“Don’t worry you will meet them soon and be properly introduced”, Lord Dimitri told him as he patted Charles’ back.
After their conversation about Charles’ time in the military, Lord Dimitri suggested that both of them freshen up and dress up for the upcoming feast. His brother nodded in agreement, and Lord Dimitri retired to his room to prepare, leaving Charles to do so also.
Lord Dimitri took a quick shower and shaved before choosing a black velvet jacket with golden embroidery and a matching black silk shirt. He paired it with black trousers and polished black shoes. He ran his fingers through his long black hair, ensuring that it was sleek and tidy.
His brother emerged from his room soon after, looking just as dashing. He had taken a shower, shaved and wore a fitted navy blue suit with a white shirt and black tie. He looked as if he had stepped straight out of a fashion magazine. His military training had taught him how to dress sharp.
“Wow,” Lord Dimitri said with a chuckle. “You clean up nicely.”
His brother grinned. “Thanks. You look great too.”
Together they made their way down to the feast, which was already in full swing. The hall was decorated with banners and tapestries, and long tables were laden with all sorts of delicious foods and drinks.
As they made their way to their seats, Lord Dimitri’s brother couldn’t help but stare in awe at the splendor of the hall. He had been to many impressive places during his time in the military, but he had never seen anything quite like this.
The feast was a lavish affair, with entertainment provided by musicians and jesters. There was roast beef, mutton, and chicken, along with a variety of vegetables, bread, and cheeses. The wine flowed freely, and the guests were in high spirits.
Soon Marcellus, his mate, his parents/ family and few pack members arrived at the party.
As the werewolves arrived, Lord Dimitri greeted them warmly, embracing them as allies. The werewolves, too, were pleased to see Lord Dimitri, having formed a bond with him during their battles together against the common enemy.
As they approached, Lord Dimitri introduced them to his brother, who stood with a false smile on his face. The werewolves could sense something was off about him, as he seemed hesitant and guarded around them.
Lord Dimitri noticed the tension and attempted to diffuse the situation. “Brother, these are our allies. The werewolves have fought alongside us and helped us in our battle against the enemy. They are trustworthy and have proven their loyalty time and time again.”
His brother nodded politely, but his smile never reached his eyes. The werewolves exchanged glances, unsure of how to proceed, though they were on guard. Lord Dimitri’s brother was behaving a bit weird to them.
Lord Dimitri sensed the tension and coldness and stepped in to mediate. “Perhaps we should all sit down and discuss our next course of action. We have much to plan and the werewolves have valuable insights to offer.”
The group moved towards a large table in the center of the room, and Lord Dimitri motioned for the werewolves to take a seat. His brother hesitated for a moment before reluctantly joining them.
The discussion began, and Lord Dimitri made sure to include the werewolves in every decision. His brother, however, remained aloof and distant, clearly not wanting to engage with their new allies.
Despite his brother’s reluctance, Lord Dimitri knew that the werewolves were essential to their success. He made it clear that they were to be treated with the utmost respect and that their opinions would be valued.
Still, the night went on with everyone enjoying themselves, there was dance battles and other classic dance, food to enjoy and many interesting things to do.
The werewolves simply enjoyed themselves even though Lord Dimitri’s brother was not welcoming but they didn’t think much into it, maybe he was just not comfortable yet or something.
Lord Dimitri listened patiently to his younger brother’s concerns and arguments. He understood that his brother felt strongly about the werewolves and their place in their society. However, Lord Dimitri explained that things were not as simple as they seemed.
He told his brother that the werewolves were not just any ordinary creatures, but they possessed immense power and abilities that made them valuable allies. Lord Dimitri had made an alliance with them because they had a common enemy that threatened their lands and people.
The younger brother still did not agree, and he felt that the werewolves were a threat to their dominance and power. Lord Dimitri explained that it was not about dominating or oppressing others, but it was about finding a way to coexist and work together for a better future.
He told his brother that sometimes, alliances were necessary, even with those who may seem different or even opposing. It was about finding common ground and working towards a common goal.
“So this is how you run this clan?”, Charles asked his brother, disgust dripping from each words he said.
“Excuse me? What’s that supposed to mean?”, Lord Dimitri asked his brother in disbelief.
“Well firstly your doing a bad job, having werewolves as allies? We are supposed to rule over them, make them fear us, not be friends Dimitri”, Charles explained raising his voice at his brother.
“You will watch your tone with me Charles, you are still my younger brother and you won’t come here and tell me how to run my clan”, Lord Dimitri warned coldly.
“Well I can, your my brother and if you can’t see what I’m seeing it have to make you”, Charles pressed on.
“And how do you intend to do that, because the werewolves will remain allies with us and I don’t want you saying otherwise “, Lord Dimitri said to his brother.
Charles snarled at his brother, finding everything awfully annoying, “I disagree brother and I want you to end that agreement with the werewolves tomorrow. I know what’s best for us and I need you to promise me that you will, for me, will you brother?”.
