand. William then smiled and murmured, “Now, close your eyes.”
She couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Then, William carried her up and put her on the railing. He stopped using the lines from the movie and said, “Alright! You can fly now!”
Valeria faced the ocean and stretched out her hands as if she were flying. She was afraid of heights, but at that moment, as William held her on the railing of the moving yacht, with the deep sea beneath her, she was not afraid at all.
She trusted William enough to spread her arms out freely and widely while shouting loudly, “William Howard! I am so happy right now! I’m the happiest woman on earth! I love you! I want to tell the world! That you are the only one for me!”
William’s smile shone as he looked at Valeria lovingly. The both of them fooled around for a while until William’s phone rang. Once he picked up, a clear and bright voice rang, “Uncle!”
William paused for a moment. “Raymond?”
“Yes, it’s me! I just got off the airplane. My mom came to get me and said that we’re going to visit grandpa today. I’ll be in B City in three hours. You’d better get ready to treat me to something good tonight!”
“Tonight?” William frowned. “I can’t tonight!”
“Why not?” Raymond asked.
William glanced at Valeria. Today was the day they got their marriage certificate, so, of course he had to spend the day with her. But, Raymond had just came home today, so he couldn’t just ignore him. Then, he coughed awkwardly in reply.
“When you visit your grandfather, he’ll definitely ask you to stay for dinner. I’m not going to join you guys. How about I treat you to dinner tomorrow?”
“No, you must treat me tonight! Bring Richard and Abbie along too. I don’t really care where you’re bringing me, as long as Abbie’s coming.” William could hear the grin on his face through the line.
William burst into laughter. “Abbie has a boyfriend! You should look for someone else!”
“I like Abbie! I’m not interest in other women. You’ll help me, right?
“Well… I don’t think it’ll be easy!” William had to tell him the truth. He knew that Michael was persistent in pursuing Abbie too. Both of them were important to him, so he couldn’t take any of their sides. “It’s up to Abbie, anyway. I don’t think you’re her type, though.”
Valeria was extremely curious when she heard what William said. “Who’s interested in Abbie? Is he handsome?”
“Of course I’m handsome!”
On the other end of the phone, Raymond heard Valeria’s voice and was curious about her too. “Uncle, the woman next to you has a nice voice! She must be really pretty too, right?”
As he heard this, William felt a little awkward as he knew Raymond and Valeria were actually siblings. Valeria called him her husband while he was Raymond’s uncle. It was all too weird! He avoided the question as he didn’t think it was the right time to explain. “I’m hanging up. I’ll call you tomorrow!”
Hearing that William’s voice had been replaced by a beeping sound, Raymond muttered discontentedly, “Hah! Uncle William hasn’t changed one bit. Women are still more important than his nephew!”
Savannah was sitting next to him with a smile on her face. “Raymond, you can enjoy your time with your uncle when you’re in B City. Once you’ve had enough rest, you can start work at your father’s company.”
“I don’t think my dad would want me to work there, though.” Raymond and Archer weren’t particularly close and he was not that close with Charles, George, and Philip either. However, surprisingly, he was on great terms with William. “Mom, I don’t think I have to go to dad’s company. I could just follow Uncle William around.”
“Why should you do that? Listen to me. Go work at your dad’s company after you’ve had your fun. You’re the next owner of the Saunders’ company. Of course, you would have to learn the ropes.”
“But father’s attitude towards me…” Raymond glanced at Savannah but did not finish his sentence. After all, he was not a fool. Since young, he could always sense the disharmony between his parents, and every time Archer looked at Raymond, his gaze was not like a loving father, but it was as if he was looking at an enemy.
However, Savannah smiled gently and said, “Don’t mind him! Your father’s cold on the outside but in fact, he’s really warm on the inside. You just have to get used to it!”
“Mom, has he been nice to you all these years?” Raymond asked as he looked at his mother’s gentle smile.
“He’s the same as always. We’ve been together for so long, so we can’t possibly act like we’re still young and in love!” Savannah forced a smile and said.
“Dad is just too proud. My friends’ parents have been married for a long time too, but they are still madly in love with each other. They go everywhere together, unlike dad. I’ve never see him getting you anything! Why did you marry such a boring and unromantic man, mom?”
Raymond felt that it was his mother’s loss, but Savannah did not look touched at his words. “Don’t say things like that about your father! Raymond, you don’t have to care about your dad and I. Just do what you’re supposed to do.”
“How could I not care? You are my mom, and he’s my dad. I don’t like how he’s treating you at all. You are the eldest daughter of the Howard family after all. Why are you treating yourself like this? There’re plenty of men out there. If you’re not happy with dad, you could just divorce him and marry someone else! I fully support that!”
“Shut up! Do you know what you’re talking about?” Savannah’s smile vanished as soon as she heard his words. She looked at Raymond furiously, which startled him.
“Mom, it’s for your own good!”
“Shut up. Do you hear me?” Savannah suppressed the anger in her that was boiling. She had wanted to shout at him, but she forced the words back down.
D*mn it! How could he ask her to divorce Archer? Did he know how much effort it took her to marry him?
How could she divorce him? If she did, all her efforts would have gone down the drain.
Such an ungrateful child! She couldn’t believe she had raised such an ungrateful brat for more than 20 years. He was just like his mother!
