Seeing the door plate of the villa, Lacey gaped. She pointed at it and said, “Grandpa, you didn’t tell me your friend stayed in Villa 001. Its owner has made a scene in Stillwater. It belongs to Mr. X.”
“Ehn.” Orson flicked his hand leisurely. When Robin told him about his address, Orson realized who he was. It was a weird feeling to play chess with Mr. X. Also, Orson had been defeated.
After all, Mr. X had made the city of Stillwater chaotic.
“This way, please, Mr. Willis,” Melody gestured at them.
“OK.” Orson entered the living room.
Lacey felt uneasy and nervous. After all, they were in Mr. X’s house. She wondered what Mr. X looked like. ‘Is he handsome, tall, for fat?’ Lacey’s heart hammered. She couldn’t believe she would meet Mr. X, who stunned people in Stillwater and declared warn on the top three families.
Lacey followed her grandfather into the house while her heart was racing. She eagerly looked for Mr. X in the living room. Much to her surprise, she saw a scene that made her mouth drop open.
A man sat on the couch with a little girl on either side. He played with building blocks with them like a househusband. It was a harmonious, sweet scene.
However, the atmosphere wasn’t like Lacey had expected. In her imagination, Mr. X was supposed to be a cold-hearted, violent man with a horrible mask. Whenever he appeared, someone would lose his or her life. He was supposed to be an evil, domineering man.
On the contrary, the scene was completely different. Moreover, Lacey recognized the man on the couch, who she was familiar with.
“Robin Bailey? Why are you here?” she exclaimed, widening her eyes.
The man on the cough was the one she had watched for several weeks. He vanished in the past few days, and Lacey was always confused about it. She didn’t expect to see him in the villa.
“Long time no see, Officer Willis,” Robin looked at her and greeted her.
Then he gently pinched the girls’ cheeks and reminded them, “Say hi to Miss Willis.”
“Nice to meet you, Miss Willis.” Fiona and Leslie smile sweetly at Lacey.
Lacey thought they were too adorable, her heart melting. She strode towards them and sat next to Leslie. Rubbing Leslie’s head, she said, “Nice to meet you, too, girls. Are both your daughters?”
“Leslie is my daughter. This is my friend’s daughter, Fiona. You can call their first names.” Robin introduced the girls to her.
“I didn’t expect a man like you to have such a lovely daughter. How unfair! Why are you in this villa? Are you here to see Mr. X as well?” Lacey held Leslie in her arms and asked, tilting her head.
Before Robin answered, Orson approached while sighing. “I didn’t expect you to have a daughter.” He was disappointed.
Orson took Lacey to see Robin, wondering if Robin could marry Lacey. However, seeing Robin have a daughter, Orson sighed in chagrin.
“Robin, you haven’t told me why you are here,” Lacey repeated her question.
“For nothing,” Robin answered flatly.
“What do you mean by for nothing? Why are you here?”
“I bought this villa. Why can’t I stay here?”
“You bought… What?” Lacey broke off, wondering if he was kidding. Widening her eyes, she muttered, “You are a son of a wealthy family… This villa was bought by a mysterious affluent man. Mr. X stays here…”
“I… I seem to have found something…”
“No way!” Lacey was a policewoman, although Robin didn’t think she was qualified. However, in the police school, she was the first-ranking student. Therefore, she connected all the clues together immediately.
Although unwilling to admit it, she had to when confronting all the evidence–Mr. X was Robin Bailey.
“Ehn. Finally, you become smart.” Robin beamed at her.
“Argh!” Lacey held her head as she couldn’t accept this fact at all. Robin was an arrogant, wealthy man, in her opinion. He became the live-in son-in-law of the Houry family, so Lacey always suspected him of doing something evil and believed Robin was a villain.
On the other hand, Mr. X was overbearing, powerful, and violent. The two men were utterly different in character.
When Robin vanished, Mr. X appeared. However, Lacey had never thought about the possibility they were the same man. No one expected Mr. X to be a pushover tramp taken in by the Houry family.
Lacey couldn’t accept it at all.
“Your foundation isn’t solid. You should consider things from all kinds of perspectives. You won’t become an elite if you always think like others.”
Robin rubbed Leslie’s hair and added, “You failed to tell this factor. How can you be the most famous policewoman in Stillwater? There’s a square outside this house. Do 300 push-ups and 150 sit-ups. Then run around Eleanor Manor for 30 circles. After that, think about why you are like the common ones.”
“Yes, Sir!”
In frustration, Lacey saluted Robin for some reason and rushed out of the house, ready to do the push-ups and sit-ups. She felt like a loser and was defeated more than in previous times.
Lacey had been investigating Robin for weeks. However, the more she continued, the more Robin knew about her. Significantly, she lacked experience, so she agreed with him that she didn’t deserve to be the most famous policewoman in Stillwater.
“Haha… Young man, no one has ever made my proud granddaughter obedient. You are awesome!” Orson watched Lacey all the time. He laughed loudly as the scene was pretty rare. Lacey was short-tempered and violent all the time. Sometimes, she even disobeyed her father’s words.
Much to Orson’s surprise, Lacey was obedient to the young man. Orson couldn’t believe his eyes.
“She’s not bad. A policewoman is the same as a soldier,” Robin remarked.
He was a general, the Primus, leading over 300, 000 soldiers. All of them listened to his every order. Sometimes, he emanated pressure and influence. Therefore, Lacey naturally took him as her supervisor. A soldier always obeys orders.
Therefore, Lacey instinctively obeyed Robin and started her punishment. She had forgotten Robin was the target that she had been checking.
