“I know you are a bit surprise that I know about your deals with Lady Arath,” Fey broke the silence after she told Alpha Jax her knowledge of what Alpha Jax and the former witch had done. Alpha Jax did not say anything.
“I am not going to blackmail you by saying the families of the werewolves you sacrificed for her to get you the wolfsbane potion will know about it, neither am I going to reveal your secret, rather I will propose a better deal to you, and we both win,” Fey smiled. Alpha Jax looks lost and kept staring at her. His lips dry, and his eyes following her lips wherever it went.
“Do you have any questions?” Lady Fey asked Alpha Jax. He did not respond. She waved her hands and a portal appeared right above Alpha Jax. Cold water poured on him. He jerked back to life. He gasped and shivered. She blew at him. A warm breeze touched him. He inhaled deeply and exhaled. His clothes became dry, and he could no longer feel the cold water pricking his skin. He feels refreshed and alive.
She had just brought him back from a conversation with Rama. Lady Fey just told Alpha Jax that she knows his secret. She told him she knows that he gave up fifty werewolves to Lady Arath, in exchange for a potion that would prevent him from falling in love with any woman. And to make things worse, Lady Fey killed Arath, who was supposed to be her best friend, so she could have the souls of fifty werewolves formed together to strengthen her magic.
“Why did you kill Arath?” Alpha Jax asked.
“You see for humans, she might be evil considering the fact that she killed fifty werewolves, but to us witches, she is a miss goody two shoes.”
“How?”
“Well, the reason she wanted these powers is to do the opposite of what you needed her for. She wanted to save her dying husband. She trusted me to be with her. She wanted me to kill her immediately after she saves her husband,” Fey said.
“Kill her? What would be the use of saving him at the expense of her own life?”
“Well, not kill her exactly, but to kill the witch of the void, and then she will resurrect as a human without powers, but I killed them both. Quite ironic, wouldn’t you agree?” Lady Fey laughed at Alpha Jax.
“Yes, it is,” he replied.
“What do you need from me exactly?” He asked her. Furious at how powerless he feels with her. He knew if he release Rama, she would be of no match, but now is now the time to release Rama. With the wolfsbane he has been taking, Rama is the most vulnerable for now.
“It’s a win-win situation,” she said. He seats upfront and looked towards her.
“What is it?”
“I need you to get me two Alphas, you see my magic is only as strong as the wills of these werewolves souls. But with two Alphas, I should not tell you what I will be able to do,” she said.
“Why not use me? Why not kill me uhn? And there is another Alpha in the building? There are currently three Alpha, why not use us?”
“I want to. Right now, I even feel like strangling you and make you scream till I suck out your soul, but I can’t have other Alphas after me. If you get me those Alphas, well other werewolf Alphas won’t come after me. After all, in your world, it’s tradition for one wolf to kill another eh? So you see reason in what I said don’t you?” She relaxed her back on her chair. She rock it forth and back. She nodded her head and smile at Alpha Jax.
“Oh! and in return, I will give you a better form of the wolfsbane you love so much. I will give it to you right away, if you agree to my terms,” Lady Fey said.
Alpha Jax looked around the room. He thought of how she is going to conjure one up immediately. Or maybe it would be just with a wave of her hand. Well, it does not matter to him as long as he gets what he wants. And for the Alpha issue, it’s not going to be a problem for him. But he wonder how long it would last. How long she is going to request that he keeps bring werewolves. And he wonder when she would become so powerful that she will begin hunting werewolves herself. Or when she will deem him useless.
A witch becoming this strong is something he would frown at. Hi dad was among those who drove most of the witch away. But here he is making another witch strong.
“I accept,” Alpha Jax said.
“You what?”
“I will get you the Alphas, not now. So I will get you your Alphas and you keep giving me the potion yeah?”
“Oh my goodness! I could not have said it any simpler,” the witch gasped and feigned surprise. Her gestures annoy Alpha Jax. He looked at her with hatred, anger, disgust and every other emotion he could conjure. He wish to kill her right away, but that he dare not do.
She closed her eyes and inhaled. She began chanting some words. They were incoherent to Alpha Jax. He saw portals opening and things flying from one portal to another. Little portals. Not big enough for Alpha Jax’s head to fit in. And finally, a bottle popped out of the biggest portal. It float towards Alpha Jax.
“There it is. There is what you requested for. Your little drug,” she smiled at him. He collected it. He looked at her for fee minutes and he stood up to leave.
“No! You don’t do things that way. This is way stronger than what Arath gave you. It’s better You dilute a teaspoon with a cup of water. Then you can keep it in little bottles like you use to. Take it raw and you become too energetic and when it fades, you become too weak,” she advised him.
“Also, you should shake hands for a deal well done,” she said. Alpha Jax look at her extended hand. He walked up to her and shook her hand.
“I will let you know when I need the Alphas. Enjoy your loveless adventure,” she withdrew her hand. Nodded, and Alpha Jax found himself right in the corridor. He looked around but there was no one. He didn’t bother looking back at the room he just left. He walked towards his room knowing he is fully done for, beyond saving.
