Chapter 267: Fierce Tiger

“Yes, yes, yes,” Smith hurriedly rolled away and left.
This was Mr. X’s territory, where so many people had died before. It was a haunted house, haunted! He was terrified.
Lacey Willis, who was applying ointment to her face, turned her head and asked, “Aren’t there the Conwyn family as well? You said you were going to destroy the three top families of Stillwater, but now there are only two.”
“There’s one more, I’ll talk to them personally,” Robin replied with his hands behind his back.
“Oh,” Lacey Willis didn’t know why Bradley Conwyn had the honor of having Robin speak to him personally.
Soon, the Wolfman Guards were dispatched, and the bodies were taken care of. Eleanor Manor returned to peace once more. However, Robin didn’t go upstairs but instead took out two wine glasses, poured some red wine, and said quietly to the surroundings, “You’re all here, why not come out for a drink?”
There was silence, and the entire hall remained quiet.
“Bradley Conwyn, I’ve found you. Come out,” Robin said.
But there was only silence.
Robin stood with his hands behind his back, shaking his head. “Bradley Conwyn, they say you’re quite a character. Today, I can see why – you’re calm in the face of danger. But I really have found you. The third cabinet up there, you came in disguised as a water carrier. It’s time to come out.”
With a clang, the third cabinet opened, and a shocked man jumped out. “How… how did you find me?”
His face changed dramatically.
It was Bradley Conwyn.
If Robin had been bluffing before, Bradley would have believed it, because he had often done such things himself – a casual bluff, after all, there was nothing to lose. But when Robin mentioned the third cabinet, he knew he was truly exposed.
He hadn’t told anyone about his plan today, not even Constance Brighton or Walter Wraith.
Because today, he was going solo.
People called him the evil tiger of Stillwater, and it wasn’t a joke. Bradley Conwyn had built up his empire single-handedly, and he was no ordinary man.
Initially scared by Robin, he decided to play along.
Yes.
Play along.
He pretended to be terrified by Mr. X, a fearsome tiger of Stillwater reduced to a sickly cat. This scene was both amusing and served to make people overlook his threat. After all, he was indeed an evil tiger.
He had kept his fangs hidden before, but today, he was ready to reveal them.
It was this solo operation, with a small target and his agile moves, that he had become skilled at through his experiences growing up, and his previous actions had provided him with a cover.
He even brought a TNT bomb.
Worst case scenario, they would perish together.
So, in his own eyes, his plan was flawless.
But he was still discovered.
“How exactly did you find me?”
Bradley Conwyn stared at Mr. X, the man behind the fanged mask, mysterious and full of depth, as if he were looking at a devil.
How could he have been found?
How did Mr. X do it!
“You exposed yourself in too many ways. If this were a battlefield, you’d be dead already.”
Robin shook his head slightly.
There were too many giveaways.
Whether it was his deliberate concealment when entering, wearing a hat, keeping his head down, and not daring to look at them directly.
Or the murderous aura he carried.
Or the smell of the TNT bomb’s gunpowder.
Even with a lifetime of experience in such shady activities, he paled in comparison to a soldier who had faced life and death on the battlefield.
“Mr. X, I must be honest, at this moment, I’m truly afraid of you.”
After Bradley Conwyn finished speaking, he suddenly calmed down, walked over, sat on the couch, picked up a wine glass, and took a sip. “I’ve never encountered an opponent like you in all my years since starting from scratch.”
“An opponent that’s utterly despair-inducing at first glance. No matter what means I use, I can’t deal with you, that kind of helplessness.”
“But, to die with you is an honor.”
Bradley Conwyn laughed somewhat maniacally, pressing the button on the TNT bomb at his waist. “Mr. X, since I can’t kill you, let’s die together. Today, I am still the evil tiger of Stillwater.”
He was indeed an evil tiger.
With a click, he pressed the TNT bomb.
Let’s die together.
But after two seconds, Bradley Conwyn’s smile gradually stiffened because he found that his TNT bomb wasn’t exploding. He immediately lowered his head and tried pressing the bomb repeatedly, but there was no response.
“Did I buy a faulty product?”
Such an answer surfaced in Bradley Conwyn’s mind but he shook his head, impossible. He had specifically gone through special channels to purchase it. How could he have bought a faulty product?
How could it be!
“It’s not a faulty product. The TNT bomb produced by the foreign Blackwater Company is of guaranteed quality. However, I cut the wire connected to your detonator. So, it won’t explode now.”
Robin sat on the sofa, his deep eyes intently explaining to Bradley Conwyn. His voice was somewhat hoarse. “Cut? When did you cut it?” Bradley Conwyn was bewildered.
“When you first arrived. Next time, don’t bring a TNT bomb. That thing has a bit of a gunpowder smell, which professionals can detect. Use a C4 bomb next time. It’s odorless and better for killing.” Robin took a sip of red wine and spoke slowly, leaving Bradley Conwyn dumbfounded.
TNT bomb. C4 bomb. And it was cut. When was it cut?
“You!” Bradley Conwyn reached for a dagger at his waist, but at that moment, a figure appeared behind him. It was Robin, who said softly, “You can’t touch me, go back and wait for me to visit you tomorrow.”
“So fast!” Bradley Conwyn was subconsciously startled. He was really fast, appearing directly behind him. If he wanted to kill him now, he would have no ability to resist.
“Go, tomorrow is when the real show begins.” Afterward, Bradley Conwyn left Eleanor Manor, his back slightly cold, with a hint of despair in his eyes. He thought it was the most brilliant plan of his life, a desperate gamble. However, it still didn’t succeed. He couldn’t even make Mr. X’s face change.
That night, the entire Stillwater was restless. Everyone knew that tomorrow was when Mr. X would make his move. Seven days ago, he had made a bold claim, giving the top three Stillwater families seven days to struggle.
During these seven days, the three major families were truly struggling under everyone’s watchful eyes. They struggled desperately, but in the end, it was all in vain. In seven days, they had tried everything, but in the face of Mr. X, they couldn’t even touch a drop of water.
That night, not a single member of the top three Stillwater families could sleep, including Walter Wraith.
