When the both of them got on their car, William told Marcus, “You can go back now. I am going to disappear with Valeria for a day!”
Marcus laughed as he got down. “Mr. Howard, did you block Michael? He has been calling me countless times.”
As soon as he said that, Marcus’s phone rang again. Marcus took a look and said, “It’s Michael again.”
William could understand how he was feeling. He must be going crazy.
He was in a good mood today so he didn’t make things hard for Michael. “Tell him the room number, he can go look for her.”
Marcus complied and returned the call. William started the engine and brought Valeria to the seaside.
On their way, Bobby called. “It’s all settled! You should be prepared to get scolded by Mr. Howard.”
William pursed his lips and smiled. “Good job!”
“By the way, sir, there were men from the Anthony family too. Mr. Hayden’s men were just bruised, but those from the Anthony family might need to rest for a few months.”
William sneered. “They deserve it!”
Valeria who was sitting next to him heard this and turned her head in confusion. She asked, “What have you done?”
“Nothing!” William put his phone down and touched Valeria’s head. “Mrs. Howard, please tone down that smile of yours. If others see it, they’ll see that you are elated.”
“Who’s elated!” Valeria glared at him.
“You’ve been smiling since you walked out. Are you ecstatic that you’re now married to me?” William asked her.
Could he tell? Valeria’s face reddened in embarrassment. She was indeed very happy, but when William said it out, she felt awkward. “Aren’t you happy that you get to marry a wife like me? Hurry up and smile, Mr. Howard!”
William grinned when she said that. When he saw her flushed face, he couldn’t help but pinch her cheeks. “To have such a great husband like me, you shall just enjoy life in future!”
He was too narcissistic. Valeria too pinched his cheek and said, “You should perform well! If you don’t, you’ll have to kneel on keyboards in future!”
At Wolf Group, Michael was like a blind fly. He was pacing around the lobby for a few hours until Marcus called him to tell him Abbie’s room number.
Michael breathed out a sigh of relief and took the lift to her room. He knocked on the door for a while until Abbie finally opened the door. She rubbed her eyes as she did so.
Seeing that it was Michael, she raised her hand to slap him. Before she could, Michael stopped her by pulling her into his arms. Then, he closed the door.
He was relieved that there was nothing he didn’t want to see in the room. Even though he knew that William wouldn’t let anything bad happen to Abbie, he had to see it for himself.
Abbie, who was in his arms, struggled to get out of his hold and scolded him. Michael, on the other hand, hugged her tightly and said, “Abbie, I can explain!”
“Get out! You jerk! Let me go!” Abbie was a woman after all. She was furious that she couldn’t escape Michael’s hold on her. “You jerk! Can you not be so shameless? I’ve made it clear to you! And I don’t want to listen to your explanation. You’d better get away from me!”
“Abbie, you’re the one I really like! There is nothing going on between me and Azalea Clark!”
“Get lost!” If they were really unrelated, would they hold hands and smile so sweetly? Michael was now Azalea’s fiance. Why did he seduce her? Did he really think that she was a silly young girl?
Abbie hated him to the core. Since she could not get out of his hold, she bit his arm as hard as he could.
Abbie hated Michael to the extreme, so she bit with the most force she could muster. It hurt Michael so much that he shouted in pain. His flesh was almost bitten off, and he couldn’t hold it in anymore so he let her go.
Abbie raised her hand to slap him, but when she saw his hand bleeding profusely and cry in pain, she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
She pointed at the door and said ruthlessly, “Get out! Immediately! If you don’t, I’m going to call my brother. How dare you seduce me! My brother will skin you alive if he knows about it!”
Michael was reluctant to leave. He clutched his hand and cried out, “Ouch! My hand is going to break! It hurts a lot!”
“You deserve it! Who allowed you to touch me!” Abbie shouted fiercely at him. But when she saw blood oozing out of his arm, her eyes had a hint of apology towards him. So she was not as intimidating as before.
Michael was an observant man. He could tell that Abbie’s heart had softened. And since his hand was still hurting, he whimpered and said, “Abbie, it hurts a lot! I might die of pain… My heart hurts too!”
“B*stard, do you still have a fu*king heart? How dare you lie to me? You’re just looking for trouble!”
“I didn’t lie! The last time we met was at my grandfather’s birthday. Azalea said that her new movie was about to premiere and that she needed the popularity. If I accompanied her one more time in public and help her boost her popularity, she would consider breaking up with me. I wanted to break up with her before being with you, that’s why I brought her to my grandfather’s birthday gathering.”
Michael groaned while explaining, “Ouch! Abbie, it hurts too much! I can’t stand it anymore. Hurry, bring me to the doctor!”
“You can go yourself!”
“I can’t move. I’m about to die!” Michael laid on the sofa and shouted. Half of it was true as it really hurt a lot.
Seeing how pitiful he was, she couldn’t bear it. “I’ll get the hotel’s doctor up for you.”
Abbie picked up her phone and Michael heaved a sigh of relief. “He was safe today. That William, I’ll make you pay for this!”
After Paisley called her bodyguard, she rushed to Howard Group and waited in the office. However, William still did not arrive when it was already 10 o’clock. So she called over his secretary, Steven, and asked about it. Steven told her that he couldn’t get through to his phone, and didn’t know what was happening.
Paisley was a little uneasy as she heard this. Could he have gone to get his marriage certificate? But didn’t her bodyguards tell her that he went to her office?
If that were the case, why couldn’t they contact him? Paisley murmured to herself. And since the bodyguards did not call her again, it meant that nothing else happened.
Just to be sure, Paisley called her bodyguards again. However, there was no answer.
This was obviously weird. Did something happen?
As Paisley was still thinking about it, footsteps sounded her way. Hayden appeared at the door and when Paisley saw him, she stood up and greeted him, “Good morning, Mr. Howard.”
There was a hint of anger on Hayden’s face. He sat down heavily and huffed. “That d*mn William. He’s not answering his phone and has gone missing!”
“Is he busy with something?” Paisley asked deliberately.
“What could he possibly be busy with? He had done something wrong and now he’s hiding! I made some of my men follow him today, and he instructed for them to be beaten up and now they’re all in the hospital.” Once Hayden said this, Paisley’s heart sank.
If Hayden’s men were taught a lesson, was it possible that her men were spared?
As soon as she thought of this, Hayden looked at her. “Paisley, did you arrange for people to follow William?”
“Yes!” Paisley nodded in response.
“All of your men are almost crippled. You should go take a look in the hospital.”
