EPISODE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN
THEME: The Goddess Messenger
MOON STONE GROUP
“Can this day get any worse?” Jaylen blurted. He sounded frustrated.
“What’s going on?” Rosalyn asked with her face scrunched up in worry.
Jaylen didn’t get to answer her question before Rex walked in, looking all graceful in the outfit that revealed his chiseled body and sharp jawline. Rosalyn’s breath hitched at the hunk of a man in front of her.
“Who are you? Oh…no…perhaps have we met?” Rosalyn whispered seductively as she stood in front of Jaylen so Rex could get her proper view of her feature too.
“Get to your office, Rosalyn.” Jaylen placed his hands on her shoulder and pushed her to the door.
“Wait…not too soon…” She protested but Jaylen wasn’t listening until he shut the door on her face.
Rex watched Rosalyn with an amused look on his face. He had to admit that she looked pretty. When Rosalyn was eventually out of the office, his gaze observed the whole room and he ended up shaking his head at how neatly prepped it was.
“I want to believe you didn’t come here to exchange pleasantries with me.” Jaylen said behind him.
Without giving him a response, Rex settled himself in a chair twirling around in it with his eyes searching that of Jaylen’s. He could clearly see the dark lines that were obvious under his eye bags. The Moon Goddess had sent him to Jaylen knowing he might be in some sort of trouble with himself.
Rex would have tried to stop Jaylen from leaving if it were up to him but the Moon Goddess had her own plans which was why he didn’t attempt to find him before now. Moon Stone Fortress was already feeling the impact of Jaylen not taking his rightful place as things were beginning to not make sense.
“Shouldn’t you at least say hello to your long lost friend? Don’t you miss me?” Rex teased him.
Jaylen didn’t look in the bit amused. As a matter of fact, he wanted Rex out of his office with immediate effect.
“Why are you here? I thought I made it clear to everyone at the Fortress that I want nothing to do with you all. Also, how did you find me?”
Rex let out a short chuckle. “How did I find you? Really? Have you forgotten your social status? You are quite the Golden Boy of Chicago so finding you is the least of any challenge.”
“I am really about to feel offended by your words.” Jaylen paused a bit thinking it through. “Now, I am really offended. It took me years to get to this position I am in at the moment. Don’t put it lightly like that or I would have you walked out of this office right now.”
“Easy man, I am not here to hassle you.” Rex mused.
Jaylen took a seat with a flustered look on his expression. “Why are you here again?” He asked.
“You need to return home, Jaylen. Moon Stone Fortress will be in a bigger mess without you in it.” Rex replied.
“Jayden is there to look after everyone. Moreover, he has been the one taking care of every of the Fortress matters before dad’s death. I know nothing about it.”
Rex raised a brow. “You and I both know that’s a silly excuse.”
“Whichever way you see it as, I am not coming nor leaving all of my years of hard work behind for just an Alpha position.” Jaylen affirmed.
“I will argue that with you. It is not just an Alpha position. It is your rightful place and every member of Moon Stone Fortress life is in your hands.” Rex countered.
“I am no messiah so don’t give me that bullshit!” Jaylen growled.
Rex could sense Jaylen’s anger mounting. He decided to relax himself and not get him pissed. “How have you been sleeping lately?” He inquired.
Jaylen shrugged. “Well.”
“That came out too fast. I will ask again, have you been having some sort of nightmares?”
“How would you know that?”
“Answer the question Jaylen. Yes or no.”
“Fine! Yes. So? What has that got to do with anything?”
“Have you forgotten your deal with being Clairvoyant? Whatever it is you are seeing now is what will become of the Fortress future and all those you love.” Rex said in a calm tone.
“When are you leaving, Rex?” Jaylen uttered with a dead look on his face.
Rex heaved a sigh as he stood up. He grabbed a sticky note and pen on the table and scribbled something down in it. “That’s the hotel address I lodged in. Let me know when you are ready to return home.”
Jaylen snatched the note off the table, squeezed it and tossed it in the trash can near him. “That’s where it would be.”
“You won’t find me right?” Rex chuckled when no response came from him. “Well I don’t doubt the Moon Goddess guidance. Jaylen Damien, son of Late Carl Damien, act whichever way you want now. But I promise that you will find me.” He had a serious look on his face as he said those words. He exited the office.
Jaylen bit on his knuckles as he cussed out loudly. Rosalyn entered few minutes after Rex left. She looked surprised.
“What just happened here?” She inquired.
“You don’t want to know half of it.” Jaylen replied.
“Oh, sorry to disappoint you. I would love to know all of it.” Rosalyn uttered dramatically. She pulled a chair for herself to sit in. “Now, do me a favor and relay to me all that has been going on with you. For someone all the way from the Fortress, looking as dashing as that young man to come find you, something huge must be up with you.”
Jaylen stared in shock. “Since when did you become so obsessed with men?”
“Since I set my eyes on that hunk.” She giggled like a child.
He rolled his eyes. “I really can’t deal with anything right now.”
“What’s wrong?” Rosalyn sat up, a serious look grazed her expression.
Jaylen rubbed at his forehead. “I am tired, Rosalyn. I thought it was all going to get better when I left everything behind but it seems to come back to haunt me. I have been having this scary nightmares of the Fortress burning down, my mom and Lorelei getting killed. These nightmares keep giving me sleepless nights. And here he comes, the protector of the Fortress asking me about the nightmares that I haven’t shared with anyone before now.”
Rosalyn gasped out. “How did he know about it? A stalker in sleeps? Maybe? No…is there even something like that?” She ranted.
He thinned his eyes at her. “You have been acting strange all morning. Are you drunk?”
“I am so sorry if that sounded off board.” Rosalyn apologized.
“He communicates well with the Moon Goddess. Or should I say, she communicates with him.” He explained.
“That’s interesting. I should visit your Fortress someday soon. So, what’s your plan?”
“No plan. I am not going anywhere. I won’t be pushed again like the last time. That’s enough.” Jaylen looked angry.
Rosalyn sighed as she reached out to his hand. “You don’t need to feel angry at that. But are you sure these nightmares don’t count?”
“They don’t mean anything, Rosa and that is the end of this discussion. Let’s get back to work please.”
“Alright.” Rosalyn shook her head obediently as she returned to the pile of files on the table.
