“How is that possible?” Alpha Jax bit his lip on his bed. He looked onto the sky. He regrets his action. He should have calmed down and not act like he did. He knew if he had not been an Alpha, they would have killed him too. But they had to be bias in their judgement. Also, his reputation among the people in the hotel is worsened. He is the kind people fear. And now they are terrified of him. He knows he would have to do extra ordinary things to win back the trust of the people in the hotel.
But all these are not his major concerns. There are only two things that are important to him. And those two things could ruin his mental and physical health. First was the reason he came to the hotel in the first place. To get his drug. Or whatever it was that he has been drinking to prevent himself from falling in love. The cold potion that had turned him cold. The potion that controls his emotions and physical strength. His wolfsbane potion.
And the second was the thought that for some moment, he appears vulnerable to Shane Moss. Shane Moss had seen him. He could tear him apart, but he took pity in him. Shane Moss had let him go. Alpha Jax felt it was a flex on Shane Moss part. Something that shows that he could have killed him if he wanted.
Alpha Jax keeps pinching the bed and at random times, will hiss. His regrets and shame knows no bound. But he is also the sort of person who would look for solution to things. He does not like to dwell on things that makes him feel bad. He would have to look for immediate action to make himself not feel vulnerable around the hotel. Both to Shane Moss attack or protests or violent acts from the rogue pack.
Shane Moss sat upright on the hotel bed. He remembered the last time he was here. It was here that he first heard about Shane Moss. He stood up and walked to the cupboard. He opened it. It is empty. He pressed a button and a device came out if. He placed his thumb on a needle like object by the side. It stung him. He winced. A paper roll out of it, and he placed the machine back behind the cupboard. He picked the paper and read the content.
“Damn Witch!” He frowned.
He knocked on the door with 229 written on it. That’s the number written on the paper. He knocked again and there was no reply. He waited for some moments before he knocked violently. He bang on the door. It caught the attention of people in other rooms. Some people came out to check what it was. They saw Alpha Jax, and they all retreated immediately.
He knocked one more time, and the door open before he could place another knock on the door. He saw a short man looking weird.
“Who are you?” He asked in anger. He picked the man up and placed him on the wall.
“My lord, I am… I am Lady Arath’s assistant,” he shivered.
“And why did it take you that long to answer the door, uhn?” Alpha Jax growled at him. The assistant could barely talk. He looked at Alpha Jax and removed his eyes immediately. Alpha Jax could hear the assistant’s heart beating rapidly. The assistant point towards the wall and Alpha Jax saw a cardboard on the wall. There were some instructions written on it.
“Four violent knocks on the door is when you have an invitation from an Alpha. If not, never open the door for any werewolf. Other werewolves would knock on the door till the fourth time before they become violent,” the text on the cardboard read.
“What’s that suppose to mean?” Alpha Jax ask.
“It was lady Arath writing,” the assistant shiver.
“Where is she?” He puts her down.
“She is not around. She went on a journey,” the assistant replied. He moved around the room and picked pieces of things that Alpha Jax ruined.
“What journey?”
“She received a prophecy about a werewolf Alpha. And she went to search for the meaning. The prophecy would serve as a doom for the Alpha if not prevented. It would bring power imbalance,” the assistant said. Alpha Jax wonder if the assistant was supposed to tell her that.
“Do you know who I am?”
“Oh! You are Alpha Jax,” the assistant said. He already arranged the rough room. Alpha Jax walked weakly to the bed and sat on it.
“Then you must know what I am here for, or did she not tell you?”
“She asked that if you come, I should direct you to Lady Fey’s room. She is a good associate,” the assistant said. He turned around and smiled at Alpha Jax.
“Where is her room?” Alpha Jax asked.
“Room 210,” the assistant replied. Alpha Jax cursed Lady Arath. Why does she have to bounce him around. She could have just directed him to where he was supposed to meet her.
He left the room. He looked around and counted the rooms. He moved back to room 210. He saw the text written on the door. It’s a bit different from others. He proceeded to knock.
“You better answer me after the first knock!” He prayed before extending his hand to the door. He knocked and immediately he met himself inside. He looked around. He saw a woman sitting on a chair, looking deep into his eyes.
“Who are you?” Alpha Jax said. The shock of how he got inside without the door being opened still amaze him. She point towards the chair. He sat on it.
“Okay, I will be the one asking the questions here. And not you!” She said calmly.
“How dare you!” Alpha Jax growled and moved to grab her neck. She smiled. She waved her hand and out of the thin hair, powdered wolfsbane blew into his face. He went down immediately. He fainted.
