“I will do no such thing brother and I suggest you get used to this idea”, Lord Dimitri stated, leaving no room for argument as he walked out on his brother. He was very disappointed at his brother’s behavior, even the way he talked to him and reacted to things. He has been Allies with the werewolves for years and they have all stood together to help one another and he just came back and is trying to bring out things that will ruin everything they had built.
Meanwhile Charles was furious, he wasn’t going to let this continue, if he’s brother won’t go with what he said, then he would have to make what he wants to stand. How can his brother make allies with the werewolves, so absurd and stupid. He’s the Lord and leader of a Clan but keep making stupid decisions, maybe this Clan will be better off without him in it, if he doesn’t want to change and as I’m here, I might even be a better ruler, set something’s straight in this clan.
I’ll try to convince my brother again tomorrow and if he doesn’t accept this time, then I will have no choice but to take matters into my hands and handle the situation whether he agrees or not, Charles thought to himself as he freshened up and got ready to get some rest after a long journey and a feast.
Next morning>>>>>
The sun was shining brightly as the two vampire brothers, Lord Dimitri and Charles set out on their horses towards the countryside, Lord Dimitri hadn’t ridden his horse or any horse in a while. The birds chirped melodiously in the trees above them, and the gentle breeze carried the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers.
As they rode, they marveled at the beauty of the world around them. The lush green fields were dotted with colorful wildflowers, and the gentle rolling hills stretched out as far as the eye could see. The brothers took in the peacefulness of the countryside and felt invigorated by the fresh morning air.
As they reached the countryside, Lord Dimitri and Charles found themselves at the edge of a vast open field. It was the perfect place for a morning horseback ride. They dismounted from their horses and began to prepare them for the ride. They checked the saddle straps and made sure the reins were secure before climbing back up onto their horses. Then, with a gentle nudge of their heels, they urged their steeds forward.
At first, they trotted slowly along the edge of the field, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The horses’ hooves created a gentle rhythm that matched the beat of their hearts. As they rode deeper into the countryside, the brothers picked up the pace, their horses galloping freely across the open fields.
The wind whipped through their hair as they rode, and the brothers felt the exhilaration of the ride. They raced across the fields, jumping over fences and weaving through the trees. They laughed and whooped with joy as they rode, feeling free and alive.
As the sun rose higher in the sky, Lord Dimitri and Charles eventually slowed their horses to a stop, allowing them to rest and catch their breath. The brothers dismounted and took a moment to appreciate the beauty of the countryside. They felt rejuvenated and alive, grateful for the opportunity to experience the freedom of the ride.
With a smile on their faces, Lord Dimitri mounted their horses once again and made their way back towards the city. They knew that no matter what challenges they may face in the future, they could always return to the peacefulness of the countryside and the freedom of the ride.
On their way back, Charles brought up the topic about the werewolves not being allies but Lord Dimitri dismissed him, he didn’t want anything to spoil their good mood and what Charles wanted was not going to happen.
Charles kept quiet as he thought of what to do, then he had a plan. Since his brother won’t listen, he will have to make sure what he wants stands. They got back home, Lord Dimitri giving his brother a brotherly hug, noth even having a clue of what his brother might be thinking.
Whereas as Lord Dimitri went to get some work done, Charles headed to see the council of vampires and have a discussion with them.
The council gathered, giving him a listening ear as he aired out everything on his mind about them being allies with the werewolves, trying and convincing the council. He also urged that he would likely want to take the throne from his brother, since his brother is backsliding. The elders listened to him and then sent for Lord Dimitri to also hear what he had to say.
Lord Dimitri came into the room, confused on why he was called here and what was the problem, but then he spotted his brother and he hoped that why he was called wasn’t because of that stupid thing his brother keeps spitting out.
The council briefed him on why he was here and he was shocked to also here that his brother was in on his throne.
“How dare you?”, Lord Dimitri questioned his younger brother angrily, “and thinking that I’m happy to have you here and you go about betraying your family, your own brother”. Charles ignored him as he waited for the council decision. Lord Dimitri calmed down and explained to the council, after all thoughts there was to be a vote, to know who will be the leader and make the rules.
They all cast their vote except Lord Dimitri and Charles who stood and waited. Lord Dimitri was hurt by his brother’s betrayal and felt a burning anger. He was still trying to take in what his brother just did. And after the votes were done, it was time for the announcement.
One of the council, stood up to announce the score, “And according to the vote, there…..”.
