Chapter 288 A Young Girl

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

St. Sunday.
At this time, the South Land army had not yet reached this city, and everything was still fine. However, the city was already filled with an atmosphere of war, as the South Land people were coming.
On a train bound for St. Sunday.
There were a few dozen sparse passengers.
“Girl, there are not many people going to St. Sunday now; everyone is fleeing from there. Why are you still going to St. Sunday?” Robin asked, looking at a young girl sitting across from him.
She was about seventeen or eighteen years old, dressed in simple clothes with many patches, and had her hair in a braid. She looked like a country girl, but her eyes were watery and innocent, making her somewhat cute and pure.
“My grandmother is still in St. Sunday. I’m going to pick her up. Besides, we can’t escape from South Border now. Of the eighteen roads leading north, the Harding family has blocked seventeen, not allowing passage. The only remaining road, Stillwater, is already overcrowded. Moreover, South Border may not be a dead end now. Primus has arrived, and we can win,” the young girl said, her eyes seemingly shining with light.
“Yes, we can win.” Robin smiled faintly.
At the same time, a fierce light flashed in his eyes.
Even if it was just for people like this young girl, he had to drive the South Land people out of their territory. Their territory was not a place for these people to step on.
However, Robin noticed that the young girl had a tightly held cloth bag in her hand.
“What’s your name, girl?” Robin asked.
“Rosey Chambers.” The young girl looked up shyly.
“Rosey Chambers, nice name.” Robin nodded.
At this moment, there were screams coming from another carriage.
“Help, help!” The people looked over and saw a couple in the carriage, a man with a beer belly looking somewhat imposing, and a woman dressed luxuriously.
Both were anxiously watching a young boy lying on the ground.
“Is there a doctor? Please come and check my child,” the woman cried.
It was evident that it was her son.
“I’ll take a look.” Robin walked over and found that the boy had a myocardial infarction. He immediately pressed some acupoints on the boy’s body.
The boy’s originally rigid face gradually relaxed.
However, at this moment, a young man walked in and looked at Robin, his face changing, “What are you doing? This is a myocardial infarction, and you’re pressing acupoints?”
“Yep.” Robin continued pressing.
However, the young man pushed Robin away, stopping his actions. Then he said to the parents, “This man doesn’t know medicine. He’s just messing around.”
“Who are you?” The parents looked at the young man.
“My name is Eliott Garner. I’m a doctor. This man is just causing trouble and endangering the child’s life,” Eliott Garner slandered Robin, making it seem as if Robin had come to harm and take advantage of the situation.
Whether Robin’s approach was correct or not, he didn’t know. He only knew that the boy’s father looked rich and powerful.
As long as he could please this man, his life would be comfortable.
So, he had to drive Robin away, which was why he said so many bad things about him.
“You… how dare you target my son?” The boy’s father, with his beer belly, listened to Eliott Garner and believed him, as he seemed like a talented medical student who wouldn’t lie. He glared at Robin, his face full of anger.
Robin frowned.
“Are you a doctor?” Eliott Garner asked again.
“No.”
“Are you from a medical family?”
“No.”
“Did you learn it anywhere?”
“Not really, I learned a few things from an old man.”
Robin replied indifferently.
Once, he had led soldiers into an ambush and was severely injured. He was washed away by the river and saved by an old man downstream, who taught him some things about medicine. Although they were not extremely refined, they were sufficient to treat most injuries. Moreover, Robin was a warrior.
“Heh, did you hear that?” Eliott Garner sneered. “This man learned a few tricks from an old man, and now he wants to save your son. How ridiculous! I think he’s just trying to swindle you out of your money.”
“You!” The beer-bellied man, furious, grabbed something from the side and swung it at Robin. “Get out of here, you fraud! Don’t let me see you again! How dare you try to swindle me!”
“Stay away from us, you scammer,” the middle-aged woman also said, hands on her hips, glaring at Robin.
Both of them were trying to drive Robin away.
“Are you sure?” Robin asked, still holding the little boy, his dark eyes fixed on the couple.
The response was only one word. “Go.”
Robin put down the boy, glanced at Eliott Garner, and said, “Suit yourself. He has three minutes left.” Then he left the carriage and returned to his own.
In Robin’s carriage, the little girl named Rosey Chambers timidly looked over and whispered, “I actually think you’re a good person. They just don’t recognize you.”
“A good person? Is that so?” Robin said with a slight smile, then gestured for her to sit down and began to rest.
Jeff Reczek glanced at the scene and looked away. They were just all blind to the truth.
On the other side, after Robin left, Eliott Garner stepped up with professional medical equipment. As a real-deal doctor, he believed he could cure the young boy’s illness, and in doing so, make the wealthy middle-aged couple indebted to him.
However, when he examined the boy closely, he was taken aback because the boy’s heart attack was even more severe than he had imagined.
One minute passed.
Eliott Garner tried various methods to save the boy, but as the minute went by, the boy showed no signs of waking up. His face turned increasingly blue, and he looked more and more uncomfortable.
“Doctor, how is he?”
The middle-aged couple asked anxiously.
“He’ll wake up soon,” Eliott Garner replied, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead. He hadn’t expected the situation to be so serious. He tried again, using all his skills, but another minute passed, and he failed. The boy’s face had turned an alarming shade of blue.
“Doctor!” The middle-aged couple grew more anxious.
“It’s all because of that fraud just now, messing with the boy’s acupoints and causing this condition. We have to get him to the hospital now, or else…” Eliott Garner promptly shifted the blame onto Robin.
He insisted that it was Robin’s doing.
