As the moments passed, Lord Dimitri and his brother spent their time catching up on lost years. Charles went on to tell his brother about something’s that happened in his life.
“I was just a boy when I joined the military,” he began, his voice low and measured. “I was restless, searching for a sense of purpose in my life. I wanted to prove myself, to show that I was strong and capable.”
Lord Dimitri listened intently as his brother spoke. He could see the pain and determination etched on his brother’s face.
“At first, it was tough,” his brother continued. “The training was grueling, and the soldiers were harsh. But I stuck with it, and I eventually earned their respect.”
He paused, taking a deep breath. “And then, we were deployed to the front lines. The first battle was terrifying. The noise, the chaos, the bloodshed… it was overwhelming. But I fought on, relying on my training and my instincts to survive.”
Lord Dimitri could feel his heart breaking as his brother spoke. He knew that war was a brutal and unforgiving business, and he couldn’t imagine the horrors his brother had witnessed.
“In the years that followed, I fought in many battles,” his brother continued. “Some we won, and others we lost. I watched as my friends and comrades fell, and I felt the weight of their loss. But I never gave up. I kept fighting, kept pushing forward, because I knew that I had a duty to fulfill.”
Lord Dimitri felt a sense of awe and admiration for his brother. He had always known that his brother was brave and strong, but hearing about his experiences firsthand was humbling.
“Despite everything, I never lost sight of who I was,” his brother said, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. “I held onto the memories of our family, of our childhood together. And that’s what kept me going.”
Lord Dimitri could see the truth in his brother’s words. Their family had always been a source of strength and love for both of them, and he was glad to know that his brother had held onto that during his darkest hours.
As the evening wore on, Lord Dimitri and his brother shared more stories, laughing and reminiscing. Lord Dimitri couldn’t help but feel grateful for the time they had together, and he knew that he would cherish these memories for the rest of his life
Lord Dimitri’s brother continued to recount his time in the military, and Lord Dimitri listened with rapt attention. He was amazed by the level of dedication and training required to become a soldier.
“I remember the training like it was yesterday,” his brother said, a wistful look in his eyes. “The early morning runs, the push-ups, the obstacle courses… it was grueling, but it prepared us for the battles to come.”
He went on to describe the rigorous physical and mental training required to become a soldier. They were taught combat techniques, survival skills, and how to operate weapons with deadly accuracy. They were trained to work as a team, to trust and rely on each other, even in the most dire of circumstances.
“I learned a lot about myself during my time in the military,” his brother said, his voice tinged with emotion. “I learned that I was capable of much more than I ever thought possible. I learned that courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to push through it. And I learned that the bonds of brotherhood are stronger than anything else in this world.”
Lord Dimitri nodded in agreement. He had always believed in the importance of brotherhood, and he was glad to see that his brother had found it in the military.
Lord Dimitri’s brother, Charles went on to describe his love life during his time in the military. He admitted that he had had flings here and there, but he had never really fallen in love.
“I was always so focused on my duty as a soldier,” he explained. “There was always another battle to fight, another mission to complete. I didn’t have the time or the energy for anything more.”
Lord Dimitri nodded sympathetically. He understood the demands of military life and the toll it could take on personal relationships.
“But there was one woman,” his brother continued, a wistful smile on his face. “She was a nurse in one of the field hospitals. We met during a particularly brutal battle, and she saved my life. We became fast friends, and I found myself drawn to her.”
Lord Dimitri leaned forward, his interest piqued. “What happened?” he asked eagerly.
His brother’s smile faded. “She was killed in the line of duty,” he said quietly. “It was a devastating loss, and it made me realize how fragile life can be.”
Lord Dimitri felt a pang of sympathy for his brother. He knew firsthand how painful it could be to lose someone you loved.
“But even though I never had a true love of my own, I saw the way that love could transform others,” his brother continued. “I saw soldiers who were transformed by the love of their families and friends, who found the strength to keep fighting even when all seemed lost.”
Lord Dimitri nodded in agreement. Love could be a powerful force, one that could give even the weakest person the strength to keep going.
Lord Dimitri had helped his brother to unpack and arrange as they had some time to himself. His brother was back because, his time at the military was up and she had served very well.
For the grand feast, Lord Dimitri had invited the werewolves to join him in celebrating his brother return and they agreed to come on time and so he informed his brother, ” I invited some guests too, my allies and they will be here soon, you will be introduced to them”.
Charles asked his brother as he listened to him, “Allies? Who are they?”.
