Say Yes and Choose me

He then went behind the bushes and pulled out a bouquet of flowers.
Like from the flowers decorated around us, they were different kinds like one rose, one daisy, one tulip, and many more just in the single bouquet.
On the other hand, he hid something behind his back that I can’t see from my view despite the fact that we are filled with lights everywhere.
He went to me and gave me the roses then showing his other hand to reveal a tub of chocolate ice cream.
“What’s this?” I asked.
He cleared his throat, “Will you give me the chance and eat this with me there?” He pointed to the comfy blanket and pillow setup.
Shrugging, I just laughed at him and nodded, feeling a bit awkward. Together, we went to the setup and sat there. I removed my hello kitty slippers and placed them on the grass beside us since I don’t want to get the blanket he set up to get dirty.
It was so comfy. I grabbed one pillow and hugged it with my arms to ease the cold feeling as a windswept by. I watched as he drew a tray table and placed the ice cream on it.
He got mugs and spoons from somewhere magically. He was about to put ice cream on the mugs but I stopped him. “Let’s just eat from the tub.”
He shrugged. I took a spoon and started to fill it with ice cream and to my mouth. It was easy since it kinda melted.
“Sorry it melted… you took so long to get here.” He said.
“Hey, it’s not like you gave me a sign or anything, if you did, I should have gotten here sooner or even ditched the prom…” I spoke up and he chuckled at that.
“Why didn’t you show up at the prom? Even just appeared for a second?” I asked, munching on the ice cream now.
“Well… I just got earlier as soon as you got out and I don’t have the time anymore. Besides… I’m not fond of those kinds of stuff..” he shrugged,
I snorted. “Says the guy who surprised me so romantically.”
“Whatever. This surprise is considered a prom.” He said.
“Is it?” I commented. I stared at the ice cream in his hand, “Why is it chocolate?”
He looked at me like I’m so stupid. “Because it’s not strawberry?” He replied sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes. “Duh. I know that but why is it not strawberry? Your personal favorite?”
“Duh, it’s your favorite.” He replied back so casually.
I creased my eyebrows. “And what about that?”
“It’s your time to shine. I’m now forcing myself to eat it as you like, but it would be only this time.”
I grinned like I won the lottery. “I’m gonna be taking advantage of this then.”
Grabbing a spoonful of ice cream, he showed it to me, “See this? I’ll eat this for you.” And he ate it, grimacing at the taste while doing so.
“Do you really hate that flavor so much?” I asked, scooping one for myself and before it could land in my mouth, Eion was fast to steal it from me and ate it himself. I rolled my eyes.
“Eion, are you sure about this?” I glanced at him. “Eating ice cream in the middle of the night, laid on a blanket with flowers around so casually… wow, what a normal night I just had.”
“Geez, just enjoy it will you?” He said. “To think I prepared it for a girl. Tsk.” He mumbled. “Gosh, getting a girlfriend is hard.”
I just smiled and stayed silent. We enjoyed the ice cream and silence, the sound of the crickets, and the occasional meows of cats outside. When we’re done, he put the tub aside and stood up.
He then turned the speakers on but I stopped him. “Use earphones, the neighbors will hear it.”
“So?”
“Then we’ll be driven out here. You want that?” I asked.
“No.” He just grabbed an earphone and gave me the other one. I placed it in my left ear, and he is in his right ear. He lay and stared up at the sky, I did the same.
“Where did you get this night picnic idea?” I’ve been wanting to ask this question. Sweet and romantic…. this is not so like Eion…
“Hm… secret.” He mumbled.
For all I know, it’s probably Dax and Leroy’s idea. I chuckled at that thought.
Silence followed as we watched the stars twinkle. Never in a million years, I had thought this would happen. Laying beside him, watching the stars. Sounds so cliche but it’s the small things that count…
A slow song appeared and Eion stared at my eyes.
“What?” I asked.
“Can I have this dance?” He inquired, I can see Eion looking at me in hope. He stood up and offered his hand to me.
I looked around. “What? Here? I’m full, I’m sleepy.” I protested. “Wait, what?”
He just smiled at me. He really looks handsome with that suit on.
“Eion,” I called out.
“Yes.”
Luke’s face came flashing in my mind in an instant. I averted my eyes to the ground, avoiding Eion’s soft face that I’m sure I won’t be able to deny…”I think this is wrong.” I said.
He suddenly got concerned at what I said, “What’s wrong?”
I gulped.
“You… me… alone… tonight and dancing…?” I trailed off, picturing Luke’s disappointed face. Well, it’s not like Luke and I are still together but I won’t just throw away the respect I had for him.
After all, I had developed feelings for him first. I feel guilty that I replaced him that easily.
Gosh, I feel so horrible!
“Luke said everything to me and I think it’s pretty clear who you chose,” Eion said.
I looked at him in shock, “Wow, Eion. Who said I’ll choose you?” I put my hands on my waist like a mother scolding her child.
“Wow, Snow. So you really chose me then?” He smirked. “It was you who said that, not me. So it’s now clear.”
“What? Eion I’m not messing up here-”
“Neither do I.”
Still sitting in the blanket, I was abruptly forced to stand up by Eion’s hands as he pulled me close to him and mumbled to my ears, “Just this night, Snow. Give me this night to dance with you.” He said and I was just silent.
“If he gave you the chance to choose between us, well damn. Because I won’t let you choose between us. I’ll make sure that you choose me tonight. And promise, Snow. You won’t regret it for the rest of your life.”
My breath hitched, shivering at that. I looked into his face, he was breathing so hard and his stare pierced right through my soul. The determination in his eyes was so tempting…
I knew already deep inside me that Eion was the one I’ll choose. But I don’t want to admit it now.
“Then what if I won’t choose you?” I whispered, bravely looking at him still straight in the eyes.
“Then that would be your problem. Because even if you won’t say yes, I’ll chase you to hell until I make you say yes and choose me. I won’t take no for an answer, Snow.”
He leaned his head to my forehead and smirked, “May the odds be in your favor.” He looked into my lips, “But I’m sure I’m already in your favor.”
He said, staring at my lips and biting at his lower lips so seductively. I closed my eyes, preventing myself from being so tempted by those lips.
“Or… you’re afraid to say yes to this dance because you’re already falling in love with me?” he said.
