“Go.”
At Jack Winfield’s command, all the guards of the household secretly advanced. They were dispersed in all directions, infiltrating the Eleanor Manor under the cover of darkness. They prepared to gradually surround the manor to prevent Mr. X from escaping.
After walking for a while, Jack Winfield caught sight of Robin’s villa, his heart filled with joy and a fierce light flashed in his eyes – he was ready to kill. However, a man appeared behind him, covered in sweat, and reported, “Master, we have lost five men, and, and…”
“Five men! And what?” Jack Winfield’s face changed.
Quietly, they had lost five men. What a joke. These were his elite guards.
“And… they sent a message back saying they saw a ghost, a woman.” The servant continued, his face drenched in sweat.
He didn’t believe it, but he couldn’t ignore the fact that everyone was saying they had seen a ghost. This time, he had no choice but to believe.
“A ghost? Nonsense. It’s night, but where would a ghost come from? Impossible.” Jack Winfield sneered.
A ghost. Ridiculous.
“Send an order down. There must be someone here. Start searching immediately.” Jack Winfield had just given the order when the man in front of him stood still, causing him to frown. What did this mean? Was he not qualified to command him? Jack Winfield was about to scold him when he saw the Winfield family member open his mouth and faintly say, “There’s a ghost…”
And then he fell to the ground, blood streaming from his eyes.
“What’s going on?” Jack Winfield’s face turned grave as he went to examine the cause of the man’s death. But he couldn’t determine how the man had died, only that he had bled from his eyes and collapsed.
“Everyone, gather together!” Jack Winfield grew anxious.
There was a problem. They had to gather immediately. Otherwise, there would be trouble.
However, when he shouted, he found that everything around him was quiet, and no one responded. He panicked and took a few more steps, only to trip over something. Looking down, he discovered a corpse.
“Jody.” Jack Winfield saw to his horror that it was his nephew, now lying on the ground with blood streaming from his eyes.
And his pupils were wide open, clearly frightened to death.
“What on earth is going on!” Jack Winfield took a step back in fear, hastily searching for others. But all he found were more and more corpses – fifty in total. All of the Winfield family guards were dead.
Jack Winfield, the head of this powerful Creepland family, was terrified. Everyone was dead.
At that moment, a red dot appeared in the darkness, gradually growing larger and larger until it approached Jack Winfield, causing his face to change.
Because it really was a ghost.
Wearing a red dress, like fresh blood, her face covered in red marks and her body stained with blood. With every step, blood dripped from her, and a cold wind blew, filling the air with a chilling and eerie atmosphere.
“You… you…” Jack Winfield, terrified, collapsed to the ground.
The scene was too bizarre.
“This is my home…” The red-dressed ghost, in the next second, appeared in front of Jack Winfield as if she had teleported. Her face, marred by knife scars, and her resentful eyes were incredibly frightening.
“A ghost…” Even Jack Winfield was scared and prepared to run.
It was too terrifying.
However, just as he turned around, a dagger pierced through his chest from behind. Stunned, Jack Winfield’s body stiffened. At the same time, he heard a voice.
“The fifty-first, mission accomplished.” It was Lacey Willis’ voice.
“So… it was a human after all…” Jack Winfield, with a bang, collapsed to the ground, his eyes full of unwillingness.
He had guessed it was a human. But that scene had been too terrifying. He had instinctively tried to flee.
Lacey Willis took a step forward, stabbed again to make sure the target was dead, and then cleaned up the battlefield before returning to the courtyard where Robin was waiting for her.
“Primus, mission accomplished,” Lacey Willis said.
Robin looked at Lacey Willis in front of him, dressed in red clothing, covered in blood, with scars on her face, and bleeding eyes. She really looked like a ghost.
“Tell me your thoughts,” Robin said.
“It’s a very innovative way of fighting, and I didn’t expect the instructor to have such a hallucinogenic drug. Combined with my appearance, it effortlessly took them all down,” Lacey Willis said, still somewhat shocked.
She hadn’t expected that dressing up as a ghost and scaring people would be so effective. It sounded ridiculous, but the mission was accomplished.
However, the key to success was the hallucinogenic drug provided by Nick. It was scattered around the area beforehand and wouldn’t dissipate within an hour. The drug, made from poisonous mushrooms, could cause hallucinations. The reason those people were afraid of her was mainly due to the influence of the drug, which affected their nerves.
“This is the first lesson I teach you: don’t be reckless in battle. Soldiers’ lives are precious and shouldn’t be wasted. Use any available means to break through the enemy’s defenses. Warfare is about deception,” Robin taught her.
“Yes,” Lacey Willis nodded hastily.
Today’s lesson had indeed taught her a lot. If it had been her, she would have had a hard time ambushing those people. But by using other means, the enemy was eliminated effortlessly.
“Aren’t you regretting the scars on your face?” Robin asked again.
“No regrets,” Lacey Willis shook her head.
Since making her decision, she had never regretted it. It was her nature.
“You’re still young; you can’t ruin your face like this. Take this,” Robin handed Lacey Willis a box of ointment.
“What is it?”
“Terence Brown, you know him, right? Kisia’s best doctor. He made this. Apply it tonight, and your face will heal by tomorrow. This was just a special case strategy. In a real battlefield, you need to analyze the situation before deciding what to do,” Robin instructed Lacey Willis and then let her go.
Now, only Robin and Nick remained at the stone table. Nick dragged someone out from the darkness and threw him on the ground: “Master, this is a member of the Wraith family.”
“Mr. X, I’m just a messenger. Please spare my life,” the man was Smith, a member of the Wraith family.
He had been sent to the Winfield family to get their help, and then he had been following the Winfield family ever since. He had not participated in the previous battle and had stayed on the periphery. But he knew that the Winfield family had been wiped out and wanted to run away immediately. However, he was still captured and brought to Mr. X’s infamous residence.
“The Winfield family is completely annihilated, right?” Robin, wearing a mask, squatted down and asked.
“Yes, yes, yes,” Smith nodded repeatedly.
“Go back and tell Walter Wraith and Constance Brighton that the Winfield family is dead. I’ll be coming to wipe them out tomorrow. Tell them to prepare for fear,” Robin said indifferently.
