Lily did not leave Alpha Jax’s door immediately Benjamin left. She stood there for some time. And after a while, she began pacing around the door. She wish she could hear what Alpha Jax is doing inside. Even though he is her younger brother, he holds a higher rank in the society and can do anything to her. So she knows it’s best to listen to him.
If she starts disobeying him, others would start doing so too. And the chance of a rebel against him will increase. Lily waited for the guards to come before she leaves. That way, she will feel more at ease about her brother’s safety. Then he would have to do the healing process herself. She kept pacing around. She saw a girl coming towards her. She wondered who it is. Lily knows the girl is a sex slave but she does not know who exactly. The girl’s face became clearer and yet Lily does not know who she is.
“Good afternoon, Lady Lily,” the sex slave bowed.
“Afternoon,” Lily replied her greetings sharply.
“Is Alpha Jax inside?” She asked.
“Why are you asking?”
“Well, the thing is it’s my turn to warm his bed tonight. I told Benjamin already but I don’t think he told him,” the girl said.
“How are you so sure?”
“I saw Benjamin run down the stairs towards the fields. If he had told him about me, Benjamin would have been in my room dressing me up,” the girl said. Lily sighed and hissed. She bit her lips. Turned away from the girl and walked around for some time.
“Okay, what’s your name?”
“I am May,” she smiled.
“Now May, I am telling you this as the daughter of the former Alpha and the sister of the current Alpha. I command you by the royal blood and the authority in me. You should leave and never come back to this pack!” Lily cursed her. May shivered. A cold sensation ran through her spine. She turned and began working.
“Oh God! What have I done? I should not have done that to her,” Lily regretted the curse she just placed on May. But the May seems like an annoying person to her. Lily is not in her right state of mind. She just came back from a pilgrimage today only to see her brother dying, and a sex slave still wants him. Lily saw the guards coming with spears.
“Oh goodness!” She sighed. Both guards saluted her.
“My Lady,” the elder guard greeted.
“Oh thank goodness. Please I need you guys to protect him at all cost. No one should come in here please. Not until he gives the order for it, okay?” Lily said.
“Yes Milady,” both of them saluted again. Lily paced around for some while. She wondered what it was that made her brother that weak. It cannot be just wolfsbane. Either he has been bewitched or there is some thing he is doing wrong. Could it be the drink he takes a lot and hide from her?
“What could be in that bottle?” She asked herself. She thought of the possibilities of what will happen if Alpha Jax should die. Or if he should get really weak. Rebellion will arise, and in the midst of that rebellion, other Alphas might begin fighting over them. Lily tried calming herself. But it’s not working.
Lily wished their mother is around. She would have a better idea of what to do. Lily feels lost and lonely. She wonders what she could do. Ava cane to her head.
“Yes! Ava, the only sane person around here,” she said.
“Please keep guarding. Your feeding will come in due time. I have to leave,” Lily promised. She didn’t hear whatever salute both men gave. She hurried down the stairs towards Ava’s room. She looked around and could see all other sex slaves. She wish she can order them all to leave. The thought of her early confrontation with Ava came fresh to her. She thank the goddess she had not ordered Ava to leave then. Else now, she might have no one to talk to.
She knock on Ava’s door. There was no response. She doesn’t like that. She knocked one more time. Ava opened the door wide open.
“My lady?”
“Ava. How are you?” Lily asked. She rushed inside and sat on Ava’s bed.
“I am fine,” Ava replied. She wondered what’s wrong with Lily.
“Are you alright? You look bothered,” Ava said. Lily nodded. Ava dropped the pile of cloth on the bed, and she sat beside Lily.
“You are never like this. I mean, I have never seen you this sober. What’s wrong?” Ava asked again.
“It’s nothing,” Lily replied.
“Okay? But why are you…”
“It’s Alpha Jax. It’s Jax. I- I don’t know what is wrong with him. You know I told you I haven’t seen him since morning,” Lilu reminded Ava.
“Yeah! When you came back, you said you couldn’t find him in his room,”
“I don’t know what he went to do at the county hotel, but he killed a werewolf in the hotel,” Lily narrated.
“Killed a werewolf?” Ava exclaimed.
“How did it happen?” Ava asked.
“See, I don’t know much about how it happened. But he said the werewolf is a member of the rogue pack, and the werewolf instigated hatred against him. He lost his cool and killed him,”
“Oh my Goddess,” Ava cried. Her heart began beating rapidly.
“Where is he now?” Ava asked.
“They took him and put him before the court. They poured wolfsbane and mistletoe on him,” Lily continued narrating without answering Ava’s question.
“For some reasons, he was vindicated, but the aftermath of the wolfsbane has not left him. He is in his room weak and near death. Worst thing is he aske that no one should come close to him,” Lily said.
“That bastard!” She cursed.
“But will he be fine?”
“That I don’t know and I can’t say for sure,” Lily replied. Ava rushed to the toilet.
