EPISODE HUNDRED AND TWENTY EIGHT
THEME: Clingy Adriel
BETA JULIUS HOME
Dropping down from the car, Jaylen felt nostalgic as he stared at the house. The night he had spent with Lorelei in it crossed his mind and he felt a satisfying tingle and a rapture of fear at the same time.
“You both should head in. I will just take this call.” Rosalyn said.
“Ok, get back in on time. I don’t want to have to find you.” Jaylen joked.
“Ignore him, you will always be safe here. I got you.” Rex winked at her.
Rosalyn laughed lightly. “Off with you both already.” She waved them off.
Rosalyn watched both men bicker between each other as they went up the porch into the house. Rosalyn stared down at her phone screen. Her phone had been on airplane mode when they were in the air but the moment she had it back on in the car, Adriel had bombarded her phone with a whole lot of text messages, the calls weren’t noticeable because Rosalyn had placed it on silence intentionally. Now, she understood what Jaylen was trying so hard to avoid.
Rosalyn had no idea Adriel was this clingy. Every time it’s almost like she would do anything to be next to Jaylen and that includes bombarding her with calls to know his whereabout.
Since the day they had both had a drink together, Rosalyn has been doing her very best to ignore Adriel. However, it never seems to work since she was always showing up at the office. Jaylen had clearly not told her of his trip, which could justify the reason behind her constant calling to find out where he was since she obviously would have checked the office and discover they aren’t around.
Rosalyn rolled her eyes. She picked the call as it came in again just in time. ‘Hey Adriel.’ She blurted a bit too loudly.
‘Rosa, how are you doing?’ Adriel voiced from the receiver.
‘I am very good. Thank you. I saw your messages. Is everything okay with you?’
‘This isn’t really about me. Well, I am sitting at the reception after finding out you both aren’t around. Where are you? When would you be back?’
Rosalyn almost cursed out loudly but she let out a awkward chuckle. ‘I am on a business trip I guess.’
‘You don’t sound too sure. Did Jaylen go to visit his home town? I heard him discussing it on phone with someone named Rex.’ Adriel sounded excited.
‘Are you eavesdropping on his conversations?’ Rosalyn was getting angry now.
‘Oh no no, I just happen to walk in on him. That’s all. Why would I do that?’ There was a bit of an edge in her laughter.
Rosalyn scoffed at her hypo-critic attitude. ‘I wouldn’t know for sure where he is headed after. I don’t know of all his schedules. He is a grown adult and can handle himself.’
‘Yeah, you are right. Also I have been trying to call him, but he isn’t picking up my calls.’
‘He might be busy. He would definitely get back to you later.’
‘Alright, bye. Take-‘
Not letting her finish, Rosalyn tapped on her phone angrily to hang up but unknowingly to her, she mistakenly put on her location.
Sebastian watched in amusement at the way the lady stuck her feet in the grass and she kicked at it angrily. She didn’t even notice when the car had entered the compound. He had been surprised at the luxurious car parked in front of the house and seeing a total stranger was more shocking to him.
Sebastian walked close to her. “Is there something I can do for you ma’am?”
Rosalyn stared up to get the direction of the voice. Her heart almost stopped at the sight of the man in front of her. Rex was admirably handsome but the one in front of her has a unique feature that made him look like a demigod and the shape of his lips almost made her drool.
“Are you alright?” He asked again when she looked lost in thought.
Calling herself back to order, Rosalyn cleared her throat consistently before shyly looking up at him. “Hi… sorry…everything is fine…but I just got lost for a moment there.”
“It’s all good. I am just surprised to see someone entirely different from my family member here. Are you the owner of the limo?”
“Oh that, yes I came with it but it’s not mine. It’s for Jaylen.”
“Jaylen? Jaylen is here?” His eyes widened in shock.
“Yes, he is inside.” She answered.
“Wow.” Sebastian gasped in excitement as he made an attempt to head inside but he remembered his manners. “Please, I am really sorry. Let’s walk in together. I didn’t catch your name. I am Sebastian.”
“Rosalyn. Nice to meet you.”
“Oh, you must be the infamous Rosalyn.”
She blushed profusely. “I see Jaylen has you all learning about my history.”
“He talks about you nonstop.”
“I can trust him to do that always.” She giggled.
“I know this doesn’t seem appropriate but before I get too excited, why is Jaylen here?”
Rosalyn nodded. “It is fine. He is here now, back home to finally do what is right.”
All of a sudden, Sebastian punched at the air in happiness. “Yes! finally! Thanks Rosalyn. And I must say, the part Jaylen forgot to tell us is that you are extremely beautiful.” He commented.
Rosalyn blushed harder again. Rosalyn pulled at her check because she might need remain tightlipped at this point with the constant rise of her cheeks. “That’s so sweet of you.”
“Maybe we could meet up later, that’s if you don’t mind.” Sebastian bit down on his lips, hoping he doesn’t get turned down. It was rare for him to ask a lady out.
“I don’t mind. I might use that as a chance to get to know the Fortress more.” She responded.
“I get that. And I would love to be at your service.” Sebastian bowed playfully. “Let’s go in.”
The both of them entered to find Hazel and Julius fussing over a tired looking Jaylen.
“I was about losing my mind thinking you would never return.” Hazel mumbled as she ran her hands all over Jaylen’s face and through his hair.
“Give him some breathing space would you.” Sebastian said, causing them to stop their harassment on Jaylen.
“Sebastian!” Jaylen called out like it had been a whole year since he last saw him.
“My man!” Sebastian opened his arms wide to hug him. The both of them held each other and pat their backs continuously. “I almost thought you would never return.”
Jaylen laughed loudly. “I almost thought so too.”
They all settled down to talk, munching on cookies and a glass of juice each. Julius was about to say something when he paused half way with his eyes staying glued to the doorway.
“Hey honey. You are home.” He said at a blank looking Lorelei.
