Chapter 68

Book:Alpha's Puppet  Published:2024-5-31

Alpha Jax is bounded to the walls of a large room with silver chains. They created a barrier for him using mistletoes and Wolfsbane. Alpha Jax noticed the smell of his vomit to be similar to that of one of the things used in tying him down.
He was knocked out before and by the time he came to being, he saw two humans, a witch and Alpha Shane Moss.
“Alpha Jax! You are supposed to be the other Alpha residing on the judgement of issues concerning the league, but it’s unfortunate you are tied down and we are judging you. That’s why we called for the Alpha of the Night-wolf pack. And Alpha of the Ritter’s pack,” a human said.
Alpha Jax did not reply. He ignored the human. He kept his eyes on Shane Moss. Shane Moss smiled at him and waved. Shane Moss rested his hand on the chair he sits on. Alpha of the Ritter’s pack came in. It’s the same old man who was Alpha Jax’s friend. Alpha Jax bow to him.
“Oh Jax boy! What happened? Why did you do that?” His father’s friend Alpha Mac asked him. The man showed his regret in the situation Alpha Jax is in.
“He was blasphemous and has committed treason!” Alpha Jax replied weakly.
“Alpha Jax!” Shane Moss cleared his throat. “You should know that if we discover you to be in the wrong. We will have to behead you in public. In front of members of your pack! And there will be a contest for who will be the new Alpha of your pack. But before the contest, by right, I am going to be your regent,” Shane Moss said. A
“Why do you seem so eager about his death!” Alpha Mac asked Shane.
“I am not eager! I thought we needed to let him know what would happen if he should be found guilty!” Shane Moss replied.
“Now! Alpha Jax, we have listened to witnesses speak about what happened. Now whatever you say will determine what judgement to give you,” the elder human said.
Alpha Jax does not know what reply to give. He is more concerned about the nauseating feeling he is getting from one of the elements used in tying him down gave.
Shane Moss heard the celestial call to the intercontinental hotel. It was his second time of receiving the call. The first time was when the elder human congratulated him. He had never gotten to meet the elder human. There were myths going around that the elder human had used the blood of a hundred young werewolves to stay alive as long as he did. The next human who was to take his position is still learning all there is to be learnt about the werewolves existence, and how to relate and keep the peace the humans fought for.
When Shane received the call, he had no one to call. He could not call Omarr, Zeeb and the others. They felt betrayed by him. He understands. He had promised not to ever use the Alpha’s will on them but he went against his own promise. He was not told who was to be judged till he got to the hotel. He heard rumours and people murmuring. Those who were leaving and left and some more people came in. Right outside, a sort of mob has began mobilising. They were actively requesting for the death of Alpha Jax. He realised they were members of the Rogue Pack. He avoided them and went inside.
I side, he saw Alpha Jax tied down like a prisoner. There was the urge to rush him and tear him into pieces. There was the urge to weaken Alpha Jax and take him to his pack. There, he would rape his sister, his mother and anyone who Alpha Jax holds dear. Then he would let him watch as he kill them. Let him watch as he ascend his throne. But Shane Moss calmed himself. If he should kill Alpha Jax, he would also be killed by officials of the league. And that might lead to war between his pack and Alpha Jax’s pack. A war that would be fought years after both of them death.
Shane Moss convinced himself that all he has to do is help Alpha Jax get released from the prison. Nothing should go wrong with him. And that way, he could introduce himself to him. And let him know that he is coming after everything he owns. But it will be in a no man’s land.
Shane Moss and the others listened to Alpha Jax’s statement of defense.
“My Alpha, Elder humans and your ladyship, if I may, we cannot entirely blame him. His narration tally with that of the witnesses, and that’s a proof that we should let him be,” Shane Moss defended him.
“With proof that you did not kill him out of contempt but he was provoking you…”
“You know that’s why I said we should do something about these rogue pack,” Alpha Mac said.
“You people said nothing. And now see they made us all embarrassed the son of my my friend! Come here Jax, sorry for this nonsense,” Alpha Mac walked with his stick to Jax. He pressed a button far from Alpha Jax. The chains retracted immediately, and the mistletoe and Wolfsbane went down.
Alpha Jax, weakened fell face down. Shane rushed to him and grabbed him.
“Thanks,”
“Oh you are welcome!” Shane Moss replied.
“Anything for a old friend. Where should I take you so you could heal?” Shane Moss asked. He noticed Alpha Jax did not know it was him who was helping him.
“Take me to room 313,” Alpha Jax whispered with his head and down and a ragged breathing.
“Alright,” Shane Moss replied.
